Chapter 43: Weiss’ Lies To Ayame
After a display of his power, Weiss revealed, “Ayame, to tell you the truth, I am Aspro’s beta tester!”
To further prove his power, Weiss no longer restrained his power and showed the viral energy of an S-rank Awakener!
In Zombie Survival Online, Ayame had reached the S-rank Peak Stage and because of that, she could perceive just how powerful Weiss was. Although Weiss was only at the S-rank Initial Stage, Ayame estimated that Weiss was powerful enough to defeat an SS-rank zombie!
In the end, it came down to the superpower of an awakener. Ayame recognized that Weiss’ superpower was stronger and more superior than hers. Nonetheless, she wasn’t discouraged since she was already used to being surpassed by her brother and she had already grown numb to it.
But what surprised her the most was Weiss’ secret identity.
Out of curiosity, Ayame asked, “Brother, have you met Aspro? Is he a god? How can he create games that have game worlds no different from the real world? When I played Zombie Survival Online, it felt as if I was transported to another world.”
When Ayame asked whether he had met Aspro or not, Weiss joked in his mind, ‘You are looking at him, girl.’
But since he didn’t want to reveal the existence of the system as well as his identity as Aspro, Weiss continued the lies as he shook his head, “I haven’t met Aspro. None of the beta testers have. We are only tasked with playing the games created by Aspro before it is released to the public. So I don’t know much about him.”
“However, there are chances that the games developed by Aspro had some bugs and because of that, there were often cases of beta testers dying in both the game world and the real world.”
“Sorry, Ayame. I didn’t tell you about this since I didn’t want to let you worry about my safety. Although becoming Aspro’s beta tester allows me to obtain earlier access to his games and more power than you players, it still is a benefit accompanied by a risk of true death.”
When Ayame heard Weiss’ reply as well as his apology, she went silent for a while as she digested the information Weiss had given her.
She had never expected that her brother was one of the beta testers of Aspro’s games.
But after further pondering over Weiss’ reply, Ayame discovered a problem, “If you were one of Aspro’s beta testers, how come I never saw disappear from the house? It takes at least a day or two in the real world for Zombie Survival Online to have an SS-rank zombie.”
“Even if you had locked yourself up in your room, you would still often come out every several hours to cook food for us.”
In response to Ayame’s doubts, Weiss replied fluently, “The time dilation is different. If 30 days in the game world is 1 day in the real world, then the unreleased games of Aspro have a different time dilation. I can’t specifically say the time dilation since it varies from time to time.”
“Furthermore, the bodies of beta testers don’t disappear in the real world if we choose the method of entering Aspro’s game world via our mind. So I often enter Aspro’s game world in my sleep.”
When she heard Weiss’ response, Ayame no longer questioned it and was only curious as to why Weiss was chosen as one of the beta testers.
When Ayame asked that question to Weiss, Weiss just shrugged and replied, “Beta testers are selected at random. Who knows? Maybe you will become one of the beta testers, or maybe not.
After getting her questions answered by Weiss, Ayame no longer asked about Weiss’ identity as a beta tester.
Instead, she sighed and placed back the evolution crystals inside the small pouch, “It seems you don’t need this anymore. If I had known, I would have chosen another reward.”
Hearing Ayame’s regret, Weiss consoled her, “You can still give it to that friend of yours.”
Because of Weiss’ reminder, Ayame remembered the friend she had on the internet. That friend of hers was also one of the top game streamers and she often collaborated with Ayame in multiplayer game streams.
Furthermore, Ayame and her friend had also met in real life so the relationship between them was very good.
Remembering her friend, Ayame nodded, “Okay, I will give it to her. I might leave the house for a week to meet up with her. No need to bring the bodyguards with me since my power is more than enough to protect myself.”
In regards to Ayame’s decision, Weiss supported it, “That’s true. B-rank is powerful enough to the point that you only have to worry about ballistic missiles and nuclear bombs. Even if someone dared to kill you with those, I can still hack the weapons of other countries and use those to intercept them.”
Although Weiss cared about his younger sister’s safety, it wasn’t to the point that he needed to be wherever she was just to protect her. Furthermore, he knew how powerful Ayame’s space manipulation superpower was so he wasn’t worried about her safety.
[Since your sister will leave the house, then the two of us can be alone here. I still feel salty about not getting my human form.]
Alice commented which only Weiss could hear.
‘Don’t worry, Alice. Although I don’t plan to cheat by using mind control, it shouldn’t take more than a week to reach a million Dev points.’
‘With how otherworldly Zombie Survival Online is, a lot of people will eventually play it just for the sake of obtaining power. Moreover, my plan of giving benefits to streamers so that they can promote my game will also provide my game with more players.’

[Fine, I can wait.]
After consoling Alice, Weiss snapped his fingers, causing the kitchen to return to normal. The plates stacked on the dining table had also returned to the cupboard.
Seeing that Weiss was about to leave the kitchen room, Ayame hurriedly asked, “Since you beta-tested Zombie Survival Online, can you give me a hint in completing it?”
