Chapter 21: 100 Year Punishment
Hikari collected way more [Wimblo Tree Honey] than was required when she reached floor 27. In terms of all of the monsters in the dungeon, these were the most docile. They wouldn’t attack unless you approached, but Hikari had a request to complete, so she ended up burning them to ashes with the simple spell [Candle Light].
Light magic had several spells similar to this. Many considered it the antithesis of dark magic, but Hikari didn’t feel the same way. Darkness is simply the absence of light, but a burning flame casts a shadow. It could be said that light and darkness paired together made sense.
For that, she needed only to look at her dragon. She was curious about several tings related to her. Does she have her own goals? Moreover, does Senjo have her own goals? The elf felt that if all of her followers were robotic—simply abiding the will of Hikari—she’d end up feeling a bit lonely. As for the elf, she did have some idea.
Learning their place in this world was a steady process, but she was beginning to see that the average level was much lower here than in the game. Players in the game could reach a thousand, granted it wasn’t many, but most players had become at least level 500. If they were compared, wouldn’t that game be like a realm of gods over here?
The two of them reached the floor 30 boss while the elf’s mind began to wander. She read the boss’s status.

Hikari found it interesting that this guy was much stronger than the skeleton king outside. The undead monster had 5 levels on the golem, yet its stats ended up being much lower. Is this the effect of the dungeon?
“Master, should I punch this guy, too?”
The elf looked bewildered at her dragon. “You do know that this guy takes a lot less damage from physical attacks, right?”
Kurayami shrugged and cracked her neck, rolling her arm at the same time. “If it’s a little harder than others, I simply need to put more force into the attack.”
Such a simple mind! Where is all of that cunning from earlier? Hikari looked exasperated. “Do what you will.”
The golem, towering higher than many buildings, roared. It grabbed a piece of rubble from the side of the open trench and lobbed it at the duo.
Kurayami flapped her wings, taking off like a bolt of lightning. Her head slammed into the giant boulder, splitting it in half, and sending pieces of rock scattering in the gorge. In the next instant, her fist collided with the chest of the towering behemoth.
Hikari’s eyes widened as she watched the dragon travel straight through fist first. A loud pop signaled the destruction of the golem’s core, and it shattered into thousands of small pieces.
The dragon’s eyes sparkled at Hikari as if expecting praise.
Hikari smiled helplessly and pat the head of her dragon. At the same time, her other hand scratched beneath the dragon’s chin, and Kurayami produced a content expression.
The dragon’s tail swayed behind her, and her eyes were closed in bliss. “Master, please spoil me all of the time.”
Hikari held back a laugh from her little pet. “I can’t do this all of the time, but I can’t let you think I don’t adore you.”
Kurayami’s eyes widened in that instant, and her cheeks were tinted a light red. “Master, can you say that again…The last part.”

“Like I said, I adore you. I don’t know how I’d feel if you weren’t here. Maybe I’d have gotten lost.”
The dragon smiled brightly, and she couldn’t contain herself. She lowered her head, sticking her tongue out, and before Hikari could react the dragon licked her ear.
A tingle traveled down the elf’s spine, and her knees felt weak for a moment. She sighed before berating her pet. “What are you doing!? You can’t just suddenly lick someone’s ear!”
Kurayami gave her master another devilish smile. “I am sorry, Master. I felt flustered and had no idea what to do with this energy. Can you say it one more time?”
The elf reached for her staff and bonked the dragon on the head with no small amount of strength. “Don’t do that again, especially not in some random dungeon! Do you have any idea what that felt like?”
Kurayami licked her lips towards the elf. “It tasted great, like a perfect little fruit dangling from a tree. If the master wants she can also lick my ear.”
Hikari’s face heated with her beating heart, provoking her anger. “Nobody is licking anyone’s ear! Do you want another bonk on the head?”
Kurayami shook her head rapidly. “No, Master, that actually hurt quite a bit. It would feel much better if you gave it a kiss.”
The elf ground her teeth together and pouted, showing the most emotion she’d displayed since arriving. She turned her head towards where the boss fell away from the little dragon. “Hmph, you aren’t getting a kiss for another 100 years!”
“No way, Master!” The dragon chased after the elf and clung to her small arm. “Make it at least 100 days!”
The elf could only sigh at her dragon’s antics. “I’ll think about it.” After the dragon let go of her master, Hikari looked where the boss died. “It seems this one doesn’t have a treasure chest.”
“Master, I believe the drop was supposed to be that golem’s core.”
“Hmm, I see.” She turned and lightly smiled at her dragon, but her eyes betrayed something more sinister.
“Master?” Kurayami asked nervously. “You’re scaring me.”
“Kurayami, please come here for a second.”
“Y-yes, Master.” The dragon walked forward tentatively.
Hikari reached for her staff, but after a moment, she shook her head. “Never mind, the punishment is back to 100 years.”
