- Chapter 117 - Chapter 117 Brief Return to Autumn Glory City
Chapter 117: Brief Return to Autumn Glory City Chapter 117: Brief Return to Autumn Glory City As the soft, rose-colored dawn light filled the world outside, Ning Xian lay under a thick quilt made of silky, azure feathers in the upstairs bedroom, deeply asleep and looking completely at peace.
Meanwhile, Jiang Chen, already awake, was secluded in the quiet of his meditation chamber.
The peacefulness of the room was a sharp contrast to the vibrant energy of the new day outside.
A soft smile appeared on his lips as he reminisced about the events of the previous night.
Caught up in his memories, his left hand instinctively lifted, his gaze drawn to the Eternal Vows Binding Ring on his finger.
“What could be the origins of this ring?” Jiang Chen mused aloud.
His curiosity was piqued by the unexpected delight the ring had brought him.
If he hadn’t been certain he was the villain, he might have thought himself the protagonist.
During his intimate moment with Ning Xian, the Eternal Vows Binding Ring had revealed a dual cultivation feature, apparently a fundamental part of its design.
This function was respectful, requiring his clear consent to activate, thus preserving his autonomy.
Moreover, if his partner wore her corresponding nuptial ring, the dual cultivation feature could potentially boost their aptitude and enlightenment in shared cultivation methods or related areas.
However, for any of this to happen, the consent of the person wearing the Eternal Vows Binding Ring was essential.
Without a doubt, Ning Xian stood to gain the most from this unexpected advantage.
Given her relatively modest level of cultivation, her abilities were unlikely to significantly enhance Jiang Chen’s own.
Similarly, when it came to aptitude and enlightenment, her contributions were considerably less impactful compared to his.
Yet, this imbalance was of little concern to Jiang Chen.
At his core, he was an anomaly in the world of cultivation, blessed with a multitude of treasures capable of defying heaven and shaping destiny.
Matching his pace was a feat few could achieve.
Perhaps only those esteemed as the Sons of Heavenly Fate could compete with him, so remarkable was his standing even now.
Additionally, these facts did little to lessen Jiang Chen’s affection for Ning Xian.
His determination to help his loved ones become stronger remained unchanged, regardless of any initial differences in their abilities.
He always adhered to one principle as sacred: when it came to boosting the strength of the women in his life, he would spare no ‘effort’.
‘While Xian’er is still asleep, I should take this opportunity to absorb the qi and blood energy,’ Jiang Chen thought, wrapping up his reflections.
He shifted his focus to the Moondust Ring, murmuring, “Let’s begin with you!” Inside was the remains of a mighty creature, the Extreme Wind Splitting Skywolf, whose strength was just below the Heavenly Origin realm.
Realizing the meditation chamber was too small to contain the remains of the demonic beast, Jiang Chen, with just a thought, directed the unique absorptive power of the Wordless Heavenly Jade within his heart straight into the Moondust Ring.
Even though the qi and blood energy of the Extreme Wind Splitting Skywolf was incredibly dense, the Wordless Heavenly Jade absorbed it at an impressively fast rate.
In an astonishingly short amount of time, the dense energy was completely drained, and the once formidable body of the demonic beast shriveled and withered, transforming into a mere skeletal structure, completely devoid of qi and blood energy.
“Such incredible power!” Jiang Chen could clearly feel the Wordless Heavenly Jade throbbing with a strong, extraordinary energy.
Yet, he refrained from immediately using a cultivation method to test its magical abilities.
Jiang Chen then proceeded to absorb the qi and blood energy from all the golden-red inner cores he had, as well as from the corpses of the blood-colored monsters and Mysterious Platform realm cultivators.

The energy harvested from these sources was remarkably rich, almost double that of what he obtained from the Extreme Wind Splitting Skywolf.
Quickly, the absorption was complete, and all the qi and blood energy had been channeled into the Wordless Heavenly Jade, transforming into a mysterious and unique form of energy.
Knowing his next phase of cultivation would need undisturbed time and having completed his current tasks, Jiang Chen stood up, ready to take Ning Xian to the Forsaken Serenity Mountain Range.
With this intention, he left the meditation chamber to wake Ning Xian.
Yet, as soon as he stepped out, he was met with the sight of her elegantly coming down the stairs.
Seeing Jiang Chen, Ning Xian was momentarily taken aback.
Thoughts of the previous night flooded her mind, causing a warm blush to color her cheeks.
She looked away, managing to say a shy, “Good morning.” “Good morning, wife.” Jiang Chen replied, enjoying the playful undertone of the exchange.
He asked, with a teasing tone, “How are you feeling today?” As Ning Xian’s blush intensified, Jiang Chen laughed gently, amused.
“I meant in terms of your increased strength,” he clarified.
Jolted by his question, Ning Xian snapped out of her flustered state.
Remembering the surge of power that had amazed her, her shyness quickly faded.
