Chapter 298: Final Battle Against Maverick Windesburg [3]
The battleship’s cannons roared to life, launching a barrage of missiles and artillery shells at Maverick.
Explosions rocked the battlefield as the projectiles made contact, sending plumes of water and smoke into the air.
Maverick growled in frustration as the relentless assault from the battleship forced him onto the defensive.
His Lawless Authority could only do so much to mitigate the damage as the barrage of high-powered explosives pounded his defenses.
“You dare challenge me with your pitiful toys!” he bellowed, his eyes glowing with malevolent energy as he prepared to retaliate.
Just as Maverick was about to launch a devastating counterattack on the battleship, Illya sprang into action.
Transforming into her true form, a massive and grotesque mass of flesh bristling with tentacles, she lunged at Maverick with surprising speed.
“Not so fast, Grandfather!” Illya’s voice echoed from within her monstrous form as her tentacles whipped through the air, aiming to entangle and crush Maverick.
Maverick barely dodged the attack, his concentration momentarily broken as he was forced to evade Illya’s powerful strikes.
The tentacles slammed into the ground where he had been standing, leaving deep gouges in the earth and sending shockwaves through the sea.
“Traitorous wretch!” Maverick spat, glaring at Illya with a mixture of anger and disbelief. “You dare to stand against me, after all I’ve done for you?”
Illya’s response was cold and resolute. “You’ve done nothing but cause pain and suffering. It ends now, Grandfather.”
Seizing the opportunity created by Illya’s assault, Ayame and her team pressed their advantage.
The battleship’s cannons continued to fire in unison, each explosion chipping away at Maverick’s defenses, while JordanPlayz summoned torrents of water to further destabilize the dark mage.
Kuroneko, taking advantage of the chaotic environment, used his Shadow Authority to create shadowy tendrils that lashed out at Maverick, binding his movements and restricting his ability to cast spells.
“You’re not escaping this time,” Kuroneko muttered, his focus unwavering as he manipulated the shadows to ensnare Maverick.
Kenshi, wielding his Sword of Time, moved with deadly precision, his blade slicing through the air as he targeted Maverick’s weak points.
Each strike from Kenshi’s blade caused ripples in the time around Maverick, further weakening his control over the battlefield. “This ends now,” Kenshi said, his voice calm but filled with determination.
ProGamerXD unleashed a final salvo from the battleship’s main cannon, the projectile streaking through the air and crashing into Maverick with a resounding explosion.
The force of the blast sent Maverick reeling, his defenses crumbling under the relentless assault from all sides.
“Is that all you’ve got?” Maverick snarled, though his voice was laced with exhaustion and pain.
His once-imposing form was now battered and bloodied, his dark robes torn and singed from the repeated attacks.
He staggered, struggling to maintain his footing on the turbulent sea.
Ayame, seeing Maverick pushed into a corner, steeled herself for the final push. “This is it, everyone!” she called out, rallying her team. “Let’s finish this!”
Maverick’s eyes flickered with a mix of anger and desperation as he realized the tides of battle had turned against him.
Despite his immense power, he was no longer in control. The realization was bitter, and for the first time, a hint of fear crossed his features.
Maverick, cornered and bleeding, felt the walls closing in on him—both metaphorically and literally as the waves of the sea summoned by JordanPlayz crashed against his feet.
His desperation grew with each passing second. He had underestimated Ayame and her team, their relentless assault pushing him further than he had ever anticipated.
“Enough!” Maverick roared, his voice cracking with fury.
He tapped into the darkest recesses of his power, his Dark Authority and dark magic surging to the surface.

The air around him grew thick with malevolent energy, the very fabric of reality beginning to twist and tear under the strain.
“I’ll summon an Outer God if I have to!” Maverick spat, the ground beneath him splitting open as tendrils of dark magic spiraled out, forming a dark, foreboding circle of runes on the water’s surface.
His hands moved with practiced precision, the summoning ritual already taking shape.
Ayame’s eyes widened in horror. “He’s trying to summon an Outer God!” she yelled, the gravity of the situation hitting her like a ton of bricks. “We have to stop him!”
The sea itself seemed to react to Maverick’s ritual, the waves pulling back as though in fear of the entity that was about to be unleashed.
The sky darkened further, and the air grew cold and heavy, filled with a sense of impending doom.
“Do you have any idea what you’re doing?!” Illya shouted, her voice filled with both anger and fear as she watched her grandfather’s madness unfold.
Maverick, his eyes wild and crazed, barely acknowledged her. “I don’t care! I’ll do whatever it takes to win! Even if it means unleashing an Outer God upon this world!”
As the dark magic continued to swirl around him, Maverick began chanting in a language that sent chills down the spines of everyone present.
The water beneath him began to bubble and hiss as if boiling from some unseen heat.
The air vibrated with the power of the summoning ritual, and the very ground trembled.
But just as the dark portal began to open, Weiss intervened. His expression was cold and resolute as he activated his Game Over Retry Authority
“Not on my watch,” Weiss muttered, snapping his fingers.
Time reversed instantly, pulling everyone back to the moment before Maverick had begun the summoning ritual.
The battlefield reset, the dark magic dissipating as if it had never been there.
Maverick, who retained awareness due to his Time Authority, let out an enraged scream. “Damn you, Weiss!” he cursed, the realization sinking in that his attempt had been thwarted.
But undeterred, he began the summoning ritual again, his determination only growing stronger. “I will not be denied!”
Once again, the ritual began to take form, the dark runes lighting up the battlefield with a sickly glow.
But just as the portal to the Outer God’s realm began to crack open, Weiss activated his authority once more, resetting time and wiping away Maverick’s efforts.
“Weiss!” Ayame called out, relief washing over her as she realized what he was doing. “Keep him from summoning it!”
