Chapter 265: Vow for Revenge Chapter 265: Vow for Revenge Considering the greater strength of Three Mountains Island compared to Blackwood Island, Jiang Chen decided it was necessary to summon an additional squad of death warriors from the Purple Heaven Holy Land.

This squad was part of the assassin division of the death warriors, known for their unmatched stealth abilities.

These elite warriors would eventually be escorted by Dao Palace realm experts from the Ageless Spirit Heavenly Sect, ensuring their safe arrival.

As for Jiang Chen, he had no need to leave his current location for now.

…

Meanwhile, Ji Mingxiu had successfully spread the news about the competition to crown the number one prodigy of the Immortal Martial Continent.

Every major power across the continent had been informed.

This monumental event was scheduled to take place in three months at the Ageless Spirit Heavenly Sect, located in the Lustrous Yang Domain.  At this point, it was only a matter of time before the entire Immortal Martial Continent heard about it.

Initially, there had been some opposition to the idea of holding such a competition.

However, after the Pure Frost Domain and Vibrant Blaze Domain fell to the demonic invasion, any objections from the major powers were silenced.

The demon race’s attack had left the Immortal Martial Continent in a fragile state.  This crisis made it urgent to cultivate a powerful cultivator at the Third Step of the Cultivation Path-someone capable of standing against the demon race.

There was general agreement across the continent on this necessity, but disagreements were beginning to arise.  Many ancestor-level and supreme elder-level cultivators from the major factions, all at the Dao Palace realm, believed they were the ones most likely to reach the Third Step of the Cultivation Path.

After all, they were only a step away!

With the combined opportunities from across the entire Immortal Martial Continent, their chances of breaking through would greatly increase.

However, when Ji Mingxiu, Xu Xinlan, and others heard this suggestion, they responded with indifference and disdain.

They themselves were recognized as top prodigies of the Immortal Martial Continent and had no desire to claim the title of number one prodigy.

Yet, these Dao Palace realm cultivators-who were clearly less accomplished than them-dared to suggest they could take the crown?

Even so, Ji Mingxiu understood the larger picture.

The stakes were far too high, and it would be impossible to change these people’s minds in a short time.

As a result, it was decided to open the competition to all inhabitants of the Immortal Martial Continent.

After all, with Jiang Chen involved, there was little chance these individuals could cause any meaningful disruption.

Jiang Chen raised no objections to Ji Mingxiu’s plan.

To him, those Dao Palace realm cultivators were nothing more than background characters, minor players in the grand scheme of things.

His attention was fixed solely on handling Gu Ran.

At the moment, Jiang Chen was perched in a vantage point overlooking the entire Three Mountains Island.

…

Within the bustling city of the You Clan on Three Mountains Island, Gu Ran looked around as he stepped into the lively streets.

He muttered in relief, “Finally, I’ve escaped the curse of Blackwood Island.” That place had felt like a nightmare, bringing him nothing but bad luck.

Shaking off those thoughts, he focused on the present.

I know very little about the hunting grounds here on Three Mountains Island.

I need to investigate thoroughly, he mused.

This time, his goal was clear-he would reach the Inquiring Journey realm no matter what.

Determined, Gu Ran melted into the crowd, disappearing among the throngs of people.

…

Meanwhile, in a shadowed corner of the Teleportation Hall within the You Clan City, Feng Liu stood alone, seething with rage.

His thoughts were a storm of resentment.

Gu Ran, you despicable wretch!

You caused my father’s death and allowed others to overthrow my Feng Clan, leaving us in ruins, nothing more than a name!

I, Feng Liu, am bound by honor to avenge my father and restore my clan’s pride!

No matter the cost, I will see you destroyed!

His fists clenched so tightly that his nails nearly pierced his palms.

His hatred wasn’t limited to Gu Ran alone.

He also burned with anger toward the mysterious Dao Palace realm powerhouse.

