Chapter 239: Was He The Happiest Today?
Their fun continued.

After playing at the dreamy two-story carousel with pastel-colored unicorn, Lariette and Ruediger headed to the drop tower next. The final exhilarating plunge didn’t stop them from having fun.

“Hahaha! We looked so funny!”

An excited Lariette cackled once she saw the photos taken by the theme park’s staff. She and Ruediger quickly agreed when the young man asked if they wanted a photography service at the drop tower.

“You looked as if you cried,” Ruediger pointed to one of the photos, laughing, “Did you?”

“No! I didn’t cry!” Lariette quickly refuted Ruediger, her cheeks puffing, “Look at this phone. You looked as if your soul left.”

“My soul is still perfectly intact, you know?”

The pair continued bantering as they walked away from the drop tower. They dropped by one of the stalls selling drinks and snacks.

The lines for each stall were quite long, but they patiently waited for their turns. Lariette insisted on accompanying Ruediger when he told her to wait at one of the benches.

After recharging their energy by eating and drinking, Ruediger led Lariette to a glowing hedge maze next. It took only a few minutes of walking from the stall area.

The attraction was called the Whimsy Maze. The walkthrough had hidden doors, talking animatronic flowers and surprises along the way. They took nearly an hour before successfully reaching the exit.

“Eddy! This place is made for you! Don’t you think so?”

Tugging at Ruediger’s arm, Lariette gestured in a direction. His laughter echoed beside her once he saw where she was pointing at.

A building with a sign spelling Whimsy Sports Arena stood before them. Without a doubt, various kinds of sports could be found here.

“This one looks fun,” Ruediger grinned, “Wanna play some games?”

“Sure!”

Lariette and Ruediger headed inside, finding many visitors had already gathered inside. They spent some time playing baseball and archery before moving to other games.

All the sports inside had a whimsical take on the original games, providing a more fun experience to the players.

“The bats were so cute~ Also the sparkly arrows. Hehe, even the balls had cute eyes.”

Ruediger looked at Lariette who fondly recalled the games they played just now as they made their way to one of the restaurants. The time had already reached noon.

“You hit three bullseyes in a row, Lettie,” Ruediger chuckled, “That’s my first time seeing you playing archery. You’re very good! But… should I be worried?”

Understanding what Ruediger meant, Lariette laughed before stating proudly, “I’ll just aim at scumbags. You’re not one so, don’t worry.”

“Oh? I’m honored to hear that.”

“Hahaha!”

Soon, Lariette and Ruediger arrived at Fairytale Bistro, the restaurant Lariette had been excited to try. The place looked like a cottage in a fairytale, decorated with pastel-colored furniture, soft glowing lanterns and little ornaments.

The waitress led the pair to the table reserved for them. Lariette quickly ordered a plate of pasta, a tower of macarons, mini rainbow swirl donuts and iced butterfly bloom tea.

“You ordered so much,” Ruediger pointed out once the waitress left. He draped his long-sleeved shirt on the chair beside him, leaving the T-shirt on.

“Of course~ You’re paying,” Lariette grinned. Propping her elbows on the table, she supported her face, “Anyway, all the rides were so much fun. Where should we go after lunch?”

Ruediger leaned lazily against the chair. Tapping his finger on the table, he said, “Let’s get some rest first. The cabin is nearby.”

“That’s a good idea too. My legs beg me to stop walking around already.”

Ruediger chuckled, amused by Lariette’s answer. That fact was undeniable. They hadn’t toured half of the theme park yet, but it was enough to make them exhausted.

‘Should I print the photos? Our selfies too.’

Thinking to himself, Ruediger recalled the digital photos taken by the staff, and also the passing visitors. Lariette was the one who suggested it first, to which he gladly agreed.

In some of them, Ruediger noticed he was staring at Lariette when the photos were being taken. Taking his eyes off her was hard.

The warm and sweet sensation he felt just by being by her side overflowed from his heart.

Ruediger quietly looked at Lariette who was now staring out of the windows. The sunlight streamed down the glass, illuminating the sheen of her chocolate brown locks.

He liked seeing the arcs of her lips as she smiled, also the way her eyes bowed into crescent moon shapes when she laughed.

He loved everything about her.

Shifting his gaze from Lariette to his hands, Ruediger smiled softly. Throughout the two months of their marriage, today was the day they held hands the most.

As promised, Ruediger brought Lariette to the cozy little cabin he had booked. The place was also equipped with a small washroom for the visitors’ comfort.

“Haa… My legs…”

Throwing herself on the couch, Lariette stretched out her arms and legs. Plush pillows accompanied her. The air-conditioning system blew cool air, helping them to chase away the heat.

“Want some?” Ruediger grabbed a few things from his backpack, one of them was a sealed muscle pain reliever, “You’ll feel better.”

“Ah! Thank you!”

Lariette quickly grabbed the box. After unsealing it, she folded her pants up to her knees and applied the reliever on her calves. Her action earned laughter from Ruediger.

“Take a nap,” Ruediger said, his voice soft, “We can continue playing in thirty minutes. You should take the bed.”

Rubbing her eyes, Lariette hugged one of the throw pillows, “Yeah… I’m sleepy. What about you? Where will you sleep?”

“I can use the couch. Hurry.”

“Okay…”

Ruediger watched Lariette lay on the single bed on the corner of the small cabin. Grabbing the pillow, he lowered himself on the couch. He could see her from where he was lying.

Could he say he was the happiest today?

But, he believed more happier days would come in the future.

Closing his eyes, the corners of Ruediger’s lips lifted slightly.
