Chapter 46: Zombie Survival Online Version 1.1
When dealing with scum, Weiss was very decisive. With a kitchen knife in hand, Weiss slashed it towards the neck of the bearded man.
Unlike the previous case, the bearded man wasn’t lucky enough to lose in the game so his body wasn’t transported out of the player dimension.
Weiss’ kitchen knife slashed the neck of the bearded man like a hot knife cutting through butter, decapitating the bearded man.
Although the bearded man was a ruthless criminal, it wasn’t Weiss’ hobby to perform torture so he didn’t torture the bearded man and killed him painlessly.
With the death of the bearded man, his consciousness disappeared in Server 3 and his corpse was transported back to the real world.
“Usually, I wouldn’t target these criminals since it’s inevitable for some of them to play my games. It would be too troublesome to kill them whenever their real body enters the player dimension. However, since I’m here and barely have anything to do, then I might as well do it.”
“In the future, I’ll just ignore them unless they prove to be too much of a threat. When they do, I’ll just deprive them of their power.”
Of course, Weiss wouldn’t allow those who could threaten him and the world to grow powerful.
By threat, he meant those criminals or enemies of his that had awakened a powerful superpower. He would never allow them to grow powerful enough to the point that they could threaten his life as well as the world.
As for the corpse of the bearded man returning to the real world, Weiss wasn’t worried about the bearded man’s death being linked to his game.
The bearded man was currently in hiding, escaping the pursuits of the eagle policemen. The last murder he committed wasn’t completely a clean one and it had revealed some tracks that led to him being pursued by the police.
Out of sheer coincidence, the last victim of the bearded man was a forced player of Server 1 but one of the players who had game over-ed early. Because of that, the bearded man managed to discover Zombie Survival Online.
In an attempt to obtain power as well as escape the police’s pursuit, the bearded man played Zombie Survival Online and became a player of Server 2.
However, the bearded man was unlucky enough to have Weiss do server maintenance and game updates on this day.
After killing the bearded man, Weiss contemplated, “It’s too troublesome to kill them personally whenever they become a threat to me or the world. How about I create the concept of Player Hunters?”
“I can recruit some players to kill those criminals without having to get my hands dirty. And in return, I can give some rewards to those players.”
After having that idea in mind, Weiss asked Alice, “Can I create another application using the game workshop?”
“It’s not a game but just a normal application for the Player Hunters I have in mind.”
As soon as Weiss asked that question to Alice, Alice responded.
[The main system agrees. However, that application cannot be published to the real world’s application stores and can only be bestowed by you to those players.]
[Furthermore, that application will also not generate any Dev points. Also, you can create a server for it but it wouldn’t be included in your published games.]
[As for the issues of rewarding the players, the reward will be borne by you. Meaning, that you will have to spend your own Dev points to purchase game items that you could use to reward those players.]
After receiving that response from Alice, Weiss sighed in relief.
“Well, I have so much to do. I still have to update Zombie Survival Online and also create the Player Hunter application.”
“But it’s all for the sake of keeping the world a better place to live in so I don’t have much complaints. The Player Hunter application will become useful when I want to let the players do my bidding.”
“As for the problem of rewards, I don’t think that’s even a huge problem. After all, Blue Star has a population of ten billion. Even if I did a conservative estimate of having one billion players playing my game, I’d still amass a billion points daily and that’s excluding new players as well as those players completing my games.”
“Furthermore, players will mostly receive a reward inferior in quality to the ones they had when they played the game unless they completed the game. So even if I give the players a game item I deemed as trash, they will treat it as a treasure.”
With those plans in mind, Weiss started working.
Although there were still a few criminals in both the three player dimensions, they weren’t as severe as the bearded man so Weiss wasn’t bothered to kill them. He could let them live so that they can be used as targets for the Player Hunters.
Leaving the player dimension, Weiss started adding new updates for Zombie Survival Online.
Follow new episodes on the "N0vel1st.c0m".
The updates would be implemented after Server 2 ended their game session. However, even if Server 2 ended their game session, Server 1 wouldn’t be able to have access to its feature yet unless their game session ended as well.
The same went for Server 3 and ultimately, the new updates would only be implemented after the start of a new game session for each server.
After updating Zombie Survival Online to Version 1.1, new features such as live stream and streamer benefits were included.
However, since Server 2 hasn’t completed its game session yet, the update wasn’t implemented on any of the servers. But if Server 3 were to start their game and Server 4 was created, then Server 4 would have the update implemented when their game session started, regardless of whether Server 2 has completed their game session or not.
“With Zombie Survival Online already updated to Version 1.1, I can now focus on developing the Player Hunter Application. But since I lack Dev points, I can just develop it and only give access to it to those top players when I have enough Dev points to give rewards.”
With that plan in mind, Weiss left Zombie Survival Online and returned to the Game Workshop. Afterward, he started developing the Player Hunter application.
