Chapter 487: Yan Zijin!
Looking at the new woman, Zhao Tian instantly recognized her, as she was the one who came to pick up Rui Lian when she was stuck on Earth.

Yun Xi, feeling the weight of her master’s gaze on her back, turned around slowly, her head bowed in deference. “Um… Master…” she murmured hesitantly.

Yan Zijin had an indifferent face and muttered “Do you know what you did just now?”

“You were playing with a powerful beast and brought it here.. where outer disciples gather. What would you do if someone got injured?”

Hearing her scolding, Yun Xi bowed her head and spoke in an apologetic tone “Forgive me, Master… I just got excited back there.”

Yan Zijin sighed, a mixture of disappointment and understanding in her eyes. “Xi’er, you are incredibly gifted. Born with the rare light elemental, your potential is immense. But don’t let that potential turn into arrogance.”

Yun Xi hurriedly nodded her head “Yes Master….”

With a nod, Yan Zijin turned her attention to Zhao Tian and Li Jia, who stood a few meters away amidst the trees.

The dappled sunlight flickered through the canopy, casting shifting shadows over them, making them appear half-hidden, half-revealed.

Pointing toward the pair, Yan Zijin spoke firmly. “Go and apologize to them. Both of them.”

Huh? Yun Xi turned her head and looked at the two outer disciples standing between trees, the leaves half hiding their bodies.

Her face grimaced in hate “I can apologize to the female disciple… but that man… no.”

Yan Zijin’s eyes narrowed, her tone becoming sharp “I don’t care about your irrational fear of men. You disturbed both of them, so you will apologize to both. Is that clear?”

Yun Xi visibly shuddered under her master’s stern gaze and she knew there was no escaping this. Her throat tightened, but she had no choice. “Y-Yes, Master…” she stammered, her voice quivering with obedience.

Taking a deep breath to steady herself, Yun Xi turned and, with a small leap, flew gracefully through the air toward Zhao Tian and Li Jia.

The moment she landed near them, she hesitated for a moment, steeling herself before speaking. “Forgive me… for almost… injuring you,” she muttered, her tone clipped and lacking warmth.

Zhao Tian stayed silent while Li Jia hurriedly waved her hands with a soft smile on her lips “Don’t worry about it.. we are completely alright.”

Yun Xi’s frustration only deepened at Zhao Tian’s lack of response, her hands clenching into fists at her sides.

“At least pretend to acknowledge me, you stone-faced brute…” she muttered under her breath, her voice barely audible.

Li Jia, noticing the tension, quickly stepped in.

She smiled warmly, trying to ease the awkward atmosphere. “Really, it’s fine. We weren’t harmed, You don’t need to worry.”

Yun Xi gave a curt nod but couldn’t help casting one last glance at Zhao Tian, her lips tightening. ‘He’s definitely doing this on purpose,’ she thought bitterly.

“Hmph!” Finally, with a huff, she turned on her heel, ready to fly back to her master.

But as she did, she caught sight of Yan Zijin through the tree branches. Her master’s eyes were trained on Zhao Tian, her expression one of curiosity, even intrigue.

Through the gaps in the leaves, Yan Zijin looked at the handsome young man and her eyebrow arched in surprise “He has good looks…”

‘Even Master is curious about him?’

Yun Xi let out a soft sigh and glanced back at Zhao Tian, she couldn’t deny that the young man was handsome.. tall, strong, with sharp, defined features… but she doesn’t like men in general.

“Xi’er.” Yan Zijin’s voice cut through her thoughts, “Don’t keep me waiting.”

Yun Xi flinched, her face tightening as she gave one final, reluctant glance at Zhao Tian before flying back to her master’s side.

As she approached, she noticed the faint smile tugging at Yan Zijin’s lips.

“That man…” Yan Zijin began, her voice low but tinged with interest. “There’s something different about him, isn’t there?”

Yun Xi frowned. “Master?”

Yan Zijin turned her gaze back toward Zhao Tian, who was now standing next to Li Jia, quietly discussing something with her. “He’s not like the others here. His aura… It’s calm, steady.”

Yun Xi bristled at her master’s praise. “Master, he’s just an outer disciple. There’s nothing special about him.”

Yan Zijin chuckled softly, her eyes gleaming. “Outer disciple or not, power has a way of revealing itself, no matter how hidden. And that young man… I suspect he has more potential than even he realizes.”

Yun Xi’s brow furrowed in disbelief. “But Master, I-”

“Enough,” Yan Zijin interrupted gently, “Do not let your bias cloud your judgment. Keep your eyes open, Xi’er. You may learn something from observing him.”

Yun Xi lowered her head, biting back her frustration. “Yes, Master,” she replied, though her heart was far from accepting. Zhao Tian… What could her master possibly see in him?

As they stood in the clearing, a faint breeze rustled the leaves. Zhao Tian glanced back at Yun Xi and Yan Zijin as they took their leave.

‘Seems like that woman didn’t recognize me… Well, my hair has grown and my face also looks a bit refined and she must not have expecting me to meet here…’

‘And she saw me for a brief minute before leaving the Earth that day…’

‘So it does make sense that she didn’t recognize me.’

Li Jia let out a deep sigh and spoke “Now, what to do? The beast came and wasted all of the Tuskrend boars we hunted.”

Walking out of the Sect hall, Li Jia glanced at Zhao Tian and asked “Tian… I am hungry, shall we eat together?”

Zhao Tian gave a faint nod and replied “Yeah.. let’s go.”

However, at this time, a melodious voice was heard from behind “Ah, Jia…”