If it hadn’t been for that powerful cultivator who killed his father, the Feng Clan might have captured Gu Ran by now.

They could have delivered him to the Ageless Spirit Heavenly Sect and claimed the rewards.

Feng Liu’s thoughts darkened further.

Perhaps I might have even uncovered Gu Ran’s secret of invisibility!

But all his dreams of a brighter future were gone now.

Stripped of everything he had once possessed, Feng Liu felt like a homeless hound, humiliated and powerless.

His eyes narrowed, his hatred bubbling to the surface.

That female powerhouse… so what if she’s in the Dao Palace realm?

Gu Ran is the target of the Ageless Spirit Heavenly Sect, yet she dares to protect him.

She’s openly defying them!

If I report this to the Ageless Spirit Heavenly Sect, let’s see if she dares to intervene again!

Fury burned in his chest, his blood-red eyes filled with loathing.

Feng Liu had made up his mind-he would have his revenge, no matter the cost.

The first step in his plan was clear: he would use the power of the You Clan to eliminate Gu Ran once and for all!

The events on Blackwood Island had taken place some time ago, and news of the incident had already reached Three Mountains Island.

To avoid making the You Clan hesitant to act-fearing that the mysterious powerhouse might still be lingering in the nearby sea-Feng Liu decided not to approach the patriarch of the You Clan directly.

Instead, he chose a different target: You Caigao.

You Caigao was a talented but rebellious cultivator, the very definition of a rogue.

He was straightforward, stubborn, and easily influenced-a perfect pawn in Feng Liu’s eyes.

If my guess is right, You Caigao should be enjoying himself with women in his private residence right now, Feng Liu thought.

Suppressing the simmering anger within him, Feng Liu took a deep breath and made his way to You Caigao’s home.

Before long, he arrived at a grand mansion.

Even from outside the main gate, he could hear the sound of women giggling and chatting, mixed with bursts of shrill laughter.

The decadent atmosphere of indulgence was almost palpable, even from where Feng Liu stood.

It was a scene he was all too familiar with.

He raised his hand and knocked firmly on the door.

Moments later, the door creaked open.

The guard at the entrance recognized Feng Liu immediately and invited him inside.

…

While this was unfolding, in another part of the city, Gu Ran wandered through the streets.

He quickly realized that the demonic beasts on Three Mountains Island had been nearly wiped out.  Only a distant area far from the main island still had a few scattered demonic beasts.

Gu Ran felt a twinge of disappointment but continued to gather information about the situation on other nearby islands.  He soon learned that the demonic beasts on those islands had been nearly eradicated as well, mirroring the situation on Three Mountains Island.  Given the consistency of the reports, Gu Ran decided not to move to another island.

Instead, he resolved to hunt in the vicinity of Three Mountains Island.

With his plan set, he restocked his supply of healing pills and dug deeper for more specific details.

After all, this was the open sea-where even a small error in navigation could lead him thousands of miles off course.

…

As time passed, half a day slipped by.

Feng Liu emerged from You Caigao’s mansion, his face a mix of emotions.

The You Clan was fully aware of the Feng Clan’s precarious position on the brink of extinction.

True to his reputation for terrible emotional sensitivity, You Caigao openly mocked and pitied Feng Liu, humiliating him on the spot.

Yet, for the sake of revenge, Feng Liu displayed extraordinary patience.

In the end, just as Feng Liu had anticipated, You Caigao took the bait completely.

He became deeply intrigued by the matter of Gu Ran.

The fact that the Ageless Spirit Heavenly Sect was also hunting Gu Ran greatly reduced You Caigao’s fear of the mysterious powerhouse.  The You Clan, after all, had the ability to communicate with the Ageless Spirit Heavenly Sect directly.

However, You Caigao had a bold plan.

He intended to capture Gu Ran himself before reporting it to the sect.  By doing so, his contribution would be far more significant.

If he simply provided the information to the Ageless Spirit Heavenly Sect upfront, he would likely only be credited with offering a lead.
