Noticing their questioning look, Lex explained as he pointed towards VIRUS who was sleeping inside the bioreactor chamber, “VIRUS didn’t look like a human before. His appearance before was indescribable. It was far beyond the human cognition.”

“VIRUS arrived at Earth via a meteor. When the meteor fell on earth, we discovered VIRUS inside the meteorite.”

After mentioning the meteorite, Lex pointed toward the corner of the room where the meteorite was contained.

The meteorite was contained within a cube of reinforced glass. It didn’t look anything special other than being a huge space rock.

“When we first found VIRUS, we couldn’t describe his appearance. But as soon as VIRUS was exposed to us humans, he shapeshifted to that of a human.”

“Before VIRUS fell into a slumber, VIRUS had cooperated with my boss’ experiments in exchange for the method to recover from his injury. According to VIRUS, he had escaped from his planet after being almost killed by his enemy.”

“Because of the unknown threat of VIRUS’ enemy, my boss wanted to become a god or at least have a god in the human race. Due to that, my boss didn’t hesitate to betray the government and release the zombie virus to let all humans have the chance to evolve into a god.”

Hearing Lex’s explanation, Ayame interjected, “Isn’t that wishful thinking? If even VIRUS, who had his unknown energy yet couldn’t defeat his enemy, what more could the human race do?”

“As you said, the zombie virus is only a product of the radiation of VIRUS’ energy. It’s too unlikely that the human race could become a god by just relying on the product of VIRUS’ energy radiation.”

“Even if the zombie virus was used as a catalyst for human evolution, I don’t think the human race is powerful enough to become a god with just that.”

In response to Ayame’s interjection, Lex commented, “Of course, my boss didn’t rely on just that small possibility.”

“In fact, it’s due to my boss’ cooperation with VIRUS that VIRUS revealed the method that could recover from his injuries and restore his power to its peak.”

“It’s none other than to generate a huge amount of viral energy. Although viral energy is inferior compared to VIRUS’ energy, quantitative accumulation could lead to qualitative change. This time, it was Winston who interjected as he asked, “Isn’t that too risky? I know Robert must have thought of this. But if VIRUS recovered from his injuries and his power was restored to his prime, who knows if VIRUS will keep his word or not.”

Hearing Winston’s question, Lex replied in a matter-of-fact tone, “Even if it’s risky, it’s not like my boss has any other options, right? Even if it wasn’t my boss who cooperated with VIRUS, there would be another scientist who would cooperate with him since it’s the arrangement of the government.”

“Furthermore, VIRUS in his injured state is still strong enough to cause the extinction of the human race. Whether my boss wants to or not, he has to cooperate with VIRUS.”

“Since it was inevitable, my boss decided to at least use VIRUS’ power to create an existence similar to a god and as I said before, my boss succeeded but also did not.”

Pausing for a while to create suspense, Lex continued, “Codename ETERNITY has become an existence that has reached the level of a god. She could destroy the timeline and create a new one. However, she has lost her humanity and can no longer be deemed as a human.”

“Furthermore, my boss didn’t worry about creating a god-like existence since he was confident that his negation superpower could suppress a god. The only problem was that ETERNITY had absorbed a few of VIRUS’ energy, weakening VIRUS and allowing her to step into the power of a god.”

“It’s also due to ETERNITY that VIRUS was forced to recuperate from his depleted energy and injuries in a state of slumber. Boss’ plan was a failure since he couldn’t contain or control ETERNITY. But it also succeeded since by accident, a human girl managed to obtain the power of a god.”

“The whereabouts of ETERNITY are currently unknown. As soon as she became a god, she disappeared from the underground laboratory and was nowhere to be seen. Even my boss and I aren’t certain whether ETERNITY is alive or dead, or whether she has left Earth or not.”

“But one thing is for certain, the zombie virus alone cannot evolve a human to the level of a god. At least, my boss and I aren’t sure whether it’s possible or not since the virus hasn’t reached SSS-rank yet. However, if a human has improved his body using the zombie virus and absorbed the energy of VIRUS, becoming a god is possible if that human can withstand it.”

“Although, the price of it is losing humanity. Even ETERNITY can only be considered as an incomplete god. She has the power of a god but doesn’t have her own personality. She hasn’t reached perfection and her power has controlled her even though it should be the opposite.”

“Because of that, my boss didn’t want to lose his personality and humanity so he didn’t attempt to use VIRUS’ energy. Not that VIRUS would allow it since ETERNITY’s case was an accident.”

After Lex explained briefly about the story of a human girl who had become a god, he paused for a while before saying, “I have already explained all of the secrets of the zombie virus. If you have any other questions, you can ask me.”

After Lex said that, both Ayame and Bianca heard a game notification sound in their mind.
