Chapter 925: Vengeful Fury
The undead knight, cold and unfeeling as ever, continued to decimate the Mana Liquefaction-level snakes that lunged at him.
Even when swarmed by more than two dozen of these formidable beasts, nothing could stop him.
He moved with eerie grace, weaving through the battlefield and effortlessly evading the venomous attacks of these serpents.
And when a serpent did manage to sink its fangs into the undead knight, his aged but unyielding armor held firm. Firm enough for him to strike the serpent and end it.
The only thing he needed to avoid was being surrounded.
So long as he didn’t fight an opponent at the Mana Vortex Rank, the knight was nearly invincible.
The only reason the first undead knight had fallen was because of the sudden sneak attack.
Ambushed by the black serpent, he had been instantly ensnared, giving the other snakes a chance to devour him.
But this one…
This one wouldn’t make the same mistake.
Ducking the attack of a snake flying at him with incredible speed, he retreated several steps backward, swinging his warhammer and pummeling every other serpent that came at him.
Very soon, he drew the serpents away from his master’s battlefield. The knight’s plan was to keep evading and attacking, finishing these creatures off one by one.
And then… he could join Zashi in battle.
Seconds turned to minutes as he pummeled one serpent after another, all while steadily retreating. Bit by bit, the number of these Mana Liquefaction-level creatures began to dwindle.
But he had made one small oversight.
Or rather, it was Zashi who bore the fault.
Undead creatures, especially those bound to a necromancer, were cold and emotionless. But more importantly, they operated solely under the directives of their masters.
These undying beings lacked autonomy.
No will of their own. No independent thought.
The undead knight had been given a simple directive: lure that portion of the serpents away from Zashi’s battlefield, eliminate them, and return.
That was all that echoed in the knight’s mind—or whatever remained of it.
Lure the serpents away.
Kill them.
Return to master.
Amidst the three commands that guided his every action, he failed to notice a hidden danger lying in wait, ready to strike as he retreated from the serpents.
Just as the undead knight came within striking range, Anna lunged forward, her enhanced physique propelling her low across the ground, her sword poised to strike.
The blade of her sword erupted in flames, but these were no ordinary flames. They burned with a faint golden hue and radiated a sacred, otherworldly aura.
The instant these flames ignited, a jolt of dread surged through the undead knight.
A terror unlike anything he had ever known gripped him, an instinctive warning that the fire could end him.
These flames, after all, were not ordinary.

Born from the Song of Immortal Flame and infused with an otherworldly essence, they carried the wrath of the heavens themselves.
To the living, they were warm and empowering. Yet, to the undead, they were annihilation incarnate.
In the presence of these flames, even the most powerful of undead felt their strength falter, their instincts scream, and the pull of death come once more.
That is why when the undead knight felt the sudden emergence of these flames, his instinct wasn’t to turn around and face the new opponent, but to flee!
However, it was already too late.
Anna had already closed the distance, her enhanced physique allowing her to move with blinding speed. And thanks to Ada’s artifacts, she was able to sneak up on her enemy.
With the Immortal Flames cloaking her blade and her ruby eyes gleaming with unwavering resolve, she struck.
She aimed with precision and targeted the most vulnerable joint in the undead knight’s armor—the greaves.
SLASH!
At once, the flaming blade tore through the dark, weathered metal, the sacred fire seeping into the exposed breach.
With a graceful swing of her sword, she had severed the legs of the undead knight, causing him to miserably fall to the ground.
The undead knight let out a guttural roar… not of pain, but of pure terror!
Anna’s sacred flames had begun their slow, relentless work. They devoured the undead knight’s necrotic flesh beneath his knees and began to purge the deathly magic that sustained him.
The crimson-haired princess knew one thing for certain: her strike alone wouldn’t be enough to finish him.
She was still a Mana Liquefaction Magus, after all. There was no way she could destroy an undead warrior an entire rank above her through sheer force alone.
But incapacitation?
That was a different story.
And she had succeeded. The knight’s legs were crippled, his movements hindered, and his once-menacing presence severely diminished.
The rest…
She left to Adam’s serpents.
HIIISSSSSS!!!
These Mana Liquefaction-level serpents slithered past her, recognizing the scent of their summoner lingering on her.
Without hesitation, they bared their fangs, thier vertical pupils gleaming with cruel intent, and lunged at the undead knight writhing on the ground.
In moments, he was buried beneath a writhing mass of scales and poisons.
The armor that once withstood blades and spells alike began to crack and shatter under their relentless assault.
Soon, they tore through the rotting flesh beneath, feasting without mercy.
And yet… none of them dared to approach the severed legs, the site scorched by Anna’s flames.
Those flames reeked of danger.
Even for them.
Within moments, nothing was left of the undead knight, nothing but his severed legs, still smoldering with traces of sacred flame.
Once the serpents finished their grim feast, they slithered away, returning to the battlefield where their kin continued to clash with the undead horde.
Left behind was Anna, kneeling on the ground, her chest heaving as she struggled to catch her breath.
Her face was pale with mana exhaustion. She hadn’t had much to begin with, and nearly half of it had gone into that one strike against the undead knight.
“Not yet…” she muttered through clenched teeth.
Using her sword as a crutch, she pushed herself to her feet, swaying slightly before steadying her stance.
She closed her eyes for a brief moment, sending her perception inward. Her reserves were dangerously low, but she had just enough…
Enough to activate the concealment artifact one more time, and to ignite her blade once more.
And she already knew who her next target was.
Her gaze shifted towards the distant battlefield where Hayes Ballard was still locked in combat with the Mana Vortex-level black serpent.
Her ruby eyes blazed with vengeful fury. And her voice was low but laced with ruthless resolve.
“Your soul… is mine!”
