Chapter 112: An Encounter With Pretty Boy
Hikari noted that the cat girl had completely seemed to forget about her predicament by the next morning. It was nothing at all what Hikari remembered about her own transfer. Syndra was easily able to fall asleep after Hikari made sure she remained calm.

She left the other girls in her domain for now. Hikari felt that helping Syndra acclimate to everything would be better. However, what she didn’t expect was her inventory to be gorged of gold coins.

Both Syndra and Kurayami stared at a meat skewer stand with mouths agape and drooling. The elf couldn’t help but laugh at how much they resembled each other in that moment. Only, one had a thick swaying dragon tail, and the other had a cat tail that waved slowly.

Hikari bought both of them several skewers as they sat down in the morning sunlight.

“Master, this girl might not be so bad already. I can tell she understand the value of food and especially meat.”

Syndra chomped down on her meat skewer and her face lit up. “This is so much better than it tasted in the VR machine! It’s like my cat tongue was made for eating meat.”

Several people around them stared at the cat girl oddly. Of course, it didn’t surprise Hikari. Imagine someone met a full grown cat woman, talking as if she’d only learned what her tongue is like.

Hikari sighed as she watched them chomp down on the food. “You both will be the death of my wallet.”

The cat girl shook her head. “I doubt it. Knowing how many dungeons you cleared, I bet you have infinite gold.”

“Master would never run out of money. Even if she bought the whole world, Master would have money left over.”

“Just how much money do you think I have!?”

While they were talking a blonde-haired knight in shining golden armor walked over to them. He smiled at the girls, his teeth seeming to glimmer with how bright the smile was. He leaned against a nearby post and looked directly at Hikari.

“Please forgive me,” the man said, “but I couldn’t help but notice how beautiful you were from afar. I’m Regulus. And to whom do I owe the pleasure of speaking.”

Hikari felt her eye twitch ever so slightly at the way the dashing man flicked his hair when he finished speaking. It was as if he thought the world of himself, and that fact was plainly on display.

“I’m sorry,” Hikari said, “but I’m not interested.”

Regulus eyes widened like he didn’t expect such an answer. “Wait, you’re the most gorgeous elf I’ve seen in all the lands. Let me treat you to dinner sometime.”

Hikari shook her head and placed her hand between them. “No, as you can see I’m taken.” She looked at the dragon girl who was surprisingly calm in this situation and gestured to Kurayami. “This is my girlfriend, and we’re gay together.”

Kurayami’s cheeks reacted to that statement. They heated up red, and she nodded her agreement quickly. “That’s right! Master is my girlfriend!”

Regulus looked even more shocked at their proclamation. “Girlfriends? Those types of couples actually exist?” He looked even more hopeful towards Hikari. “I could give you pleasure the likes you’ve never seen before, and your girlfriend can join in, too.”

Hikari maintained her calm and sighed. “I said I’m not interested. Besides, if I want a partner, they have to be at least as strong as her.” The elf pointed at Syndra and smiled, getting a sudden idea in her head. “Yes, if you could beat her in a fight, I will consider a date.”

“Master?”

“Don’t worry, Kurayami. Syndra won’t lose.”

“I know that, Master. I’m just wondering why you would make such a promise with that man. I’ve met ants that were stronger than him.”

Regulus overhearing the dragon clenched his fist tight. “Is that so?” All of his false persona vanished, and what replaced it was an angry little man. He pointed at Syndra. “Fine, if that’s how you want to play it. There’s an arena here in this town. Meet me there in 20 minutes, and we will seal the deal.” He looked pointedly towards Hikari. “You better not back out on your end.”

Hikari shrugged. “I would never break such a promise. To do so would be to lower myself to someone of your status.”

Regulus grunted before storming off towards a tree that was carved out in the shape of a coliseum.

Syndra looked helplessly at Hikari. “Did you really just decide everything without me?”

“I’m sorry. I will give you plenty of skewers afterwards once you win.”

The cat girl’s face went bright read. “You can’t buy me with skewers!”