Filled with happiness and curiosity, she rushed towards Jiang Chen, her eyes shining with excitement as she practically bounced with pure joy.
“How did this happen, Jiang…hus…husband?” Ning Xian asked, her voice mixing modesty with wonder.
Jiang Chen couldn’t hide his smile at her lively reaction.
“Calm down, calm down!” he advised, his voice gentle yet authoritative.
He then began to explain what had happened.
As realization set in for Ning Xian, Jiang Chen added, “So, that’s pretty much it.
If you have more questions about this, I can answer them later.
Right now, I need you to get ready; we’re about to leave.” “Leave!?
To where?” Ning Xian cut in, her lovely face mirroring her confusion.
“We’re going to the Forsaken Serenity Mountain Range.
First, to expand your horizons, and second, to see what it’s like inside a Cave Heaven Secret Realm.
Also, I want you to meet your new sisters.” Ning Xian felt a rush of warmth and was pleasantly surprised by Jiang Chen’s first reasons, appreciating his thoughtfulness.
But, his mention of ‘new sisters’ made her eyes narrow, and she looked at him with suspicion.
Before Ning Xian could voice her concerns, Jiang Chen gently took her by the shoulders, turned her around, and nudged her forward.
“I know you have a lot of questions, but let’s save them for our journey later.
For now, please get ready; it’s time to leave.” He also planned to make a quick visit to Autumn Glory City to see the Jiang Clan.
Ning Xian opened her mouth to protest, but when she turned to speak, she found that Jiang Chen had already moved, probably waiting outside.
With a sense of resignation, she went to prepare herself, silently promising that although Jiang Chen might avoid her questions now, she would ensure he answered them eventually.
…
As a cultivator of the Heavenly Origin realm, Jiang Chen, gliding through the cloud-filled sky and even while carrying Ning Xian, quickly reached Autumn Glory City.
Before they entered the city, Jiang Chen activated his Heavenly Demon Hidden Heart Ring, concealing their presence with a cloak of invisibility.
He had no plans to extend their visit.
Upon arriving at his home within the Jiang Clan’s estate, Jiang Chen handed the Moondust Ring to Ning Xian, using it to hide her aura, before sending her off to meet her master, Qiu Liaoxi.
Meanwhile, he used his transmission jade token to send a message to his uncle, Jiang Xingtai, notifying him of his arrival.
…
Inside his residence, Jiang Chen waited for his uncle.
The home, steeped in a sense of ancient calm, was a haven of peace.
It wasn’t long before Jiang Xingtai arrived.
“Nephew, seeing you again so soon is a delight,” he greeted warmly, entering with a caring smile and a look of concern on his face.
“Is everything alright?
If you need anything, please, don’t hesitate to ask!” His tone was laced with genuine worry, especially since it hadn’t been long since Jiang Chen and Ning Xian had set off for the Starry Abyss Sect.
“Uncle, there’s no need to worry; everything is fine,” Jiang Chen reassured, his voice calm and convincing, easing some of Jiang Xingtai’s concerns.
With a wry smile, he continued, “My quick return wasn’t exactly planned-things just happened faster than expected!” Following this, they engaged in a heartwarming conversation, catching up on each other’s lives.
However, the once relaxed atmosphere quickly changed as Jiang Chen’s expression turned serious.
“Uncle, there’s something important I need to talk about,” he said, choosing his words carefully.
“On my recent journey to the secret realm, I discovered what happened to my parents…” he went on to share the sad fate of his parents and how he had avenged their deaths.
Jiang Xingtai was visibly shocked, his usually warm demeanor replaced by a somber expression as the distressing news took its toll.
Nonetheless, as the experienced head of the clan, he composed himself, finding the strength to provide comfort.
“Jiang Chen, you’ve done your parents proud,” he said, his voice a blend of sorrow and pride.
A thoughtful pause ensued, giving the elder time to digest the heavy news.
…
Breaking the silence, Jiang Chen casually asked, “By the way, I was hoping to meet President Du Bailei.
Is he around Autumn Glory City right now?” “He’s not here at the moment, and it’s uncertain when he’ll return,” Jiang Xingtai responded, a slight crease forming on his forehead.
Undisturbed by the information, Jiang Chen didn’t linger on the topic, simply saying, “Well, if you happen to see him, please tell President Du Bailei that the one controlling him has been dealt with.” Jiang Xingtai acknowledged with a nod, and they continued their conversation.
As it began to wrap up, Jiang Chen signaled a maid to fetch Ning Xian.
After doing so, he waited briefly before standing to depart.
Outside his residence, Jiang Chen was greeted by Ning Xian, who was with Jiang Yuqian, Qiu Liaoxi, Alchemist Xie, and other family members.
After exchanging heartfelt goodbyes, the couple stepped onto the Black Crystal Sky Piercing Shuttle, setting off for the Forsaken Serenity Mountain Range.
