Chapter 819: World of Magi
Adam appeared behind the elder orc like a ghost, leaving behind a trail of shadows.
He held in his hand a sharp dagger shaped in the likeness of a raven’s feather. Drops of blood dripped from the black blade and fell to the ground, its sound causing the orcs to slowly slip into despair.
The youth was simply too fast! Like a phantom, he had appeared behind the elder orc. If he wanted to, he could have easily decapitated him. But he instead only chose to cut off his hand.
Meanwhile, the elder orc couldn’t stop his body from trembling in utter horror. Seeing the blood endlessly gushing out from his wrist caused him to reevaluate the situation.
He slowly turned around with both arms raised in surrender. He knew that he was no match for the raven-haired Magus.
The orc knelt down on the ground and muttered fearfully, “L-Lord Magus… what do you want?”
“I already told you what I want,” Adam muttered coldly. He flicked the dagger in his hand, casting off the bloodstains on its blade before storing it away inside his earrings.
“The map!” the orc blurted out. “Yes, yes, I will give you the map. In return, please… please spare me!”
With that said, he conjured a thick, rolled-up parchment made of leather. The moment Adam’s gaze landed on the parchment, his eyes narrowed.
Then, his lips curled into a cold smile. “Leather made from human skin, eh?”
The old orc’s entire body started to tremble violently. He raised his head and pleaded, “This… this…”
He tried to come up with an excuse, but the fear in his heart didn’t allow him to think straight. The orc couldn’t believe that he was feeling such terror in the face of a young human Magus.
The aura Adam was radiating was absolutely tyrannical, causing not only him but all the other orcs to gasp for air. A foreboding feeling welled up in their hearts, telling them that perhaps they wouldn’t make it to see the sunrise.
Adam slowly walked towards the old orc. He then grabbed the rolled up parchment, unfurled it and observed the map closely.
He nodded his head ever so slightly before rolling the parchment and keeping it away for the time being.
“You know, I had once participated in a war between your kind and mine,” Adam coldly stated. “It happened more than two decades ago. It was the first war that I had fought in.”
The elder orc blurted out in panic, “T-That wasn’t us! There are countless tribes in these mountains. The war you’re talking about was caused by the eastern tribes!”
Adam coldly looked down upon the orc with narrowed eyes. “And what about your tribe? Have you never raided human settlements? Have you… never used human skin to make maps?”
The elder orc’s heart was gripped by fear when he saw the youth suddenly conjure a dark staff. He hurriedly extended his hands, “My Lord, wait! I can tell you the location of an ancient artifact within these mountains if you promise to spare my—”
BAM!
Adam’s movements were a blur. Before the orc could even finish talking, he had already raised the staff and slammed it straight on his head.
The orc’s head instantly caved in. His skull cracked open from that single attack! But Adam wasn’t done yet. He raised the staff yet again and delivered another solid strike.
BAM!
He continued to viciously strike the Mana Vortex orc while gnashing his teeth in fury, “Using the skin of my people to make a map? And then handing over that map to me? You must’ve been out of your fuckin’ mind!”
Adam finally stopped after all that was left of the old orc was shattered bones, torn flesh, and a grotesque, unrecognizable corpse.
He exhaled slowly, wiping the warm blood from his face as the storm within him finally began to settle.
The fact that the orc had flayed a human and used their skin to make the map truly made him furious. He couldn’t remember the last time he had lost control of his emotions so badly.
The moment he withdrew his staff, the orcs who surrounded him suddenly snapped out of their senses.
When they saw how brutally their chief had been murdered, they couldn’t stop their bodies from trembling in horror. At that point, they didn’t care about anything but survival!
In a split second, they rose to their feet and scattered in all directions. They would do anything to escape from the devil in human clothing!

But before they could even cover a few meters, the gravity around them abruptly increased, and they found themselves kneeling on the ground.
The weaker ones lay sprawled on the ground, thier limbs trembling and bones creaking beneath the weight of pressure and fear.
Rank 2 Spell: Amplify Gravity!
“Who said you could leave?” Adam’s cold voice drifted into thier ears.
The orcs began to sob loudly, begging to be spared. No matter how much they struggled, they were unable to move even an inch under the weight of gravity.
“If you raise your weapon to take a life, then you must also be ready to forfeit your own,” Adam muttered coldly.
With a flick of his finger and a simple hand seal, he unleashed his spell.
Rank 1 Spell: Magic Missiles!
Dozens of Magic Spells materialized in the air above him. With another simple wave of his hand, they shot through the air and pierced the heads of the orcs with deadly accuracy.
Within moments, the screams of the orcs died down, and the jungle returned to silence.
Adam remained standing amidst dozens of orc corpses, his gaze blank and his mind a mess.
Needless to say, the encounter with the orcs thoroughly soured his mood. He conjured the crude map, eyes narrowing as he studied its grotesque texture.
After memorizing its contents, he burned it to cinders with a flick of his finger. The scent of charred flesh lingered, causing him to frown.
The thought of carrying a map made from human skin made his stomach turn.
Adam turned his gaze to the mangled corpse of the Rank 3 orc, scanning for anything of worth. He crouched beside the body, completely unfazed by the blood, flesh, and gore, and began searching for valuable items.
Every weapon, spell material components, and the storage pouch were taken without hesitation.
He rose to his feet and turned away, not sparing a single glance at the carnage he left behind.
As he ventured deeper into the heart of the Murky Mountains, he could already hear the grotesque sounds of hungry beasts growling and tearing the corpses apart behind him.
In many ways, the Murky Mountains were a reflection of the world of Magi itself.
It was a brutal realm where strength dictated fate.
And the strong devoured the weak…
Without remorse.
