I AM A MAGE BUT WITH MILF SYSTEM - Chapter 298
Chapter 298: Alice’s confusion
“I will see what I can do. He is still alive, but we need to stop whatever’s causing this pain.”
Alden gently laid Julian down on the bed. The sight of Julian—his eyes missing, his body trembling—was unbearable. He clenched his fists in both frustration and fear.
Regina sat beside Julian, ruffling his hair, trying to comfort him in whatever way she could. “Please,” she whispered. “Please, save him, Alice.”
Alice nodded as she took charge, her healer instincts kicking in. She knelt beside Julian, closing her eyes for a moment to focus on the flow of mana around him.
The room grew heavy with her energy, and she quickly began assessing the situation. Her fingers hovered over Julian’s body, tracing his wounds.
“This isn’t just physical trauma,” she murmured, her expression turning grave. “Something inside him is shattered-his soul, is broken. Whatever force caused this is not something that we can understand.”
Alden’s eyes widened in horror. “His soul? What are you talking about?”
Alice’s expression turned serious. “I don’t know yet, but we need to stabilize him before we can figure out what happened.”
Regina teared, “Please… help him. I can’t lose him,” she pleaded Alice.
Alice gave her a warm smile, before she turned her full attention on Julian. Her hands glowed with a soft green light as she began to channel her healing energy into Julian.
The room was filled with a tense silence as Alice tended to the wounds of Julian. But despite her best efforts, Julian’s body remained unresponsive.
Alice’s focus deepened as she channeled more of her energy. Her hands glowed brighter and she formed a vibrant green shield around Julian.
The shield emitted a calming, soothing energy and seemed like it was designed to heal and stabilize. Though it didn’t directly heal his wounds, it stopped the flow of blood and slightly eased the intense pain that had attacked his body.
Julian’s violent trembling slowed and his breathing became more calm and rhythmic.
Alden who was watching anxiously, looked at Alice with a mixture of hope and helplessness. “Is he going to be alright?”
Alice didn’t respond immediately. Her brow furrowed in concentration as she maintained the green shield.
“He’s still in danger,” she said softly, “This shield will keep him from deteriorating further, but we need to figure out what caused this and quickly find a way to help him. His body is holding on, but I can’t tell how long that will last.”
Regina and Alden both let out a sigh of relief, their bodies relaxing for a brief moment. The heavy, suffocating tension that had filled the air eased slightly.
Regina’s gaze shifted to Alice. “Please, Alice, do whatever you can. Tell us if we need to do anything,” she said, her voice filled with a new sense of hope.
Alden nodded and added, “Yes, please, Alice. Save him. Whatever it takes.”
Alice gave them a reassuring smile. “Don’t worry. Julian is like my own nephew. I will do everything I can to save him,” she said, her voice filled with resolve.
With that, she turned her focus back to Julian. Her eyes glowed blue as she focused her energy on Julian’s internal mana system.
Her concentration deepened, and what she saw before her made her freeze. Her heart skipped a beat as she scanned his body.
“How can this be?” she whispered to herself, shifting slightly in disbelief.
She had expected some signs of change in his mana flow, but what she was seeing was completely unnatural.
Naturally, in a mage’s body, when they absorb mana from the surroundings, it first nourishes their sea of consciousness. This sea of consciousness acts as a separate world where the mana is stored and refined.
As a mage’s strength increases, the quality of the mana improves, becoming denser and powerful. This enriched mana then begins to flow out from the sea of consciousness and spreads throughout the mage’s body.
The mana travels through various pathways, reaching the limbs, organs, and even the very cells, enhancing them and fortifying the mage’s physical strength.
This process was quite similar to the way water is absorbed by a tree. The roots of the tree absorb the water from the soil, which then travels up the stem, or the trunk, of the tree, before branching out into smaller veins that spread to the leaves.
Just as the water nourishes and strengthens the tree as it flows, the mana strengthens the mage’s body, allowing them to withstand greater forces and perform more powerful magic.

Over time, this mana circulation becomes more efficient which then constantly enhances the mage’s capabilities, both physically and mentally.
And this is how a mage continuously evolves and breaks through to higher realms.
However, Julian’s body was completely different. In fact, it was beyond anything Alice had ever seen.
He has no fucking sea of consciousness, she thought, her mind racing. What the fuck am I even seeing?
She could have accepted a damaged sea of consciousness, maybe even a fractured one, but its complete absence? It wasn’t just unnatural, rather it was impossible.
The core of a mage’s existence, the very foundation of their power, was gone? How could she bring herself to accept that?
Alice’s fingers trembled slightly as she searched deeper within Julian’s body. She focused harder, searching every fragment of his being, but no matter how hard she searched, there was no sign of its existence.
How the hell is this even possible? she thought, frustration building inside her.
Just the absence of the sea of consciousness wasn’t the problem. There was something even more unsettling about him.
His body was willingly absorbing the mana that she was sending him but she could not figure out where it was going to. She could clearly see it vanish into nothingness, as if it was being consumed by something invisible.
Is he hiding his sea of consciousness? Alice thought, but she quickly dismissed the thought.
No, she reasoned with herself. While a sea of consciousness may act like a separate world within a mage’s body, it isn’t entirely a separate reality. It can’t be hidden by anyone.
