Kyle was in over his head but the idea didn’t make him recoil in fear because he didn’t have a father present in his life but this child needed a proper life.

But a scream in his room made Kyle dash there, the kid was screaming and thrashing around the place like a demon had entered her tiny body.

Kyle noticed she was still asleep so this must be a night terror.

He knew not to wake her up aggressively and sat at the edge of the bed, placing his hand on her head.

It was hot, like her body was giving into something it shouldn’t be but it was normal.

There is a state where your body is on high alert and your immune system works overtime but the moment the environment changes.

You’re hit with all kinds of problems but Kyle knew it was too early to draw a conclusion but he wasn’t going to let it escalate either. And vice-versa.

Kyle rushed to get a towel and placed it over her head to dampen the fever.

He had an idea how to do this because he took care of himself when he was little, especially when he fell sick.

Of course, that only pertained to sickness that he could treat himself.

“She is burning up…!” Kyle thought to himself but he heard the doorbell ring soon after.

Kyle wondered who it could be but whoever it was, there was a chance that they could help him.

Even though Kyle had the necessary knowledge to deal with this.

“I’m coming!” Kyle exclaimed before rushing to the door, he hoped it would either be Calista or Jane but neither had called to inform him of their arrival.

Kyle didn’t even look through the peephole and instantly opened the door to see who was behind the door.

And he saw someone he didn’t wish to see, it was Aiysha. This woman had caused him enough problems so why couldn’t she respect him enough to stay away from him?

This was driving Kyle nuts and he didn’t wish for something like this to derail him.

His first thought was to slam the door on her but that would be too much, he had to deal with this civilly.

“What can I help you with?” Kyle asked but Aiysha looked hesitant to speak.

“I heard screaming and wanted to see if everything was alright?” Aiysha asked but once again, she was dressed in revealing clothes.

“What the fuck is her problem!?” Kyle thought to himself but was this some sick game that Jones and she liked playing?

“Everything is fine,” Kyle responded but the tone he used, Aiysha got the message that he didn’t want her here.

“Look Kyle…” Aiysha began, knowing she owed him an explanation for what had happened.

“You don’t need to explain yourself but-!” Their conversation was interrupted as Jasmine screamed once again.

Kyle rushed back inside but Aiysha trailed behind him because this was escalating rather quickly.

But this also showed she was no longer in survival mood, Aiyhsa saw a damp towel over her head and realized that the kid must not be feeling well.

“I-It is fine Jasmine, I’m here!” Kyle said but Aiysha stood back and could hear the fear in Kyle’s voice.

“We need to get her to the hospital,” Aiysha said but Kyle shook his head to dismiss this.

“No, I don’t want her to go through that,” Kyle said because Jasmine had the notion that the hospital was to fix people and if she went there.

She would assume that she had something that needed to be fixed.

“Move aside,” Aiysha instructed, placing her hand to feel her temperature. Despite Kyle having all the knowledge to deal with it, he looked at Aiysha hopeful.

“Well?” Kyle asked Aiysha but she sighed as she slowly took off the piece of cloth on her forehead before scooping her up.

“Hey! Where are you going?” Kyle asked.

“To the shower, I need to have her sit under it,” But as Aiysha carried her, Jasmine’s eyes narrowly opened.

“….Mama?” Jasmine muttered but she was too weak to say any other thing.

Kyle began to wonder if it was the food she ate at the hospital but that wasn’t possible.

Jasmine’s eyes closed right away but Aiysha didn’t hear the words that escaped her lips, it came out as a muffle.

Kyle watched Aiysha take her into the shower and suddenly, he found himself in a position he didn’t wish to be in.

Aiysha had managed to not only get into his house but was now helping him with the kid.

He didn’t want any more misunderstanding with Jones either but this was out of his control.

He waited for Aiysha and the shower was fixed so there was no risk of them running out of water. But would that be enough?

The ladies had fun outside despite their ulterior motives. Jane was gushing about Kyle revealing information to Calista that she was oblivious to but it hurt Calista’s pride because if Jane knew all of this about him then there was no telling how close these two were.

Calista at that moment perceived Jane to be a threat and it was only a matter of time before Kyle threw her away.

However, she found it strange that Jane was unaware that he owned the nightclub despite Ella’s awareness.

But Ella never spoke about Kyle in a suggestive way to imply she was involved with him as well.

It was time to call it a day because Jane hadn’t caught on and didn’t take Calista pointing out he owned the club to heart because she knew Kyle would tell her whatever he wanted to at his time.

She wasn’t in a relationship with him and she trusted him enough to know he must have had his reasons for doing whatever it was he was doing.

It wasn’t that Jane didn’t connect the dots or couldn’t but she didn’t bother doing so.

The ladies called it a day and Calista offered to meet back up at her place but both of them declined because they were spent.

Ella was also wary of Calista, she was a lot trickier than she had thought.
