Chapter 904: Worldly Affairs
The guests from the Tower of Daybreak were the last ones to arrive.
Now that everyone had arrived, they all moved to the backyard, where elegant arrangements had already been made to accommodate them all.
It was the season of spring, and a calm and soothing breeze drifted through the air. The decision to hold the gathering outdoors, rather than within enclosed walls, proved far more refreshing.
Nature itself seemed to welcome the occasion.
Besides, Adam was planning to take them all inside the manor later to show them around. He had poured a large amount of resources into this beautiful place.
Naturally, he wanted to show off a little…
About a dozen guests were invited, all of whom shared a close relationship with Adam.
A warm and celebratory atmosphere filled the air as the crowd naturally dispersed into small, lively groups.
Lisa, Atiel, and Eleiney were chatting with Anna and Ada in the gazebo by the pond.
Edward, Arthur, Aiden, and Daryl hung out with Adam, occupying an open seating area on the other side of the pond and having a good time over wine.
Meanwhile, the elderly Mana Vortex Magi—Edwin, Marcella, Elrod, and Kaspar—sat a little further away, discussing the arcane arts in a relaxed manner.
They were far too old to be mingling with youngsters.
Under Rowan’s meticulous supervision, the maids and servants ensured that every guest was attended to with utmost care and precision.
A long, elegant counter had been set up where renowned chefs from the city skillfully prepared an array of fresh delicacies.
The tantalizing aroma of sizzling meats, herbs, and exotic spices filled the air. Nearby, stewards circulated with silver trays, offering an endless flow of fine wine, each bottle more exquisite than the last.
Freshly prepared food, magnificent wine, and the soft radiance of the twin moons created a splendid setting for reuniting with old friends and meeting new ones.
Inside the gazebo, the young women looked at Anna with sparkling eyes.
First and foremost, she was Adam’s sister—someone who raised him. But more importantly, she was a Magus from Europa. And not just any Magus… she was royalty!
Eleiney, Lisa, and Atiel had so many questions for her. After all, they’d heard great things about the Europa Continent. Some even claimed that it was a paradise for Magi.
But there was one question that all three of them were most eager to have answered.
“Anna, how did you meet Mentor?” Eleiney asked, excited.
She didn’t even know that her mentor had a sister. Now, it turned out that her mentor’s sister had a very deep and influential background. She couldn’t help but feel greatly curious.
Anna turned to the brown-haired young woman and smiled warmly. Perhaps, out of the three, she found herself liking Eleiney the most because she was her brother’s student.
With a reminiscent look flickering in her ruby eyes, she softly said, “It was more than twenty years ago that I met Adam.”
She paused, thinking of the events that led to that meeting, her eyes flashing with complicated emotions.
“As for how I met him?” She said with a faint smile. “Let’s just say… it was a twist of fate.”
The ladies understood that Anna didn’t wish to talk much about the circumstances behind her meeting with Adam.
Ada, who was sitting beside her, displayed a complicated smile. After all, she knew the exact reason why Anna had fled her kingdom and arrived at Ulier all those years ago.
Thankfully, that event is far behind us, she thought.
I hope…

She soon threw these depressing thoughts to the back of her mind.
Ignoring what the women were talking about, she turned her head to the other side of the pond, gazing at the handsome raven-haired young man with a dreamy look in her eyes.
I want him~
“Anna, can you tell us more about your kingdom?” Lisa asked curiously. “Or the region where your kingdom lies. How is that place any different from Ulier?”
Seeing the sparks of wonder in the blonde young lady’s emerald eyes, Anna smiled. “The Ignisra Kingdom lies in the southern part of Europa. It isn’t that much different from Ulier. Although I’d say it has more Mana Core Magi.”
She paused for a moment before correcting herself, “Or rather, I should say it has a greater number of publicly recognized Mana Core Magi. As for those who live in seclusion… no one truly knows their true numbers.”
It was the same for the Ulier Continent. The officially recognized Mana Core Magi hailed from the Acadian Royal Family, the Four Pillars of the Empire, and lastly Baja High Forest.
The number of experts in seclusion could be greater than the official number or not. No one really knew…
“That is not to say Ulier is any weaker than Europa,” Anna added.
“A continent’s strength is not just measured by the number of Mana Core Magi it has, but several other factors, the most important of them being alliances.”
Atiel nodded with a knowing look in her eyes. “Indeed,” she said softly. “The alliance between Ulier and Nahua is deep. There are even rumors that the current Emperor of Acadia has a close relationship with the most powerful Magi of Nahua.”
“Ah, I didn’t know that.” Eleiney displayed a pondering look on her face. “That would explain why the two continents have always had such good trade and diplomatic relations.”
“The combined might of Ulier and Nahua is enough to rival Europa,” Anna stated calmly.
She took a light sip of wine from the crystal goblet before continuing, “As for Indus… you already know. It is both a nation and a continent, ever aloof and always independent in worldly affairs.”
“The fifth continent, Mabi, is uninhabited,” Ada suddenly chimed in. “Well… at least by humans.”
She paused before continuing, “Those few explorers and adventurers lucky enough to return from that dangerous continent all say the same thing – it teems with magical beasts.”
This knowledge was fairly common across the world. For comparison, Mabi was to Tron what the Murky Mountains were to Ulier.
A no-man’s land in every sense of the word!
A place where only fools or the… blind and truly desperate dared to tread.
Eleiney set down her goblet, then turned to the two Magi from Europa. Her eyes flashed with fascination and curiosity as she asked, “How about Yen-Lu? Have the two of you been there before?”
Yen-Lu was the most mysterious one out of all the continents on Tron, after all. So, not only Eleiney, but even Lisa and Atiel were very fascinated with it.
Hearing that question, Anna let out a soft, melodic chuckle.
“It is impossible to reach Yen-Lu directly from Europa,” she said. “Anyone wishing to go there must brave the sea route. And even then, the journey is fraught with danger. The odds of survival?”
She paused, her smile tinged with solemnity. “Barely one in ten make it back alive.”
Atiel couldn’t help but frown. “Impossible to reach Yen-Lu from Europa? But aren’t they… neighboring continents?”
“That they are.” Anna nodded. “But the two are divided by a long stretch of forbidden land, a place so treacherous that not even Mana Core Magi dare to set foot in it.”
Ada’s voice cut through the air, tinged with grim solemnity. “Some say it’s countless times more dangerous than the Mabi continent.”
“There have been accounts of people returning from Mabi,” added the crimson-haired princess, her eyes distant. “But that forbidden zone between Yen-Lu frandom Europa… no one has ever returned alive.”
A hush fell over the group. Then, Eleiney asked, her voice barely a whisper, “That place… what is it called?”
Anna met her gaze and solemnly replied:
“The Dark Valley.”
