I Became My Healer Elf Character - Chapter 67
Chapter 67: Talk
A number was handed to Hikari and Ayase as the two sat next to each other. Ayase stared nervously at the elf with a tomato face. Hikari knew that the girl had some feelings, but she didn’t expect that she would hold on for so long. Hikari tuned out the voice of the person on stage, choosing to speak personally with Ayase.
“I am the same person you remember, but at the same time, I am not.” Hikari took a glass of tea offered to her before continuing. “A lot of things happened.”
Ayase nodded and smiled. “I can imagine. You even became an elf of all things.”
Hikari chuckled at the girl. “And you became a witch.” Hikari remembered at that moment about her domain. She held up her palm towards Ayase. “Hold on. I will give us some room to communicate.”
The elf tapped her staff on the ground, and the bells chimed. The motion of the world slowed down gradually until it halted altogether. Afterwards, a white abyss covered it in its entirety.
Hikari realized this was the first time she actually summoned the abyss by herself, yet doing so came as easy as breathing. No, it could be said that breathing and summoning this abyss were one and the same.
Ayase and Hikari floated in the nothingness, yet their feet were grounded. Attempting to make sense of this space would likely take longer than it was worth, so Hikari shrugged and marveled at the vastness of it.
The witch however was far more surprised. She blinked several times and looked around with wide eyes.
“Incredible…”
“In here time moves much slower, so we can speak as much as we want.” Hikari remembered that it was the exact opposite before. However, this time she was certain that what she said was true. The ability to control time…Anyone would want such a power.
And that power abided by her command by simply willing it to happen. That was when Hikari realized she hadn’t even said a spell name. She channeled mana down her staff, wishing for her domain to descend, and she willed time to slow down relative to the world inside of the auction house.
In this white world it was just the two of them, and Ayase looked like she had much to say.
“I can’t believe you are even capable of something like this. Have you transcended mortality altogether and become someone divine. I mean, you already…But…”
“Calm down,” Hikari said, willing a table and two chairs into existence from her inventor. The elf sat down and gestured to the chair across from her. “We have a lot to catch up on.”
The witch took the offered seat and nodded. “A part of me never thought I’d see you again. And now…”
“Now, I am an elf. Some people even call me a goddess, and I look different from how I used to. But let me tell you, this is not something I set in motion. Or at least, I have no memory of setting it in motion.”
“So…You are a goddess now? But in my eyes you were always like a goddess.”
“Flattery?”
Ayase shook her head. “I am being serious, and this is not due to my feelings.”
Hikari smiled wryly and nodded. “I am also aware of those, but before we can go any further, I must tell you that I am in a kind of relationship with one…at least two people.”
Ayase’s eyes widened. “So there are two of them? You already started your very own harem?”
Hikari waved her hands. “It’s not like that! Did you ever play the game [Gensuba] before you died?”
Ayase nodded. “I played it, but it’s not like I could get much time in. I had to take over my family’s shop after that day…I hope my mom didn’t take my death too harshly…”
“Those left behind surely suffered…But I can’t be sure of the time difference here. And as I was saying, I came from [Gensuba]. I actually have no recollection of ever dying at all.”
“Huh?”
“It’s one of the biggest mysteries of my transportation. Every thing I have seen leads me to believe that I was never truly a normal person to begin with. Yet, I remember being a regular person on Earth. Was I a regular person to you?”
Ayase shook her head and smiled. “You’ve never been a regular person to me. From the moment I transferred to that school I noticed it. Many people didn’t even interact with you. Your aura was like no one else.”
“Yea, but I have memories of growing up from a little girl on Earth. I read books and played games just as any other person. However, there is also evidence to suggest I created an entire world.”
“You mean…”
“Yes, the world outside. The world containing that auction house, there is evidence to say I’m its creator. By the way, I can also travel to Gensuba at any time.”

“Then…Can you also travel to Earth?”
Hikari shrugged. “I have no idea since I haven’t really tried it yet, but there is also an inner voice screaming at me that I really could if I so desired. However, I wouldn’t even know where to start, and world hopping randomly can’t be safe.”
“I see…”
“And what about you? How has life treated you after being reincarnated?”
Ayase sighed. “It wasn’t at all like those novels on Earth. I expected life to be simple. Maybe I would be the main character and conquer the entire world? However, fate was a bit crueler than that.”
The witch frowned in remembrance. “I was born in the midst of a catastrophe. I was born in a southern nation that no longer exists. It was a nation ruled by fear tactics, and they abhorred mages. All usage of magic was forbidden. I guess, it was lucky that I wasn’t born to a proper family. I had no one to lose since I was all by myself.”
“But, it wasn’t all bad. Later in my life, I was saved by a snake spirit from an entirely different continent when several portals opened up over our country. The entire place was laid to ruin by gods and superior beings, yet I was spared by a simple snake.”
Hikari grinned. “It must have been your love of snakes that made you so lucky.”
“You still remember that?”
“Of course, you were one of the only people who ever tried to talk to me. In a sense, you were the very first partner on my very first date.”
Ayase’s cheeks reddened. “I am sorry for disappearing after that.”
“Do not be sorry. You went through a lot.”
The witch nodded as tears filled her eyes. “I wanted to give my mother flowers on the final day. I wanted to see you again…”
Hikari walked around the table and hugged Ayase as she cried. “You can still give your mother flowers.”
Ayase looked up with cloudy eyes. “I can?”
Hikari nodded and wiped away her tears. “I will make sure of it.”
The witch gripped onto Hikari tightly. “Is that a promise?”
“It’s a promise. Only this time you can give her even better flowers. Do you think your mother has ever had magical flowers?”
Ayase giggled. “I don’t think so. She’d probably be the first mother to ever receive such things…At least on Earth.”
“I wouldn’t be so sure of that. Earth is a vast place, and there are many places we didn’t go. I am not sure about you, but I spent my entire life there in Japan.”
As the two released each other, Ayase suddenly realized something. “You said you have two girlfriends, right?”
“I don’t remember saying their gender…But that’s right.”
“Then…Can I be your third?”
“Wait…We just reunited…”
“You don’t have to give me an answer right now, but there is something else I would like.”
“What is that?”
Ayase playfully put a finger on her own lips and winked. “I would like a kiss to seal the promise we made before. If you kiss me…Then I think I will believe you…”
Hikari was once again shocked. It seemed all of the girls that surrounded her were the most forward they could possibly be. How come Hikari lacked this skill? She was a divine healer who could create a white realm, but when it came to these matters she suddenly became shy. No, I will not allow every single scenario like this to end up as my loss!
The elf grabbed Ayase by the shoulders and stood on the tips of her toes, pulling the witch down so their lips met. Ayase could not hide the shock from displaying in her eyes, much to the delight of Hikari who was reveling in her ‘victory.’
Little did the silly elf know that she was always playing right into their hands. Each time she indulged one girl or the next, the winner was never truly Hikari.
