Chapter 281: The Two Data Can Turn Me Into A Valedictorian
The golden glow from the string lights bathed Ruediger’s features, deepening the emerald hues of his eyes. Lariette saw the evident, intense desire swirling in his gaze. The touch under her lip seemed to burn, seeping the heat under her skin.

“Want to find out?”

The deep timbre of his voice echoed softly in the small space they shared, laced with hidden desire. She nodded once, allowing him to kiss her.

Ruediger held a breath. He gently cupped Lariette’s jaw with one hand, his thumb grazing from her lower lip to her cheekbone. A slight smirk tugged on his lips.

“If I ever disappoint you, Lettie, feel free to ask for an encore.”

Lariette laughed, her eyes glimmering with delight. She touched the side of Ruediger’s neck, her voice soft, “We’ll see. I might need more data.”

Ruediger’s warm breath fanned over Lariette’s face as he stifled his laughter. And then his lips met hers.

The first touch was soft. A gentle brush on her lower lip, a slight pause, and then followed by a deeper press.

Without any hesitation, Lariette encircled her arms around Ruediger’s neck, inviting him to come closer. He leaned into her, his hand lowered from her face to cradle the nape of her neck.

Lariette parted her lips wider, allowing Ruediger to deepen the kiss. It was slow and unhurried, but she sensed the restrain he still put on himself.

The string lights above swayed gently in the breeze, casting shifting patterns on them. The distant stars bore witness to the tender moment they shared.

Ruediger broke the kiss slowly, not before teasing Lariette by gently sucking her lower lip. His eyes were dazed, cheeks flushed, mirroring her own state.

“Well? How was it?” Ruediger asked, his voice hoarse.

Lariette opened her eyes, her fingers on Ruediger’s back curling. Her gaze lay on his lips before finding its way to his eyes.

“Not bad.”

Ruediger chuckled, “Only ‘not bad’, huh? Oh, you did say you might need more data.”

“Yes~” Lariette replied, teasing Ruediger but her gaze full of warmth. Placing her fingertips on the nape of his neck, she pressed his skin gently, “Even a language teacher like me needs more data, not just Science teachers.”

Soft laughter slipped past Ruediger’s lips, amused by Lariette’s words. As he sat on the bench, he swiftly scooped her up to his lap, eliciting chuckles from her.

Ruediger claimed Lariette’s lips again, less cautious this time. He explored the soft flesh inside her mouth with the tip of his tongue, eager to feel her sweetness more and more.

Lariette ran her fingers through Ruediger’s crimson locks, tugging slightly at the roots. Her rapidly pounding heartbeat rang loudly in her ears as she matched the rhythm of his kiss with her own.

When they finally parted again, Ruediger smiled as he stared at the breathless Lariette. He brushed his thumb on her lower lip, feeling how moist it was from their kisses.

“I think both data can make me a valedictorian,” Ruediger grinned, his voice dreamy.

Lariette chuckled, her heartbeat still fast. She moved her hands from Ruediger’s shoulders. Cupping his face in her palms, she grazed her thumbs on his flushed cheeks.

“Eddy, how many times have you dreamed of kissing me?”

Ruediger arched his brows. He took one of Lariette’s hands, bringing it to his lips, “More than you can imagine.”

Another dust of blush appeared on Lariette’s cheeks, but she didn’t tear her gaze away from Ruediger. She quietly watched him kissing her knuckles, the sensation was soft and warm.

Then, Ruediger pulled Lariette into a hug, his arms wrapping around her waist. She rested her head on his chest, listening to his sure yet rhythmic heartbeat.

The night on the rooftop garden remained quiet and undisturbed. The gentle breeze carried the scent of jasmine and lavender again. Being together under the ivy-covered arch felt as if they were in a haven built just for them.

Comfortable in Ruediger’s warm embrace, Lariette’s eyelids drooped slightly. Then, a yawn escaped her lips. His chuckles rang softly above her head.

“Lettie, we should return now,” Ruediger whispered, followed by a kiss on her hair, “It’s getting late. You’re tired.”

Lariette hummed, agreeing with Ruediger. She rubbed her eyes, trying to fight off her sleepiness, but failed. She smiled when he ran his thumb under her right eye.

“Let’s go home.”

“Okay~”

Ruediger gently lowered Lariette from his lap. Once they stood up from the bench, he supported her as they walked to the entrance, their footsteps quiet in the night.

The warm, gentle lights of the apartment welcomed Lariette and Ruediger back. They silently strode in the hallway, leading to where their bedrooms were. The hour had reached the eleventh.

“Eddy.”

Lariette tugged at Ruediger’s hand, her gaze finding his. He raised his brows, lips curved into a smile.

“Yes? Any request for breakfast?”

Lariette blinked, her cheeks pinkening. She moved her hand from his, gently grasping his arm. She hesitated for a second before words flowed from her mouth.

“I hope to get more used to you, so… can we sleep together tonight? I mean, literally.”

Lariette bit her lower lip, feeling quite ashamed for adding the last remark despite already sharing kisses with Ruediger. But it couldn’t be helped. She was not ready for the last step yet.

Perhaps… soon.

Ruediger almost laughed upon hearing Lariette’s emphasis. He bent down slightly, meeting her at eye level. The light in his eyes mellowed.

“I’m more than happy, Lettie, as long as you’re comfortable with it.”

Ruediger was surprised, yet delighted when Lariette allowed him to kiss her. Her actions comforted him that she didn’t push herself. In fact, she willingly crossed the line of intimacy.

Lariette nodded. Ruediger’s reassurance helped to ease her mind.

Straightening his back, Ruediger asked, his tone playful, “So, where should we sleep? Your room or mine?”

Lariette answered in a second, hopeful, “Yours. Can we?”

“Anything you wish for, my lady.”

A blushing Lariette told Ruediger that she would get ready for bed. Once she disappeared inside her bedroom, he quickly ran into his.

Now, did he leave any mess behind?
