Chapter 397: Chapter397-Overwhelmed
John felt an unusual gaze upon him and turned to find that it was the High Priest, who was already looking at him.
The expression on the High Priest’s face had changed significantly, seeming contemplative before a faint smile appeared.
“With the help of Divine Envoy, we will surely defeat the other two tribes. We will definitely bring glory to our tribe!” said the High Priest.
Following his words, the others around raised their hands and shouted excitedly.
“Divine Envoy! Divine Envoy!”
The atmosphere around became electric, everyone spontaneously chanting John’s name.
John, however, distinctly felt that all this excitement was directed at him.
Everyone was thrilled and had high expectations that he would lead them to victory.
But John didn’t yet understand the other two tribes and if he couldn’t actually secure a victory, the current excitement could turn into deep disappointment later.
He never underestimated anyone; the people’s access to the power of these runes was likely a protective energy granted by the natural order of this world.
After all, this world was inhabited by magical beasts and possessed other unknown forces.
In such a setting, humans were actually the most vulnerable beings.
Thus, these energies from the runes could be seen as a balance provided by the natural order to compensate for their vulnerabilities.
Although it was unclear why these people lacked mana, the runes indeed seemed perfectly suited to compensate for this deficiency.
John smiled faintly, casting another Great Illumination Spell—a large orb of light floated above the crowd.
As everyone watched expectantly, John slowly burst the orb.
In an instant, a gentle cascade of light particles dispersed into the bodies of the onlookers.
They distinctly felt an unfamiliar power surge within them, enhancing their physical strength and speeding up their recovery.
Most notably, some Rune Warriors noticed their rune-marked skin glowing brighter in that moment.
Fire, with a radiant smile, clenched his fists, feeling a surge of strength within him.
He looked at those around him and, tightening his fist, forcefully smashed it into a millstone-sized rock!
Boom!
The rock shattered instantly, fragments flying everywhere, leaving everyone dumbstruck.
Everyone knew Rune Warriors were stronger than ordinary people, but the sight of this power still made them gasp in awe.
Such strength… even with their runes enhanced, they had never experienced such formidable power.
It was, perhaps, beyond their comprehension.
John offered a faint smile and again cast a Great Illumination Spell; a large orb of light floated above everyone’s heads.
As everyone watched in anticipation, John slowly burst the orb.
Instantly, a shower of gentle light particles dispersed into the bodies of the onlookers.
The crowd distinctly felt a new strength within them, enhancing their physical endurance and accelerating their recovery of various capacities.

Most notably, some Rune Warriors noticed that the runes on their skin seemed to brighten in that instant.
Fire, with a radiant smile and clenched fists, felt a surge of power coursing through his body.
He looked at the person next to him, then, with a tight fist, powerfully smashed it into a nearby rock the size of a grinding stone!
Boom!
The rock shattered instantly, its fragments flying everywhere, leaving everyone dumbstruck.
Everyone knew that Rune Warriors were far stronger than ordinary people, but the manifestation of such power still made them involuntarily gasp.
Such strength… even with their runes enhanced, they had never known such formidable power.
It was, perhaps, beyond their comprehension.
“Divine Envoy, this room has been prepared for you; I hope you can rest well,” the chieftain said as he led John into a room.
John carefully observed that the room seemed to have been quickly arranged yet was still quite luxurious, at least relative to the other rooms.
It was a hastily constructed treehouse, built with the finest wood that bore no marks of carving.
He had seen clearly before that it was all cut by warriors bearing runes, and the decorations were little flowers and herbs personally gathered by the women.
John glanced at the green fruits arranged on the table, already forming a good understanding in his mind.
“Alright, I understand. You all go rest well,” John said while watching the native boy nod slightly at him.
After the chieftain left, the boy suddenly sat down on the floor and wiped his face.
“My goodness, why is it that being in this secret realm doesn’t seem to affect you at all, while I am so suppressed?” the boy spoke with a hint of pain in his expression.
John felt puzzled because, based on appearances alone, he really couldn’t tell who this person was.
The body seemed native to this place, only somehow it seemed to have a different soul inside.
“I’m Vincent!”
Vincent said fiercely, causing John to widen his eyes in disbelief.
“You are… Vincent?!!”
John’s voice couldn’t help but change.
If he wasn’t always so composed, he might have already lost it by now.
“Yes, I am Vincent.”
Vincent felt extremely helpless inside because he realized that upon arriving here, his body was no longer his own but that of a native child from this place.
What was worse, he had no idea how this had happened, and his strength had been suppressed to the silver-tier.
Here, any Rune Warrior with a bit more runes could easily overpower him.
He really did look like an eleven or twelve-year-old child, which was rather ridiculous.
“If your consciousness and soul have traveled here, where is your physical body now?” John suddenly thought of a very important question.
If their bodies hadn’t come through, they must still be in that little boat.
But now that they had entered, his own physical body was here as well.
That meant there was definitely no one left to control those airships outside.
If those little boats encountered any asteroids or black holes, their physical bodies would be completely annihilated.
By then, even if they managed to return, there would be no way to go back.
After all, if their bodies were destroyed, the next step would only be to become lost souls.
“So we need to quickly find the flaw in this secret realm and break out of it. We can’t afford to waste any more time.”
Vincent was well aware of the gravity of the situation.
However, the main issue was that since arriving here, he hadn’t discovered any hint of a task that could potentially break through the secret realm.
