Chapter 300: There is only one way
Regina’s eyes widened in confusion, her heart pounding as the weight of Alice’s words hung in the air. “And how… how can we do that?” she whispered, her voice trembling.
Alice hesitated, a deep blush creeping up her cheeks. She looked away before speaking, “By… by sucking him.”
Regina blinked, completely caught off guard by Alice’s words. “What?”
“I mean his mana, Regina,” Alice clarified quickly, her voice lowering to a whisper. “We need to draw the impure mana out directly—through intimate contact.”
She paused, her blush deepening, “The mana is like a parasite feeding off of Julian. I am sure it will lose its properties once it’s extracted from him. And with the help of my barrier, the mana can’t survive for long. This way we can hope to save Julian.”
Regina felt a heat rise in her cheeks, the sensation strangely misplaced in the tense setting.
Her gaze returned to Julian’s face, and her resolve hardened. “If this will save him…” she whispered. “Tell me what to do.”
“Let’s… let’s try something simpler first,” Alice murmured, her eyes flickering briefly to Julian’s face. “Maybe… Maybe a kiss will draw the mana out.”
Regina nodded and leaned down, capturing Julian’s lips in a kiss. She closed her eyes, focusing all her concentration on the task. The kiss deepened as she tried to infuse him with her mana, but the parasite-like mana inside him refused to move.
Alice’s heart fluttered as she watched. She wasn’t prepared for the intensity of the moment, nor the way a strange heat that seemed to be building inside her.
She tried to focus, to keep her attention on the barrier that she was controlling, but something about the sight before her—Regina kissing Julian so intently—made her stomach stir uncomfortably.
After some time, Regina pulled back, her brows furrowed in frustration.
Alice cleared her throat softly, trying to calm the rush of emotions within her.
“Not yet, Regina,” she murmured. “It’s not going to be that easy. The parasite is resisting. We need to approach this differently.”
Regina nodded, and she leaned down once more. This time, she became bolder, her tongue meeting his in a desperate, passionate exchange.
Alice watched as their kiss became more than just a means of extracting mana but something more heated… more forbidden.
She quickly shook her thoughts and focused herself to observe Julian’s body intently.
She could finally feel the shift. The stubborn mana began to stir slowly, as if it was trying its best to resist.
As the intimacy deepened, it shifted more and moved slightly inside Julian’s body.
“It’s working,” Alice whispered in excitement. “Keep going, Regina. You are breaking through.”
Regina continued her kiss, while Alice watched in a mixture of both anticipation and building heat between them.
Five minutes passed, and finally, the first sign of success came. A small wave of impure mana began to move within Julian’s body, slowly making its way towards his mouth.
Suddenly, Alice’s voice pierced through the silence, “Regina, pull back!”
Regina immediately complied, breaking the kiss and leaning back to a safe distance. As she did, the impure mana escaped from Julian’s lips with a violent twist and swirl, as if it was trying to resist the release.
Alice quickly acted, and she formed a barrier around the mana, ensuring it wouldn’t escape and cause further harm.
Her eyes narrowed. “It’s just a small amount,” she said, her voice filled with frustration. “But it’s progress.”
Regina took a deep breath, her hands still trembling. “Is that enough?” she asked.
Alice shook her head. “It’s just the start; we need to keep going.”
The mana that had been captured inside Alice’s barrier slammed violently against the walls, desperately trying to escape. However, no matter how much it struggled, the barrier held it strongly.
As time passed, it seemed to lose its energy, and its movement grew slower and weaker. Gradually, the mana sank to the bottom of the barrier, no longer active as before.

Alice studied the mana closely. “It’s losing its strength,” she murmured. She was relieved but still cautious. “This is our chance.”
“Continue,” she urged, her voice filled with determination. “We still have a lot of it.”
Regina nodded, her determination matching Alice’s as she leaned down to kiss Julian again.
They repeated the process over and over. Time stretched on, and though the mana gradually flowed out, it seemed to move at a slow pace, leaving both women frustrated and helpless.
After a whole hour, Alice’s frustration deepened as she checked the progress.
“It’s working, but the amount being sucked out is far too little. At this rate, we might need to keep doing this for an entire week before it’s completely removed.”
Regina, her breath shallow from the continuous effort, turned toward Julian’s unconscious form. The sight of him like this only deepened her resolve. She couldn’t bear to let him suffer any longer.
She turned to face Alice. “There’s only one thing we can do, Alice,” she said calmly.
Alice blinked, caught off guard. Her eyes widened in shock, and for a moment, she couldn’t breathe.
“You don’t mean… that… do you, Regina?” she asked, her voice wavering at the suggestion.
Regina’s expression did not falter. “Yes,” she said softly, “We have to. It’s the only way we can save him, and I will do whatever it takes.”
Alice’s mind raced as the weight of what Regina had said crashed over her. She opened her mouth to speak, but no words escaped her.
“But…” Alice began, her voice faltering as she looked from Regina to Julian. “Who’s going to do it? Should we… should we call someone?”
“No,” Regina replied confidently. “We don’t have that much time, Alice. We have to do this now.”
Alice’s breath hitched, her pulse quickening as she processed Regina’s words. “You… don’t mean…” Her voice lowering to a whisper. “You are…?”
Regina nodded, her determination flaring in her eyes. The room seemed to grow smaller as she met Alice’s gaze.
“Yes,” she replied. “I will do it. It’s the only way to save him.”
Alice swallowed hard. She didn’t want to believe what Regina was saying, but the finality in her voice left no room for doubt.
Her heart was pounding rapidly, and she could not control the heat that was pooling inside her.
“But… but you are his mother,” Alice said, shaking her head in an attempt to get rid of unwanted thoughts. “You can’t… this—this is too much, Regina. He’s your son.”
Regina didn’t flinch and met Alice’s gaze with unwavering intensity. “I know. But this is the only way to save him. I can’t let him suffer anymore.”
