Chapter 96: Golden Engagement Ring (GER)
In the gym, Kenshi and JordanPlayz were working out together.
Kenshi held a wooden sword and started performing his routine sword slashes. On the other hand, JordanPlayz was weightlifting.
Of course, they didn’t forget their purpose in visiting the gym. While working out, they would search every nook and cranny of the gym, leaving no stone unturned.
“Kenshi, are you feeling the burn!?”
JordanPlayz exclaimed as he questioned Kenshi while he was sweating like crazy.
On the other hand, Kenshi barely had any sweat on his body and he looked as calm as usual.
Shaking his head, Kenshi slashed the wooden sword forward and responded, “I’m feeling the wind.”
As a swordsman on the path to enlightenment, Kenshi would focus on sensing the wind elements as his swordsmanship revolved around the wind element. So whenever he slashed his sword, he did that to not only train his sword slashes but to also perceive the wind elements in every slash of his sword.
Of course, JordanPlayz didn’t know about that so he was confused with Kenshi’s response. But since he was already focusing on weightlifting and searching the gym, JordanPlayz didn’t make a big deal out of it and continued doing his own thing.
…
In the pool…
“You are dead, Kuroneko!”
Winston yelled as he pulled the trigger, causing water bullets to shoot out from the water gun. The water bullets were accurately shooting toward Kuroneko.
Kuroneko couldn’t avoid it in time, causing his head to be splashed with the water bullets from Winston’s water gun.
Witnessing Winston’s superb marksmanship, Kuroneko sighed, “For a kid, you are good. If this was a real battle, I would have already died.”
Despite being called a kid by Kuroneko, Winston wasn’t offended since he was already used to it. After all, who made him a twelve-year-old kid?
He surfed the internet before and he had known how much twelve-year-old kids were discriminated against, even going as far as labeling dumb idiots on the internet as “twelve-year-olds of the internet”.
But in terms of maturity, Winston was more mature than the average adult. Those manchilds couldn’t compare with him.
Speaking of manchild, Kuroneko could be considered as half of one since he still exhibits some chuunibyou such as wearing a black cat hoodie. He even played with a twelve-year-old kid in a water fight at a pool despite being in his early twenties.
Nonetheless, he and Winston still haven’t forgotten their purpose for visiting the pool. Not only did they play and swim in the pool, but they also searched for everything in there.
They swam in the pool and also dived in to check if there were any game items below the pool.
While Winston and Kuroneko stopped playing and started diving in the pool, Winston saw something shine below the pool.
‘Is something in there?’
It caught his attention and without any hesitation, Winston resurfaced first to catch his breath. After holding his breath, Winston dived deeper into the swimming pool until he arrived at the main drain.
He saw something golden-colored placed on top of the main drain of the swimming pool.
‘Finders keepers. Since I found this and no one is in the swimming pool, then it’s mine now.’
With that thought in mind, Winston no longer hesitated and took the golden-colored item and resurfaced out of the pool.
When Winston got out of the pool, he noticed that Kuroneko had also gone out of the pool. And like him, Kuroneko also was holding something in his hand.
Winston couldn’t see what Kuroneko was holding since the item was small enough to be hidden in Kuroneko’s hand.
Kuroneko also noticed that Winston was holding something so he couldn’t help but ask out of curiosity, “Did you find anything, Winston?”

Hearing Kuroneko’s question, Winston secretly used his Eye of Insight towards Kuroneko.
After using it on Kuroneko, Winston replied as he opened his palm and showed the golden engagement ring in his hand, “I found a golden engagement ring under the pool. What about you?”
In response to Winston’s question, Kuroneko exclaimed, “I also found one too!”
Kuroneko opened his palm and it showed a silver engagement ring, “But in my case, it’s a silver engagement ring instead of a golden one.”
Winston gazed at the silver engagement ring on Kuroneko’s palm. He used his Eye of Insight on it but as he expected, his Eye of Insight didn’t work on it.
‘Sigh, the game’s rules had prevented me from peering through the information of game items. It seems that my Eye of Insight only worked on Zombie Survival Online’s game items.’
After that discovery, Winston wasn’t disappointed since he knew that Aspro wouldn’t leave such an obvious loophole for him to exploit.
Nonetheless, Winston knew that even with that nerf, his Eye of Insight was still useful. After all, he had used it before on Kuroneko.
Kuroneko was very sus when he acted as if he found something and wanted to hide it. For a second there, Winston thought that Kuroneko had ulterior motives.
Fortunately, his Eye of Insight had seen through that Kuroneko didn’t have any ulterior motives. Kuroneko only looked suspicious but in fact, he did that just because he didn’t want to lose the silver engagement ring.
The ring was a small item so Kuroneko feared that it would slip through his fingers especially when his hand was wet. So he didn’t intend to hide it from Winston but was just afraid that he would lose it.
‘My Eye of Insight is still convenient in cases like these. At least Aspro didn’t nerf my Eye of Insight when he allowed me to travel to the real world. Aside from the restriction of peering through the information of Aspro’s game items, I can still use the Eye of insight like I usually do.’
‘My Eye of Insight can still see through the intentions of others as well as their name and identity.’
With those thoughts in his mind, Winston was relieved.
After Kuroneko saw the golden engagement ring on Winston’s palm, he asked, “Do you think we should return to the atrium first and tell the others about our discovery? Or do we continue searching for clues in the pool?”
