Chapter 299: Tenebris: Dark Magician’s Forbidden Treasury [1]
“That’s the plan,” Weiss responded calmly, though his eyes remained locked on Maverick. He was fully aware that this back-and-forth wouldn’t last forever.
Maverick, his frustration boiling over, tried again and again, only for Weiss to reverse time each time.
After several attempts, Maverick’s anger turned into bitter realization. “So, you’re not going to let me summon it, huh?” he spat, his voice dripping with venom.
Weiss didn’t respond, his focus unshaken.
Finally, Maverick stopped the ritual. He gritted his teeth, knowing that this method was futile.
“Fine,” he growled. “If I can’t summon an Outer God, then I’ll just have to destroy you all myself!”
With a roar, Maverick tapped into another well of dark magic, this one designed to forcefully restore his body to its full power. Dark energy engulfed him, knitting his wounds back together, restoring his strength and stamina in an instant.
His body, though healed, was still twisted and warped from his previous attempt to ascend to godhood.
His eyes glowed with an otherworldly light as he once again charged at Ayame and her team. “Let’s see if you can beat me now!”
But Ayame’s team was ready for him. As soon as Maverick lunged forward, ProGamerXD’s battleship fired another salvo, the cannons erupting with a deafening roar as they launched a barrage of shells straight at Maverick.
“You’ll regret coming back for more!” ProGamerXD shouted, his voice filled with determination as he unleashed the full might of the battleship’s armaments.
Maverick, caught in the explosive onslaught, grunted in pain as the shells detonated around him, the force driving him back. But he refused to go down easily.
Summoning dark shields, he tried to protect himself from the barrage, only to find Ayame and her team already closing in on him.
Ayame, wielding her Tag Authority, darted in and out of his defenses, momentarily taking control of his movements with each successful tag.
Kenshi’s Sword of Time flashed through the air, cutting through Maverick’s defenses with surgical precision, while Kuroneko’s shadowy tendrils latched onto him, restricting his movements.
JordanPlayz and ProGamerXD continued their relentless assault from the battleship, with JordanPlayz manipulating the sea to rise and crash against Maverick, further destabilizing him.
Maverick, overwhelmed and outmatched, found himself pushed into a corner, unable to keep up with the coordinated assault from all sides.
“You’re finished, Maverick!” Ayame shouted, her voice filled with finality as they closed in for the final strike.
Maverick, panting and bloodied, could only watch in disbelief as his once-insurmountable power was steadily eroded by the teamwork and sheer determination of Ayame and her companions.
Desperation clawed at his insides as he realized that his end was near, but he wasn’t ready to give up. Not yet.
With a growl of frustration, Maverick gritted his teeth. “You think you’ve won? I’ve spent centuries gathering power, amassing treasures beyond your comprehension. I won’t fall to the likes of you!”
Summoning what remained of his dark magic, Maverick extended his hands and began chanting in a low, guttural tone.
The air around him crackled with energy, and a series of dark portals began to materialize in the space around him.
Each portal shimmered with an ominous black light, and from within, countless artifacts began to emerge, floating into the battlefield.
“This is Tenebris: Dark Magician’s Forbidden Treasury!” Maverick roared, his voice echoing with the power of ancient sorcery. “Behold the fruits of my lifetime of conquest and craft! Let’s see if you can withstand the power of these artifacts!”
The sky above the battlefield darkened further as more portals opened, unleashing a torrent of enchanted relics, cursed weapons, and forbidden items.
Each artifact radiated a malevolent aura, infused with the dark magic that Maverick had spent his life mastering.
The artifacts hovered in the air for a moment before darting toward Ayame and her team with terrifying speed.
Ayame’s eyes widened as she recognized the power radiating from the artifacts. “Everyone, be on guard! These are no ordinary weapons!”
The first artifact, Nocturne’s Glaive, an ebony scythe wreathed in shadows, slashed through the air toward Kenshi with a malevolent hiss.

The blade’s edge shimmered with a dark energy, impossibly sharp, cutting through the very fabric of reality as it moved. It was as if the weapon itself sought to sever the threads of existence, leaving nothing but void in its wake.
Kenshi’s instincts screamed at him to dodge, but he stood his ground, knowing that evading would only give the glaive more opportunities to attack his teammates.
He raised his Sword of Time, the blade glowing with a faint, ethereal light as it connected with the dark edge of the glaive.
The impact sent a shockwave through the air, and Kenshi felt his arms strain under the tremendous force.
“This thing’s got some serious power!” Kenshi grunted, his muscles trembling as he fought to keep the glaive at bay.
His boots dug into the ground, skidding back several feet despite his best efforts to hold his ground.
The sheer weight of the glaive’s power bore down on him, threatening to overwhelm his defenses.
Realizing that mere physical strength wouldn’t be enough, Kenshi activated his Cut Authority.
The air around him seemed to hum with energy as his sword was enveloped in a sharp, almost invisible aura.
With a swift motion, he unleashed a powerful slash, aiming to sever the glaive’s connection to its dark energy.
The glaive recoiled, its shadowy form flickering as Kenshi’s Cut Authority disrupted its power. But before he could press the advantage, the glaive shimmered and split into several identical copies, each one as deadly as the original.
They circled Kenshi like vultures, their dark edges ready to strike from every direction.
“Not good,” Kenshi muttered, realizing the danger he was in.
Without hesitation, he tapped into his Sword Authority, summoning countless copies of the Sword of Time.
The air around him was soon filled with the ethereal glow of the time-infused blades, each one poised to counter the oncoming attack.
The battle became a blur of motion as Kenshi engaged the glaives, his swords clashing with the shadowy scythes in a deadly dance.
