Chapter 37: Testing The Power Of Reality Manipulation
After awakening his reality manipulation superpower, Weiss tested it in his room.
There were flying burgers in his room, talking cats, a head with turquoise-colored twin-tailed hair running on two grown man legs, a talking snake tempting the talking cats to eat an apple, and many more.
There were even cotton candy clouds slightly below his ceiling, raining down lemonade juice raindrops.
As if that wasn’t enough, the anime character posters on his walls had come out of those wall posters, becoming a 3D existence. One of those anime characters petted the talking cats and another one of them skewered the talking snake and barbecued it.
Observing the chaos and insanity in his room, Weiss commented, “This… has become too chaotic. And I like it.”
After testing his superpower for an hour straight, Weiss snapped his fingers and the room reverted to normal as if it was nothing but an illusion. However, the cotton candy on Weiss’ hands that came from the cotton candy clouds said so otherwise.
Eating the cotton candy clouds, Weiss commented, “It’s sweet.”
[Hmph! My lips are sweeter!]
Hearing Alice interject and pout, Weiss apologized, “Sorry, I didn’t mean to neglect you, Alice. I was just so busy having fun playing Zombie Survival Online as well as testing my superpower.”
[That’s more like it. Apology accepted.]
[⸜(。˃ ᵕ ˂ )⸝♡]
[Also, I have a suggestion. Why not use your reality manipulation to insert the thought of playing Zombie Survival Online to the people in Phoenix City?]
[That way, it will be faster to earn Dev points. It’s like using a Forced Player Card but better.]
In response to that, Weiss shook his head, “I don’t like using cheats.”
“There is also the fun of climbing slowly from the bottom to the top. I want to experience my growth as a Game Developer. From two thousand active players in Zombie Survival Online, it will slowly rise and I will reach a million players eventually.”
“I don’t want to control the minds of twenty million people in Phoenix City just to obtain forty million Dev points. I’m not in a hurry to become stronger and I prefer to have fun.”
Hearing Weiss’ refusal, Alice clicked her tongue.
[Tch! I want to get my human form as soon as possible. If not for the main system’s restriction, I would have already used my human form to play with you.]
Weiss consoled, “Just wait, Alice. There are still two months left until the otherworld invasion and if I don’t reach 1 million Dev points at that time, I’ll resort to using cheats.”
Hearing Alice’s complaints, Weiss could guess that it was the main system’s restriction of reaching 1 million Dev points before Alice could use her human form.
Weiss knew that if not for that restriction, Alice would have already dated him in her human form. He didn’t know why, but Alice seemed to seek his love and attention.
He knew he was handsome, but he still found it unusual that Alice acted like that. It was as if Alice was a sheltered girl from a powerful family background who, after being locked up and sheltered for years, was finally permitted to go out.
Nonetheless, Weiss didn’t disagree with the prospect of dating Alice since he could also think of it as having a new experience in this new life of his. After all, in his past life, he had never dated any girl and he was absolutely a virgin in his past life.
Of course, that didn’t mean he didn’t have any theoretical knowledge of love. Weiss could brag that despite being a virgin, he was a master matchmaker who had helped all of his friends get the dream girl they wanted.
There was almost nothing he couldn’t do in his past life and that’s why, he wasn’t worried about the otherworld invasion two months from now.
After Weiss chatted with Alice, he opened the curtains of his room and bathed in the sunlight.
Feeling the wind caressing his skin, making his hair and clothes flutter, Weiss gazed at the outside world and sighed, “The world sure is beautiful. I don’t want it to be destroyed by those damn aliens.”
With his current power, Weiss was confident that he could protect Phoenix City from the otherworld invasion.
After all, as an S-rank Awakener, Weiss’ current power was at the level of affecting an entire city. In other words, with his thoughts alone, he could shape Phoenix City into whatever he wanted it to be.
And if any monsters were lurking in Phoenix City, he could also erase their existence with just his thoughts alone.

“With my current power, it’s still not enough to protect the world from those otherworld invaders. But with two months worth of preparation time, it should be enough to have S-rank Awakeners in every city of the world.”
“Although SS-rank is the limit of zombies in Zombie Survival Online, the limit I added to the players is only S-rank. It’s almost impossible for them to defeat those SS-rank zombies but they don’t have to defeat them. To complete Zombie Survival Online, the players only needed to find the mastermind of the zombie virus and uncover the secrets behind it.”
“Of course, if by some miracle, a player managed to defeat an SS-rank zombie and obtained the SS-rank evolution crystal, they still can’t become an SS-rank Awakener since the chances of failure of awakening are 99.9999%.”
“However, the SS-rank evolution crystal is not entirely useless as it can be used to upgrade a special event item to SS-rank. Just that, it can’t be used to increase the awakener rank.”
Weiss wanted the players to become powerful in the real world but not too powerful. At least, he wanted to balance things.
Furthermore, he had his own reasons for limiting the player’s growth in Zombie Survival Online and that’s due to planning a second version of Zombie Survival Online, aka Zombie Survival Online 2.
In Zombie Survival Online 2, Weiss planned to increase the player capacity in a server from 1000 to 100,000 players.
“I still have a lot of time so just take things one step at a time and enjoy the process while I’m at it.”
