Chapter 95: Do Whatever You Want With Her
“I’m sorry but I was really busy…..”
“Busy? Busy with what? Emma has been kidnapped, Harry and I’ve been trying to reach you so I can know if the boys followed her. If she’s fine and where she is,” Alex cut in before Harry could finish.
There was a pause on the other end before Harry’s voice came through, low and grim.
“I’ve been busy trying to connect with the boys, but I couldn’t. I had a feeling something is wrong when I called and no one picked my call. I tried tracking their location and I discovered they were in one place and wasn’t moving. After calling without getting an answer, I came to check in their location. I’m speaking to you now because I’m standing over the dead bodies of two of them. If they’re dead, it means Emma is in danger.”
Alex’s breath hitched, the blood draining from his face. “What?” he whispered, his grip on the phone tightening.
Dead? The people guarding Emma were dead? What did that mean? Does that mean Emma was dead too? That can’t be. Emma can’t be dead.
Who was it that had kidnapped Emma? If they could notice the bodyguard’s then that meant they were professionals. Who could’ve sent them and what did they want with Emma?
Alex mused, different thoughts and possibilities running through his mind.
“Two of my men are dead,” Harry repeated, his tone steady but heavy. “Whoever took Emma… they’re not amateurs.”
Alex’s mind reeled. The room around him seemed to blur, his focus narrowing to Harry’s words. He could barely process what he was hearing.
Claire gasped, covering her mouth, while Chris’s jaw tightened, his fists clenching at his sides, both of them fearing what that could mean for Emma.
Alex closed his eyes, forcing himself to stay composed. “Do you have any leads? Anything at all? Do you know if Emma is safe or something?”
“Not yet,” Harry said. “But I’m working on it. I’m sure she’s fine. If they wanted her dead, I’m sure they would have finished her off in front of the gate. No need to have taken her….”
“Then why did they kill the men?” Alex cut in, his panic evident in his voice.
“I’m sure it’s because they’re in their way. You don’t have to panic too much,” Harry said and Alex raised a hand to ruffle his hair in frustration.
“Maybe I should just go the police,” Alex said and Harry shook his head.
“Not yet. I think you should wait to hear from the kidnappers first. That’s the evidence you can use to convince them she was really kidnapped and if you’re going, you shouldn’t go yourself. You have to send someone incase they’re keeping an eye on you,” Harry adviced and Alex sighed.
He didn’t care if he was being followed. All he wanted was to make sure Emma was fine and alive.
“Are you sure I shouldn’t go to the police now? What if something happens to her…..”
“Just trust me, Alex. Send someone after they’ve made contact. They didn’t take her to kill her for some sort of revenge or anything. They want something from you and when they call, we’ll know their motive and how to tackle this. We’ll find her, Alex. I promise. I also need to get justice for my dead men,” Harry said and Alex sighed heavily.
Alex ended the call and stared blankly at the phone in his hand. His chest ached, the weight of the situation pressing down on him like never before.
“The men are dead?” Chris asked, his voice low but tense.
Alex nodded, his expression hardening. “Whoever did this… they’re not going to get away with it. I’ll make sure of it,” Alex said, thinking about how Emma was and if she was okay or if they were hurting her.
Chris stepped closer, his jaw set. “Whatever you need, I’m here.”
Claire, though shaken, nodded in agreement. “We’ll find her, Alex. We have to.”
Alex looked between the two of them, a flicker of gratitude in his otherwise tormented eyes. “Thank you,” he said quietly, his voice heavy with emotion.
But as he glanced back at Emma’s phone in his hand, one thought consumed him: Where are you, Emma? And are you still safe?
Away from there, Vanessa paced her lavish apartment, her heels clicking against the polished wooden floors.
Her nerves were frayed, a stark contrast to her usual poised demeanor. She glanced at the clock on the wall, the seconds ticking away like a countdown.

Why haven’t they called yet? She thought, her heart racing. The last time she spoke to them, they had said they had their eyes on Alex’s eyes and would take action the moment they see her.
Were they still there? They hadn’t gotten any chance yet? When would they get a chance? The earlier they finished this job, the earlier Jake would get to come out of prison so what was taking them long?
Her phone buzzed on the marble countertop, and she lunged for it. Relief flickered across her face when she saw the caller ID—it was the kidnappers she had hired to have Emma kidnapped.
Without wasting a second, she swiped to answer, pressing the phone tightly to her ear.
