Chapter 261: The Abandoned Nursery
As the team set about their tasks, the atmosphere shifted from the tension of their recent battles to a more relaxed, cooperative vibe.
The sparkling ocean provided a stunning backdrop to their activities, and despite the underlying dangers of Vacation Paradise Island, they couldn’t help but feel a sense of camaraderie and accomplishment.
JordanPlayz headed towards the shore, his Trident of Poseidon’s Wrath glinting in the sunlight.
He waded into the water, the trident’s power causing the waves to part around him. “Time to catch us some breakfast,” he muttered with a grin.
He raised the trident high and invoked his Water Authority.
The water around him began to churn, and soon, fish of various sizes and colors started swimming towards him, seemingly entranced by the trident’s power.
With a swift, fluid motion, JordanPlayz speared several fish, each one larger and more impressive than the last.
Meanwhile, on the beach, Ayame, Bianca, and the rest of the team prepared the cooking area.
hey had gathered driftwood to create a makeshift kitchen and had set up a fire pit. ProGamerXD used his Shipwright Authority to construct a rudimentary grill, complete with a smoker to infuse the fish with rich, smoky flavors.
“We might as well turn this into a feast,” ProGamerXD said, stepping back to admire his handiwork.
Illya and Kayden, still talking quietly about their past encounters, joined the others at the fire pit. Illya’s face brightened as she saw the preparations. “This looks amazing. Let’s make the best of it.”
Kayden nodded, “Yeah, after everything we’ve been through, we deserve a good meal.”
“You guys need to be prepared for whatever comes next,” Weiss said, glancing out at the horizon. “But for now, let’s enjoy this moment.”
Shirohige agreed, “We’ve earned it. Besides, a good meal will do wonders for our morale.”
Weiss nodded, “It’s good to balance work and rest. You guys will face a lot in the next events of Windesburg Hotel so take this as a moment of rest.”
The fish JordanPlayz caught were soon brought to the grill, and the smell of cooking seafood filled the air.
Ayame used her Gourmet Authority to ensure the fish was perfectly seasoned, while Bianca helped with the preparation, her Equality Authority subtly balancing the flavors.
As they sat around the fire, eating and sharing stories, the team felt a rare moment of peace.
The ocean’s gentle waves provided a soothing soundtrack, a stark contrast to the chaos they had faced within the Windesburg Hotel.
For a little while, they allowed themselves to enjoy the tranquility, knowing that soon enough, they would dive back into the mysteries and dangers that awaited them on Vacation Paradise Island.
After enjoying their breakfast by the serene ocean, Ayame and her team began to pack up the grill and their cooking gear.
The sense of camaraderie was strong, and despite the dark secrets they had uncovered, they were determined to face whatever came next. They wouldn’t stop until they completed Cozy Vacation Life.
“Alright, let’s get moving,” Ayame said, securing the last of their supplies. “We’ve got more ground to cover.”
The team nodded in agreement, each member falling into their usual roles.
They made their way back to Windesburg Hotel, the imposing structure looming in the distance, a stark contrast to the idyllic beach they were leaving behind.
As they entered the hotel, the familiar sense of unease settled over them. The luxurious facade of Windesburg Hotel did little to mask the underlying dark miasma that seemed to permeate the place.
“Kayden, you know the drill,” Ayame said with a small smile.
Kayden grinned back and pulled out his trusty shoe.
Flipping it into the air, he watched as it landed and pointed towards a hallway on their left. “This way,” he announced, leading the group with confidence.
They navigated the twisting corridors of the hotel, Kayden flipping his shoe at every intersection to ensure they were on the right path.

The eerie silence of the hallways was occasionally broken by distant creaks and whispers, but the team pressed on undeterred.
After several minutes of walking, they arrived at a large, ornate door that seemed out of place amidst the more modern decor of the hotel. The door was weathered and old, with intricate carvings that hinted at its dark history.
“This must be it,” Ayame said, her voice hushed.
Before they proceeded, Kuroneko pulled out the massive leather book they had obtained in the Gallery Hall of Whispers.
“According to this book, this place is the Abandoned Nursery,” he said, flipping through the pages. “It says here that Maverick Windesburg used this room for experiments on children, attempting to imbue them with supernatural abilities.”
He paused, voicing his skepticism. “But remember, this book was likely written by Maverick himself. It could contain false information. We should use it as a reference, but not rely on it completely. Having no information is better than having false information.”
Ayame nodded, understanding the caution. “Alright, let’s keep that in mind as we explore.”
She reached out and pushed the door open, revealing the entrance to the Abandoned Nursery.
The room they stepped into was a stark contrast to the rest of the hotel. It was filled with old, dusty toys and broken cribs.
The air was thick with a sense of neglect and sorrow. The walls were covered in childlike drawings, their crude lines and bright colors at odds with the oppressive atmosphere.
As they moved deeper into the nursery, they noticed the drawings seemed to shift and change when they weren’t looking directly at them. It was as if the walls themselves were alive, silently recounting the horrors that had occurred within this room.
“Maverick Windesburg used this place for his experiments on children,” Ayame said, her voice barely above a whisper, echoing the information Kuroneko had read. “We need to find out what happened here and why.”
With a collective nod, the team began to search the nursery, each step bringing them closer to uncovering the dark secrets hidden within the walls of the Abandoned Nursery.
