Chapter 395: Arrival at the Prosperous Stone Immortal Star
In no time, the army of a million cultivators was ready to go. Sun Tianlin pulled out a set of special crystal stones and crushed them one by one in a steady rhythm.

Jiang Chen understood what was happening right away—Sun Tianlin was sending signals back to the Prosperous Stone Immortal Star. These weren’t fancy communication tools; they could only send preset messages, nothing detailed or instant.

Sure enough, right after the crystals shattered, Sun Tianlin froze. Cold sweat beaded on his forehead. His heart dropped into his stomach.

Stupid! he thought. He had been so eager to get back home that he hadn’t even stopped to ask Jiang Chen for permission. What if Jiang Chen had misunderstood and decided to kill him on the spot?

Panicked, he turned to explain—but when he saw Jiang Chen’s calm, relaxed expression, he let out a quiet sigh of relief.

“My Lord,” he said quickly, “because we’re so far from the Prosperous Stone Immortal Star, regular transmission jade tokens won’t work. That’s why I had to use this method. I just sent word that the demon army’s been wiped out and told them to reopen the spatial channel so we can return.”

Jiang Chen gave him a small nod and a faint, knowing smile. “You’re in charge here. I’m going to get some rest,” he said, motioning toward the sea of cultivators before vanishing without a sound.

“Yes, my Lord,” Sun Tianlin replied right away, though his thoughts were a little less polite.

Cautious bastard, he muttered inwardly. He knew exactly what had happened—Jiang Chen had hidden himself among the crowd. And if anyone wanted to find him now, they would need someone at the Nirvana Cleansing realm or stronger.

…

Time passed, and about fifteen minutes later, a loud boom suddenly echoed through the sky. A swirling black hole ripped open in midair, sending out crackling black lightning that looked like giant tentacles tearing through the clouds.

A powerful spatial vortex quickly formed, radiating intense pressure in every direction. Many of the weaker cultivators nearby turned pale, struggling just to stay afloat in the sky.

After a few tense moments, the vortex settled and stabilized, forming a gateway to the Prosperous Stone Immortal Star.

Not long after, a group of cultivators stepped out from within the portal—every one of them at the Transcendence realm.

Leading them was an older man in red robes, his aura steady and strong. He was clearly at the peak of the Transcendence realm.

“Master Tianlin! It’s good to see you!” the group called out, visibly relieved once they recognized Sun Tianlin.

They were here to double-check things—just to make sure it was really Sun Tianlin and not some trick pulled by the demons.

“Everything clear on your end?” Sun Tianlin asked with a small nod. Now that Jiang Chen had left, his usual commanding tone returned.

“All clear. You’re free to proceed,” the red-robed elder said, stepping aside with a polite smile.

“Stick to the plan and move through the portal in formation!” Sun Tianlin barked, turning to the massive army behind him.

“Yes, sir!” came the thunderous reply from the million cultivators.

“Hold on—Master Tianlin!” the red-robed elder spoke up, a bit alarmed. “Aren’t you leaving anyone behind to guard the Immortal Martial Continent?”

“No need for concern,” Sun Tianlin said coldly. “Once we’re back on the Prosperous Stone Immortal Star, I’ll send troops as needed. We’ve won. We’re going home. And if you’re thinking of stopping us—don’t.”

His sharp gaze swept across the elder and his group like a blade.

“N-no, of course not,” the red-robed elder stammered, sweat breaking out on his forehead.

He knew full well—if Sun Tianlin wanted to, there was nothing he could do to stop him.

“Hmph.” Sun Tianlin let out a sharp snort and motioned toward the army below.

Right away, the million-strong army began moving in neat lines toward the spatial channel, entering one group at a time with practiced discipline.

Since Sun Tianlin was going with them, the portal had been opened wide enough to handle even Nirvana Peering realm cultivators with ease.

Blending in with the crowd, Jiang Chen slipped into the spatial channel without drawing attention. For a split second, everything went completely black—and then his vision returned.

He was standing in a huge underground hall, dimly lit but filled with energy.

High above him, the spatial portal still hovered, pulsing with power. Below it sat a massive array altar made up of several glowing formations, all working together to keep the channel open and stable.

Inside the altar, a group of formation masters were seated in deep concentration, controlling the flow of energy. Floating around the edges were several important-looking cultivators.

Among them were members of the powerful Sun Clan—Sun Tianlin’s cousin, Sun Tianxin, who was also at the Nirvana Peering realm, and Sun Tianlin’s wife. A few other top experts from the Prosperous Stone Immortal Star were present too, including three more Nirvana Peering realm cultivators.

Whoosh!

Like a flood, the cultivators poured out of the portal, landing on the stone floor of the underground hall in waves.

Jiang Chen quietly activated his Villain Eye, sweeping the area.

No reactions. No one stood out. These were just passersby. Clearly, none of them was a supporting character tied to a new protagonist.

The Prosperous Stone Immortal Star must have its own protagonist, Jiang Chen thought to himself. I’ll probably run into him soon.

There was nothing he could do about it—fate had already marked him as the destined villain.

Still, it was a small relief that no trap was waiting for him here in the underground hall.

Sun Tianxin and the others scanned the crowd pouring out of the portal, feeling relieved and proud as more and more Sun Clan members made it back in one piece.

But not everyone was smiling.

Standing near the portal, Sun Ji’s mother wore a face like ice, her eyes locked on the entrance. She was clearly waiting—for answers, and she wasn’t going to wait quietly.

As the last of the million-strong army stepped into the giant underground hall, the room felt full to bursting. Then, finally, Sun Tianlin and the red-robed elder appeared before the crowd.

“Sun Tianlin!” Sun Ji’s mother stormed forward, grabbing his arm in a death grip. Her voice rang out, sharp and furious. “Did you avenge my son?! Did you kill the one who murdered him?!”

“I did,” Sun Tianlin said without flinching. “The demons were behind it. I wiped them out—left nothing but dust behind.”

He lied without batting an eye. He knew the truth would ruin him. Admitting that Jiang Chen was still alive—and worse, that he had no power to stop him—would be like digging his own grave.

He could only grit his teeth and pretend. He would wait for the soul seed restriction to disappear before making any move against Jiang Chen.

“Avenged…” Sun Ji’s mother trembled, her whole body shaking with emotion. Her eyes welled up, a twisted sense of satisfaction creeping into her voice. “How did you do it? Did you make him suffer? Did you drag it out until he begged for death?!”

“Yes,” Sun Tianlin said, forcing a grim nod. “He died in agony. A truly miserable end.”

But just as quickly, her mood flipped. Her face contorted in rage, and she started shaking her head over and over. “No! No, that was too easy! Why didn’t you bring him back alive?! I wanted to do it myself—I wanted to make him suffer for thousands of years!”

This woman was no saint. Even someone as powerful as Sun Tianlin had trouble dealing with her.

Sun Ji’s mother was known for being cruel, selfish, and full of spite. She had spent years making people suffer—especially young, pretty girls—just because it amused her. Her name was infamous in the Purple Crest Immortal Sect.

The way she had raised her three sons—spoiled, arrogant, and vicious—said everything you needed to know about her.
