Chapter 306: Breakfast after near death experience
The system burst into laughter, mocking him. “How can someone so sly like you fall for the trap? The Master of Dark element was nothing but an illusion, created by Preservation.”
Julian’s eyes widened in shock. “An illusion? You mean everything…That he told me about him, all his guilt, his role, it was all a lie?”
“Yes,” the system chuckled.
“He was never the man that he claimed to be. He was simply a puppet created by Preservation to manipulate and control humans. He planted the seed of guilt in the hearts of them. He twisted their sense of morality and turned them into servants who were then willing to do anything for him.”
“Preservation. It was all part of its grand plan, wasn’t it?” Julian said, clenching his fists.
“Exactly,” the system replied. “And that is where my data finishes. I now know nothing more than you.”
Julian collapsed onto the ground beneath him. “Wow, that was just too much,” he said, his head spinning from the flood of new information.
The system chuckled and added with a sly tone, “You wanted to know about this, remember?”
Julian let out a deep sigh. “Well, I didn’t expect it to be this deep,” he laughed bitterly. The magnitude of the truth was far beyond anything he had anticipated.
He lay there for a while, staring at the sky. The world around him felt both vast and infinitely small at the same time.
The information about beginnings, supreme beings, and everything left him satisfied but at the same time incredibly hopeless.

In the Ether Duchy,
Duke Ethwer sat calmly at his desk. His eyes were cold and judging as he studied the two men standing before him.
He leaned forward slightly. “Prepare yourselves. You will both take a thousand men and attack Easvil from Apollo’s route. This must be done swiftly and without failure,” he said.
The first man, with long brown hair and a scar on his cheek, bowed his head respectfully.
“Yes, your grace,” he responded, his tone devoid of any emotion.
His hand rested on his blade, and a calm yet twisted aura surrounded him.
The second man, who was bald, grinned maliciously. He twisted his neck and laughed.
“Sure, your grace. We will make sure to kill that motherfucker Julian,” he said.
The aura surrounding him was completely dark and suffocating, as if he was not trying to hide his violent nature.
Duke Ethwer smiled, “Failure is not an option. Make no mistakes and bring me results,” he commanded, his voice leaving no room for any arguments.
The two men nodded in unison before marching out.
As they left, the duke leaned back in his chair, the flickering candles reflecting his wide grin.
“The time has come.”

Julian stretched his arms and stood, making his way toward the breakfast hall. As he moved through the hallways, the servants paused in their tasks and turned to watch him with wide eyes.
“Look, it’s the young duke!” one of them whispered.
“Yes,” another murmured. “It seems he has finally recovered.”
Two young female maids who were standing nearby giggled. “Look at him… so handsome,” one said, her cheeks deep red.

“He is even more charming in person,” the other agreed.
Julian heard their murmurs and couldn’t help but smirk slightly. He returned their attention with a small nod and kept walking.
He finally stepped into the breakfast hall and saw the familiar faces of his family gathered around the table.
As soon as he entered, all eyes turned to him.
“Julian! You are awake!” Alden said in relief.
“Julian, what happened to you?” Eleanor asked with a hint of concern in her voice.
“Julian…” Eva joined in too, but she stopped quickly, unable to continue further.
“I knew you would not die,” Eliot teased with a sly smile.
The room erupted into questions, everyone eager to know what had happened.
Julian was momentarily overwhelmed by the barrage of questions. His head spun as he quickly tried to process everything.
“Calm down… everyone!” He shouted.
The room fell silent almost immediately, and everyone looked at him, hoping for answers.
He then sat down at the table. His body still felt weaker, but it was nothing that he could not handle.
He straightened himself, “I am fine,” he said. “I just had some trouble while cultivating,” he explained.
His gaze then shifted towards Alice and Regina. His expression softened slightly as he continued, “Aunty Alice and mother helped me recover.”
Everyone at the table looked at Alice and Regina with a warm smile
The two women shared a glance, both somewhat flustered by the attention.
Eleanor grinned playfully, “Wow, mother and aunty make a nice duo. The duchess and the healer,” she teased.
Eliot, unable to hold back a laugh, added, “Yeah, it could be the plot of some romance novel.”
Regina’s face immediately turned red at the remark, “Eliot, what are you saying?” she scolded but could not hide the blush that had formed on her cheeks.
Eliot grinned mischievously, “Why are you blushing, grandmother?” she teased again.
Regina remained silent while Alice leaned forward and winked at Eliot.
“Dear Eliot, not everything should be made public. Some things are meant to stay private,” she said.
Eliot had not expected Alice to flirt back, and she was caught off guard. She flinched, her face turning red in embarrassment.
The entire room burst into laughter.
Alice smirked, “Look at you, Eliot. You can’t even handle a flirt,” she said loudly.
Julian chuckled as he shook his head with a grin. “She is all bark, no bite,” he teased,
He glanced towards Alice. “But when she does bite, she sure knows how to leave a mark.”
Eliot was now visibly flustered and couldn’t think of a response. She turned her head away, hiding her flushed face.
“Talking about biting, you bite too damn good, Aunty Alice,” Julian said with mischief in his voice.
The hall fell into a brief silence as everyone glanced between Julian and Alice with raised eyebrows.
Ahem, ahem. Regina coughed, choking on the soup that she was drinking. She knew what Julian meant, and she glanced at Alice.
Alice was completely caught off guard by Julian’s teasing, and she shot him a glare.
“How… do you know?” She asked, unable to hide the embarrassment in her voice.
Julian simply laughed as his grin widened. “I have my ways,” he teased as he looked at the confused faces of everyone else at the table.
Eleanor turned to Julian with a puzzled look. “What are you two talking about?” she asked innocently.
Julian leaned back in his chair and waved a hand dismissively. “Ask aunty Alice,” he said.
Alice whose face was red as tomato immediately replied. “Ummmm… it’s… nothing… he was talking about me healing… him,” she stuttered trying to cover up the awkwardness as best as she could.
The room stayed silent for a moment as everyone tried to make sense of what they were talking about.
Julian’s grin only grew wider as he enjoyed the moment, while Alice shot him a look, wishing the conversation would end sooner.
Alden clapped his hands. “Okay, now everyone. Let’s not let the food go cold. Let’s eat, and we can talk about this later,” he said.
With that, everyone at the table began to pick up their fork and start eating.
As the breakfast continued, Julian’s eyes locked onto Eva. A sly grin played at his lips.
It’s time for me to conquer you, Eva, he thought to himself.
Eva who was sitting few seats away, noticed Julian’s gaze and raised an eyebrow.
She felt an unfamiliar flutter in her chest as she met his eyes. For a brief moment, their gazes locked, and Julian could feel the energy between them shift.
Julian’s gaze was fixed entirely on Eva. His eyes slowly lowered, taking in the curve of her neck, down to the alluring display of her cleavage.
Every small movement she made was drawing him closer.
Eva tensed as she immediately felt the weight of his stare. Her breathing grew ragged and she tried hard to maintain her composure.
Julian’s eyes were practically devouring her and it seemed that he had no intention of looking away. She could feel the heat in her body rising, slowly but surely.
She glanced up quickly and met his gaze. She saw the smirk tugging at his lips and his eyes dropped lower again. He was making no effort to hide it, clearly enjoying her reaction.
“Eva,” Julian whispered, the voice sending shivers through her. “You look so… calm. But I wonder what would happen if I were to get closer.”
She shifted on her seat, his words spiking the heat that was building within her.
She glanced around nervously, but it seemed as if others could not hear anything that Julian was saying.
Is he using some kind of spell, she thought.
The atmosphere was thick with strange ~ sexual tension, and it almost suffocated her.
