Zhao Tian softly sucked on her lips and she raised her hand, placing it on his shoulder, her fingers curling upon the fabric of his robes.

Pulling back from the kiss, Zhao Tian smiled softly tugging a strand of hair from her face.

A tear slipped down her cheek, and she quickly brushed it away, her lips trembling. “Thank you,” she whispered.

“I don’t know if I’ll ever be truly worthy of you, but… I want to be. I want to learn to love, to let go of my past, and to… to be someone you can be proud of.”

Zhao Tian sighed in his heart and he knew exactly what kind of words a vulnerable woman like her needs to hear now.

“Lingxi… Redemption doesn’t come from forgetting the past or pretending it never happened. It comes from who you choose to be now.”

He picked up a sugar-dusted bun and offered it to her, watching her reaction with keen interest.

She took a bite, savoring the taste that was surprisingly warm and comforting, melting on her tongue.

“It’s delicious,” she murmured, a bit of powdered sugar dusting her lips.

Zhao Tian chuckled softly and, without a word, reached out to gently wipe the sugar from her lips with his thumb.

Fei Lingxi’s cheeks flushed as their eyes met, and she saw the playful warmth in his gaze that made her heart race.

The robe slid a little further, exposing her bare shoulder to the cool night air and Zhao Tian sneakily let his hand down to her chest.

Her body stiffened for a moment and felt the warmth of his palm gently squeezing her breast, fondling it.

“Hmngh~” She pulled back the kiss as her hot breath hit his lips but he silenced her with another kiss.

After a few moments, They retracted the kiss and Zhang Tian gently brushed her cheek “It is getting late; return to the artifact.”

*swoosh* She disappeared from there and Zhao Tian stood up stretching his arms.
