Greatest Legacy of the Magus Universe - Chapter 902
Chapter 902: Long Way
Sitting inside the carriage that led to one of the most luxurious neighborhoods in the Uptown Quarter, Edward found his hand trembling ever so slightly.
Across from him, his grandfather, Edwin Turner, noticed this and couldn’t help but show a taunting grin, “What is it, Eddie? Scared to meet the Dark King?”
Edward lowered his head, glancing at his trembling hand. His lips slowly curled into a grin, “No, I’m just… excited!”
Hearing that response, Lisa, who was sitting beside him, couldn’t help but let out a soft chuckle.
Meanwhile, Biden, Edwin’s pupil, couldn’t seem to understand how his friend, a mere Mana Liquefaction Magus, could be excited to meet the strongest, if not one of the strongest, Mana Vortex Magi on this continent.
If it were him… he’d surely be nervous.
Marcella Ridley, Lisa’s mentor, occupied the seat beside Edwin. She looked at Edward and smiled faintly, “I take it that you and the Dark King have a long history.”
Edward awkwardly scratched the back of his head. “Yeah, I guess so. We used to be roommates during our first year at Clover Academy.”
Recalling his conversation with his mother a few years ago, the blue-eyed youth couldn’t help but laugh out loud.
“My mother calls him her third child.” He grinned.
“Ah, a family friend, I see,” said Marcella, shooting a curious glance toward her colleague, Edwin.
“Heh, he’s a benefactor of my Turner Family,” said Edwin with a warm smile on his face.
Soon, the carriage walked past the main entrance to the Constantine Estate. Edward peered outside the window and noticed over a hundred people gathered outside the gates.
The guards looked annoyed, having to deal with them day and night.
“Are we not going through the main gates?” Edward knocked on the wooden wall behind him, curiously asking the carriage driver.
A small panel in the wall slid open, allowing the driver to address the passengers inside.
“Master has instructed us to escort the guests to the secret entrance,” said the man politely.
“You see, my lord, there are too many crazy people out there. Who knows what they might do once the gates open? And it’s not like the guards can use force against them.
“They have to handle the matter very delicately. Also, Master doesn’t want too much attention drawn to the happenings inside the estate.”
Apart from the fact that the people within the carriage were slightly surprised by just how far these fanatics would go to catch a glimpse of the Dark King, they also gleaned another information from the driver’s words.
“Us?” Edward asked with an arched eyebrow. “Are there other carriage drivers bringing in more guests?”
“That is correct, my lord,” the driver said politely.
“Apart from your esteemed selves, guests from the Baja High Forest have been invited, along with Master’s three students.”
A flicker of understanding flashed in Edward’s eyes.
The guests from Baja were most likely the Ambermind twins and their mentor, Elrod Firvele. As for Adam’s students, they were naturally Eleiney, Aiden, and Arthur.
“Eddie,” Lisa suddenly called out to him.
“Hm?” Edward turned towards her. He could see hints of excitement in her emerald eyes. “What is it? Haha, are you excited to meet him as well?”
“That I am.” Lisa nodded. “But more than that… I’m excited to finally meet his sister!”
“Oh, right!” Edward’s blue eyes lit up. “Aiden and Arthur did say that his sister was staying with him here.”
Hearing their conversation, Edwin Turner asked curiously, “Adam has a sister?”

He always knew the raven-haired youth to be an orphan. In fact, that was one of the reasons why his daughter, Elia, doted on the youth so much.
“Grandfather, they’re not blood-related,” said Edward.
“Ah, I see.” The elderly Magus nodded in understanding.
He was quite curious to meet his sister. He wanted to see just what kind of person was able to raise such a fine young man.
Several minutes later, after circling the block, the carriage arrived at the concealed side gate that Adam had entered through yesterday.
Getting off the carriage, the Magi from the Tower noticed a middle-aged man dressed in crisp and clean garments, waiting for them with a polite smile.
Upon seeing them approach the gate, he stepped forward and offered a respectful bow. “Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. I am Rowan, Lord Constantine’s assistant and the head butler of the estate. Please, allow me to escort you inside.”
A mortal? Edwin thought with a peculiar look in his eyes.
Considering the Dark King’s strength and vast influence, Edwin figured that he would, at the very least, employ a Mana Liquefaction Magus to be his assistant.
“Very well, Rowan. Lead the way.” The elderly Magus gestured.
Upon entering through the gate cleverly hidden behind the trees and bushes, the Magi from the Tower were greeted by well-dressed maids who offered them wine.
Wine brewed by Adam, of course.
Rowan guided the guests along the marble pathway leading up to the main manor. On the way, he introduced the various amenities found within the estate.
There was a hint of pride in his voice, as he had technically been the one to oversee the construction of this breathtaking property.
Needless to say, the Magi couldn’t help but admire the beauty of the place. They could tell just how much time, money, and other resources must have gone into creating such a magnificent estate.
Edward’s eyes glistened with emotion. He recalled the first time he had seen Adam. It was outside the Clover Academy. They were standing in line to take the academy’s entrance examination.
At the time, Adam was wearing cheap clothes that had seen better days. Because of his appearance, he was being bullied by other kids in line.
But now…
Looking around at the beauty and opulence that permeated every inch of the estate, Edward couldn’t help but smile.
That bastard… he’s truly come a long way!
And considering how much of a cheapskate his friend really way, Edward was convinced that he must have an enormous amount of money—several times more than what it would take to build a place like this.
Given that the estate was very big, it took them a while to reach the main manor.
“Rowan, where’s Adam?” Edward asked eagerly.
The middle-aged man turned to him and smiled. “He’s right there, my lord.”
Edward followed the direction the butler had gestured toward… and there he was.
Standing atop the grand marble staircase was a striking, crimson-haired beauty, and beside her stood the one they called…
The Dark King.
Adam’s gaze matched Edward’s. Then, his lips curled into a mischievous smile.
“Long time no see… Fatty.”