“Really? What about if I’m the one personally cooking them?”

Syndra’s mouth salivated. Even though she’d not had Hikari’s cooking in reality. The game emulated the senses, and she could remember that the elf was a master at cooking even in the early stages of [Gensuba].

“O-okay, fine. Besides, it’s not really just your promise of cooking, but that guy pissed me off, too. I can’t stand people like that!”

“That’s the spirit,” Hikari said as she patted the girl’s head. The elf barely resisted the urge to move her fingers to those beautiful ears.

Kurayami seemed to notice and slapped Hikari’s hand away from the purring cat girl. “Master, you should know that a their ears are sensitive. Even if she is going to let you touch them anyway, it’s better not to do that while everyone is watching.”

“Wh-what are you talking about!? I wasn’t going to touch them!”

“You don’t need to lie to me, Master. Even I have the urge to touch those ears.”

The cat girl in question tilted her head in confusion. She reached her head up and touched her ears on her own. It was clear that the sensation ignited something within her. Hikari and Kurayami could see her face heat up and her body twitch slightly.

Hikari quickly grabbed Syndra’s hands. “Don’t do that in public. I admit it! I was wrong!” She leaned over in front of the cat girl and whispered. “How does it feel?”

“It’s like heaven,” the girl whispered back. “What about your ears? I can’t lie. I also wanted to try touching them.”

Hikari could only look shyly at her dragon, remembering what Kurayami would do to her ears in bed. The elf nodded. “Definitely don’t do that in public. It’s like touching your erogenous zone in front of everyone.”

The cat’s face heated up as she stared at the elf. Her voice lowered into a meek whisper. “Are you saying it’s like masturbating in public?”

Hikari could only look away, not daring to answer the girl’s question directly. Instead, she pointed her staff towards the tree arena. “Right now, we have more important matters to focus on than biology.”

“Right,” the cat said, slamming one of her fists against her open palm. “I’m going to beat that guy up.”

“You look so fired up now. I wonder why that is?”

“Master, you’re always so dense in these matters. How many times must these things be pointed out to you?”

“You can’t be serious, Kurayami. I just barely met this girl, unless you count that one time we went in a dungeon party.”

Kurayami shook her head helplessly. “I bet this girl was crushing on you ever since then. You have that effect on people. Otherwise, why would she jump up so excited and wag her tail to you on the first chance she got.”

“Hey!” Syndra protested. “I can hear you both, and I’m not a dog! I didn’t wag my tail. If I recall correctly, there was a bully who grabbed it.”

“So you don’t have any feelings towards Master?”

Syndra’s mouth hung open, but she chose not to answer, looking towards the ground instead.

The dragon clicked her tongue in annoyance. “This is what I’m talking about, Master! How many more are you going to add?”

“I didn’t even say I was adding anyone, so why did you assume that? L-like I said before, we have more important matters to focus on.”

Hikari turned away from her dragon and the cat, completely refusing to speak on the matter further and walked towards the arena. Instead, the elf let her thoughts drift towards the other world. By now, the conflict with the Empire should be ending if she took the time differential into consideration. She vowed to herself that she would check on the situation when she got back to her domain to be sure.

Once they stepped into the arena, an audience was already ready for them. It seemed that many people had overheard their argument, and seats were beginning to fill one by one. People started placing bets on who would win between Syndra and Regulus.

Hikari leapt into the crowd where the betting was taking place. “Can I place a bet here?”

“Sure, lass, the more the merrier. Who you goin’ for?”

“I will place 100 gold coins on the cat girl.”

The man nodded. “It’s your wallet, not mine.”

Down in the arena, the taunting from Regulus had already started.

“Don’t think that a cat will be able to battle with a real man. I’ve brought one of the officiators here, so any tricks will be your loss, kitten.”

Syndra shrugged at his provocation and stretched her arms. “I’ve been needing to test what this body can do now. Try not to cry too hard when you get your ass kicked, pretty boy.”
