Chapter 824: Convergence Sigil
The runic formation Adam was working on was called the Convergence Sigil.
Back in Ravenfell, he had created a similar formation inside his cottage behind Saratoga. He had also given his students portable disks containing this formation.
However, all of them were small-scale. They paled in comparison to what Adam was attempting to do now.
This project would undoubtedly be the biggest he had ever worked on. After all, he would be carving runes all around the mountain and enveloping it within this grand runic formation.
To gather the ambient mana from the surrounding environment and funnel it into a central node, which, in this case, would be the cave at the peak of the mountain where Berger was practicing mindfulness.
The gathered mana could be used for various things, such as storing for future use, refining for arcane purposes, or using it to power a spell, an artifact, or even a ritual.
In this case, however, the gathered mana would be refined by Berger in order to advance towards the Mana Core Rank!
The overall layout of the Convergence Sigil was highly complex and required a decent understanding of rune magic. Fortunately, it was within Adam’s capabilities.
Not to mention, it needed a large amount of magical resources!
This runic formation would span a wide, circular area, completely encompassing the mountain. The runes would be carved on the ground, boulders, trees, and into metallic disks.
It would consist of four primary rings, interlaced with runic symbols and geometric pathways.
Currently, Adam was working on the outermost ring, also known as the net of absorption.
This ring was composed of collector runes, drawn in a repeated pattern every forty-five degrees, with each symbol shaped like a spiraling vortex.
The runes here focused on drawing and absorbing mana and making it flow inward. Thin channel lines would radiate inward from each collector rune like spokes in a wheel, drawing ambient mana into the runic formation.
The second ring was called the elemental filtration array.
This ring would be occupied by a rotating ring of runes, filtering mana by the elemental type—fire, water, air, earth, and wood.
It would be laid in the shape of a pentagram, encompassing the entire surface area of the mountain.
Furthermore, each of the five points would serve as anchor points, which would be used to stabilize the large influx of energy. The preceious magical ingredients that Blackie had given him would be placed in these anchor points to achieve maximum efficiency.
The third ring, the circuit of compression, would contain tight loops and spirals, etched in silver or glowstone, channeling filtered mana into tighter and denser currents.
The runes here would focus on compression, stabilization, and accelerated flow.
Once activated, the mana would move along spiral grooves toward the peak of the mountain, visibly glowing brighter as it approached the core.
Of course, in order not to draw any attention, this phenomenon would be hidden by an additional set of runes that would focus on concealing visions and sounds.
However, the abundant mana surrounding the mountain would still end up drawing the beasts nearby.
But Berger would still remain safe and sound since he was being protected by not only his mysterious mentor, but also Blackie who commanded an army of thousands of powerful magical wolves.
The fourth ring, known as the core of the convergence, would be drawn around the cave at the summit of the mountain.
Five Grade 4 ingredients, representing the five fundamental elements of nature, countless Grade 3 magical ingredients, and a hexagonal focus crystal would be placed at the entrance of the cave where Berger was breaking through.
Furthermore, the cave would be surrounded by a binding triangle inscribed with the trinity of runes that symbolized unity, anchor, and storage.
Once all the rings were established, the runic formation could finally be activated. Of course, the activation still had to be done methodically through a metallic disk. And this disk would be controlled by Blackie.
After a little more than a week, Adam had finally finished establishing the outermost ring, the net of absorption, along the base of the mountain.
It was a very hectic and time-consuming process, to say the least. Adam had worked day and night to establish the outer ring, only taking rest back in the cave when he absolutely needed it.

On this day, he had climbed further up the base of the mountain to begin working on the second ring, the elemental filitertation array.
He had already finished inscribing complex runes on the metal disks that would serve as the anchor points. He figured that setting up all the anchor points and binding them to the Grade 4 magical ingredients would take about another week.
The youth had dug a large pit on the ground, designating it as the place to establish one of the five anchor points. This point would be bound to the element of earth.
Adam placed a large crystal at the center of the pit, then began carving intricate runes around it. Several hours later, he retrieved the metallic disk and placed it near the crystal.
With a series of complex hand seals that took him a few minutes to complete, he bound the crystal and the disk together.
He then emerged out of the pit and, with a simple spell, sealed it beneath a layer of earth once more.
“Haah, finally done with the first anchor point,” he muttered under his breath as he stretched his back and limbs.
Then, he remained silently standing before the covered-up pit. A few seconds later, his lips parted, and the winds carried his voice.
“You know, you should at least introduce yourself.”
No answer was heard. Adam did not know where this mysterious person was, as he was unable to sense him even with his Sphere of Resonance activated. But his sixth sense told him that he was being secretly observed.
Adam turned around, a faint smile adorning his lips. He scanned the surroundings, still not quite sure where this person was.
“That’s quite the concealment magic you’ve got there, my lord,” he said with a light smile. “Usually, I pride myself on my observational capabilities. But this time…”
Adam took a deep breath and closed his eyes. Instead of depending on his Sphere of Resonance, however, he chose to use his raw instincts.
Time seemed to have come to a standstill, and the colors around him seemed to have faded to nothingness.
Finally, after what seemed like forever, yet also an instant, his eyes snapped open, revealing a bright glint flashing in them.
In one swift motion, he retrieved Nighthollow from his earrings and hurled it towards a specific point in the distance.
CLANG!
The feather-shaped dagger struck an invisible barrier before falling to the ground.
Adam’s lips curled into a smirk. “There you are.”
Moments later, an aged man draped in regal robes emerged out of nothingness, silent and spectral, like a ghost.
The elderly man glanced at the black dagger lying beside his feet with a flat expression. Then, he shifted his gaze towards Adam.
“It’s not concealment magic,” he said, his voice distant, almost indifferent.
“It’s sealing magic.”
