Chapter 67: Origin Of The Zombie Virus
Arriving in front of the bioreactor chamber, Ayame, Winston, and Bianca saw the naked man inside it.
“I didn’t come here to watch a naked man soaked inside a large glass chamber.”
Bianca complained to Lex after averting her eyes from the naked man. She didn’t have the hobby of looking at naked men floating inside a large glass chamber.
On the other hand, Ayame and Winston just observed the naked man inside the bioreactor chamber with no emotional fluctuations. They were busy running their minds with countless hypotheses about the secrets of the zombie virus after seeing the naked man locked up in the underground laboratory.
However, a hypothesis was just a hypothesis so the two of them looked at Lex and waited for his explanation.
Due to their deal and since he valued his life very much, Lex didn’t plan to hide anything so he didn’t hesitate to explain to them about the secrets of the zombie virus.
Pointing towards the sleeping naked man inside the bioreactor chamber, Lex asked, “You see this man right here? He’s not a man.”
Before Lex could further explain, Bianca interjected, “So what is he then if not a man? A woman? I don’t see him having boobs and a pussy. He doesn’t seem to be a futanari either.”
Bianca wanted to continue complaining but Winston forwarded his hand to block Bianca, “Hol’ up, let him cook.”
Having spent weeks with Bianca, Winston knew that Bianca was quite annoying sometimes due to Bianca expressing her dissatisfactions and complaints instead of hiding them.
However, Winston could still tolerate it anyway since Bianca was quite useful and it wasn’t that usual she would open her mouth and complain. Maybe it was due to Lex being Robert’s right-hand man, Bianca was dissatisfied with him since Robert had forced him to exhaust herself in using the restoration domain.
Since Robert was already dead, Bianca could only vent her dissatisfaction on his right-hand man.
Having already analyzed Bianca’s thought process, Winston didn’t say much other than preventing Bianca from interjecting Lex and letting Lex continue his explanation.
Winston could also understand Bianca’s dissatisfaction since the way Lex explained it was as if Lex was asking for a beating.
After all, it was like presenting a basketball in front of someone yet saying it wasn’t a basketball. If it wasn’t a basketball, then what it is? A volleyball?
After no one interrupted him anymore, Lex didn’t bother to respond to Bianca’s question and he continued his explanation, “This entity inside this chamber is not a man. To be exact, he isn’t a human. He is an alien or to be specific, an extraterrestrial creature.”
When Lex mentioned the identity of the entity inside the bioreactor chamber, Winston and Ayame weren’t surprised while Bianca slowly accepted it due to her game knowledge.
Anyway, Bianca was just dissatisfied with Lex but that doesn’t mean she wasn’t smart enough to know about such common game lore.
If the zombie virus wasn’t man-made such as from a science experimental accident, then it would either be from extraterrestrial influence or the game developer never explained the origin of the zombie virus.
In this case, the three of them discovered that it was the former.
Furthermore, Winston didn’t interject and disagree with Lex’s words which means that Lex was telling the truth. Because of that, Ayame and Bianca just listened silently and waited for Lex to continue his explanation.
Noticing that no one interrupted him, Lex continued, “This unknown entity is the origin of the zombie virus. The so-called zombie virus is just the product of his energy’s effect on the living organisms on Earth. For the sake of identification, we labeled him with the codename VIRUS.”
“VIRUS has unknown energy in his body and the radiation of that energy causes the mutation of cells in living organisms. However, it can’t be said that the mutation is a bad thing. It could even be deemed as the catalyst for evolution.”
“Because of that, even after the government had discovered VIRUS’ existence, the top existences of the United Nations agreed to use VIRUS’ energy radiation to create the zombie virus and let themselves evolve into a superior existence.”
“It wasn’t the intention of the government to release the zombie virus to the public since they wanted to hoard it all for themselves. It was only due to a traitor who managed to take a sample of the zombie virus and spread it to the waterways that the zombie virus started to spread across the world.”
“And that traitor is none other than my boss, Robert Wilson.”
After pausing for a while to let Ayame, Bianca, and Winston digest the information he gave to them, Lex continued, “My boss wanted to make everyone in this world his test subject. He is very curious about the upper limit of the zombie virus so the government using the zombie virus for their own wasn’t enough experimental data for my boss.”
“However, his true goal was to determine whether the zombie virus can allow a human to evolve into a god!”
When Lex mentioned his boss’ goal, there was a clear fanaticism and worship in his voice. He had high respect and support for Robert’s goal so he would do anything just to let Robert achieve his goal.
However, Lex soon became melancholic since even if supported Robert’s goal, Robert was already dead. Lex knew that with just him alone, he couldn’t achieve Robert’s goal.

Ayame, Winston, and Bianca ignored Lex’s mood swings. They felt relieved that they had eliminated Robert before he could pose a much more dangerous threat to humanity.
Although Ayame already knew the answer, she still asked Lex, “Did Robert succeed in his goal or not?”
In response to Ayame’s question, Lex became more enthusiastic and wasn’t as melancholic as before so he answered with excitement, “Of course! My boss succeeded!”
But as soon as he spoke that, Lex became slightly depressed and continued, “My boss succeeded, but not completely.”
