Chapter 993: Fish Soup?
Battle of words.
“The fish soup sold here is really delicious.” “I heard from my friend that the chef of this small shop is really skilled.
But never did I think that he would be this skilled, this fish soup is really good.” “I really have to admit it, I have never eaten a soup as good as this one.” Praises were flying around all over the small stall which was set up in a small city of the Purple Dynasty Star. The customers who came to drink the finest delicacy which was actually a bowl of fish soup after hearing the praises from their friends, family and loved ones, were filled with nothing but great pleasure.
Everyone showered the chef with the finest possible praise that they could think of after drinking as many bowls of soup.
These praises would have brought any chef a sense of satisfaction and happiness and yet Ling Chu who was being appreciated for his skills, was not happy.
He knew he should be overjoyed, after all, the fish soup that he made received so many good remarks but Ling Chu who had drank or at least tasted the data of Mo Qiang’s fish soup, knew that something was missing.
As Ling Chu knew that he was missing something he could not bring himself to accept the praises offered to him.
How could he when the thing that he created was below the level of mediocrity?
His customers were praising him because they had never tasted what a bowl of real fish soup tasted like and it was better to not even start on the grilled fish that Ling Chu had burned again and again.
And if he somehow managed to temper with the heat, the grilled fish would only cook on the outside and not the inside. Ling Chu had no idea how to make the cuts and even though there was a rather detailed video of it on the All Hail Mother Nature site, he still needed to get the hang of it.
After all, the chefs of this world relied on robots to make the cuts, chops and every other small job.
Ling Chu did not even know when was the last time he held a knife in his hands.
Of course, if someone else was in his shoes then they would have been so overjoyed by these praises, that their heads would have turned twice the size of their current one.
Thus, it was a good thing that it was Ling Chu who was being praised by these people.
“This is not it either,” muttered Ling Chu as he took one more sip of the fish soup and placed the bowl back on the aisle of the kitchen. The surge of warmth he had felt back then when he had just taken a mock sip of the fish soup was missing.
And underneath all the spices there was still a tinge of fishy taste.
A look of pure frustration flashed in his eyes as he looked at the above-average soup that he had cooked. What mistakes did he make this time?
Was it the peppercorn or was it the salt?
Maybe he did not stew the soup for the right amount of time.
Though Ling Chu had tried to get the general idea of cooking the fish soup by watching the small clip where Mo Qiang had cooked the fish soup- there was something that he was missing.
Ling Chu had no idea what it was but he was not going to stop now.
He just needed to find a way to get to the Dead Star.
If only he was allowed to travel to that star without a special permit.
As the permit required the guarantee of his parents, Ling Chu could not visit the Dead Star where Mo Qiang lived.
Just why was the woman still living at that Dead Star?
Wasn’t her mother cleared off all charges? Then the Mo family should have just come back to the Imperial Star instead of living at the star where criminals and their families who were exiled lived.
However, since he couldn’t make Mo Qiang or the Mo family move from the Dead Star, he could only wait for an opportunity.

Ling Chu sighed.
He wished he could just stumble into Mo Qiang.
“What do you mean by that this soup is not as delicious as you had the last time?
Do you think you are someone from the royal family?” While Ling Chu was trying to figure out where he was going wrong, the sound of a quarrel came from outside.
He frowned and turned around to look at the five women who were quarrelling with one another.
“What?
Can’t I even speak the truth now?” The woman who was being questioned did not even flinch under the loud voice of the other women who were looking down on her.
Instead of feeling offended, the woman seemed to be annoyed.
She pulled her clothes free of the grabby hands of the other woman and said, “I was not lying when I said that the soup doesn’t taste as good as I had at the Dead Star.” “My mistress allowed us to drink a few bowls of soup when we were working for her family and it was better than this!” The woman snorted as she finally freed herself from the grasp of the angry woman who seemed offended on Ling Chu’s behalf. “If you don’t like it then don’t drink it, why do you have to insult the chef like this?” The other woman said angrily.
She was pulled away by her friends as anyone with eyes could see that the woman with whom the scrawny woman was trying to pick a fight, was rather strong with her tall build and powerful physique.
The tall woman snorted and said, “Humph, who wants to drink it?
I came here because one of my colleagues said that the fish soup here was good.
Who would have known that it was just big talk!” “You!”