“Is it done?” she demanded, her voice sharp, though a faint tremor betrayed her anxiety.
“Yes, ma’am,” one of the men replied. “But we had a little problem. We were being followed.”
Vanessa’s breath caught in her throat. Her mind raced with possibilities. “Followed? By who? Were your hide out exposed?”
“No, ma’am. We discovered it before we took her,” one of the men said and Vanessa nodded.
“I hope you took proper care of whoever they were,” Vanessa asked wanting to be sure they wouldn’t be a problem for her later.
“Yes, ma’am. They’re not a problem anymore,” the man assured her, his tone casual, almost too casual for her liking.
“How so?” she asked, her eyes narrowing.
“We killed the men,” the second person said without batting an eyelash.
Killed? They had killed people? Vanessa thought in alarm and then took a deep breath.
She had been the one who had wanted professionals and she was glad they hadn’t messed up by letting those people tail them.
Though she didn’t like that they had killed people, she was glad they had done it to keep their act together.
Vanessa exhaled slowly, forcing herself to focus. “Good. But make sure nothing leads back to me. Understand?”
“Yes, ma’am. We’ve covered our tracks,” the man said confidently.
She ended the call and tossed the phone onto the couch, running a hand through her perfectly styled hair.
Her carefully laid plans were in motion, but the risk was higher than she had anticipated now that murder was involved.
She began pacing again, her thoughts spinning out of control.
What if someone figures it out? What if Alex suspects me? She shook her head, dismissing the thought. No, I’ve been careful. No one will trace this to me.
They’d think it was Jake or Margaret and for all she knows, Jake wouldn’t betray her and if Margaret were to be followed, no one would find anyone suspicious.
Thinking about it, a smirk curled up her cheeks. This was it. A perfect chance to take care of Emma once and for all.
She would make sure Emma never gets to see the light of day, ever again.
After a few moments, Vanessa picked up her phone again and dialed the kidnappers’ number again. The line rang twice before one of them picked up.
“Is she awake?” Vanessa asked, her tone clipped.
“Yes,” the man replied. “She’s awake. What should we do now?”
Vanessa tapped her nails against the phone, considering her next move. “Nothing yet. Wait until morning before you contact Alex. We’ll make the demands then.”
“Okay, ma’am,” one of them said and Vanessa smiled.
“Yeah. So, I called to see her miserable face. Show her to me on video call,” Vanessa ordered and the men ended the call to facetime her instead.
While of them were dialing Vanessa, the other quickly went ahead to blindfold Emma so that she wouldn’t see Vanessa’s face.
Vanessa has a satisfied smile on her face when she finally saw Emma’s frightful face and how red her cheek was from the number of slap she had gotten from the men.
“Good job, boys. I promise to reward you both handsomely after all this is over,” Vanessa said after she was done confirming Emma’s state.
There was a pause on the other end before the man spoke again, his voice tinged with a lewd curiosity. “Uh, about that… after we’re done, can we… you know… have some fun with her before we release her?”
Vanessa’s lips curled into a cold smile. “Release her? Who said I wanted to release her?” she asked with a cunning smile.
“You don’t?” one of the men asked and Vanessa shook her head.
“Do whatever you want with her, but only after we’ve succeeded. I’m not letting her go after this, so it doesn’t matter what happens to her.”
The man chuckled darkly. “Got it, ma’am. We’ll wait.”
Vanessa ended the call and sank onto the couch, a twisted sense of satisfaction settling over her. Emma should’ve stayed in her place, she thought bitterly. She had no business getting in my way.
Yet, beneath her smug exterior, a flicker of unease remained. She poured herself a glass of wine and took a long sip, trying to calm her nerves.
Tomorrow would be the beginning of the end for Emma, and Vanessa was determined to see it through. She would go to the warehouse and see to Emma’s end herself.
She thought but as the night wore on, doubt crept in.
She stared out of the window at the city lights, her reflection cold and calculating. If this goes wrong… if Alex or anyone suspects…
She shook the thought away. There was no room for failure. This was her chance to show Jake that she was the only woman fit for him.
Alex will never know. He’ll think it’s just Margaret going to such extent to have Jake released and by the time he realizes the truth, it’ll be too late.
Vanessa raised her glass, her eyes narrowing as she made a silent toast to her own cunning. Enjoy your last night, Emma. It’s all downhill from here.
