Chapter 409: Chapter409-Sneak Attack! The Panther Tribe!
When the Eagle Tribe chief heard John’s instructions, he felt uneasy but ultimately suppressed his discomfort and quickly set about preparing everything necessary.
“Here are some specific details about the tribe. You can take a look, and if there are any issues, we can address them later.”
John looked at the piece of wood placed in front of him, his expression somewhat peculiar.
He could sense that it carried some kind of energy—likely the inscriptions they spoke of.
However, he also realized that something felt off.
He could sense the energy, but he had no idea how to interpret it.
Essentially, this document was placed before him, and he didn’t know how to read it.
But the two chiefs beside him kept watching intently—one with a challenging glint in his eyes, the other with a probing curiosity.
They both wanted to see what John would do next.
After all, if someone who claimed to be a divine envoy couldn’t handle even this, it would make him look like a fool.
John kept his composure and glanced subtly at Victor, who was nearby.
Since he wasn’t from this continent, he could only grasp a general understanding of these inscriptions, but he couldn’t truly decipher them.
However, someone native to this land, like a member of the tribe, would likely understand them much better.
Victor immediately recognized some of the details on the document, and even though he hadn’t learned the local script, he could understand the gist.
He subtly made a hand gesture to John and lightly tapped his fingers on the table.
It appeared as if he was absentmindedly touching the table, but in reality, he was transmitting vital information.
John instantly understood, and a slight smile played on his lips.
“Gather all your warriors who are of Giant Stone level and above. I’ll need them soon.”
John now had a general idea that their system of inscribed warriors had different levels of classification.
The ranking was a bit complex, but in essence, it was equivalent to gold-tier awakeners in his world.
The Eagle Tribe chief’s eyes sharpened as he glared at John, letting out a cold snort.
“You want to send all our best warriors out while you sit back and watch us go to our deaths?”
This was his first thought, and it seemed the most logical conclusion to him.
Why else would the Zebra Tribe not be sent out? Why only his people?
John gave him a measured look.
“Do you really think you have the luxury of refusing? I’m doing this to ensure your people survive.”
John didn’t fully know what to expect from the Panther Tribe, but he understood that if they held a third of the power in the land, they must have strengths of their own.
By strategically using warriors from both the Eagle and Zebra Tribes, he was confident they could unite against their common foe.
No matter how formidable the Panther Tribe might be, they wouldn’t stand a chance against the combined forces of the two tribes.
“I’ve already told you, I won’t let your people be cannon fodder. If you still don’t trust me, there’s nothing more I can do,” John said, his tone growing colder.

He could easily guess that the Eagle Tribe chief feared his warriors would be used as mere sacrifices.
But in the face of war, there’s no room for mercy.
War is inherently brutal, especially in a place like this.
Meanwhile, the Zebra Tribe chief allowed a slight smile to curl at the corner of his mouth.
He could clearly see that John was siding with them.
Regardless of John’s true motives, they would undoubtedly benefit.
If they could eliminate the Panther Tribe, it would pave the way for them to share dominance over the land.
The Eagle Tribe, having already suffered a defeat, would be left with only one-third of the spoils.
From any perspective, they posed no real competition.
Even if they couldn’t wipe out the Eagle Tribe immediately, they would have more opportunities to consolidate power over time.
Eventually, they would become the rulers of this land.
Moreover, they might even learn the secrets of controlling beasts from the Panther Tribe, a knowledge they would certainly keep from the Eagle Tribe.
The two chiefs exchanged a knowing glance, and the Zebra Tribe chief found himself gaining a newfound respect for John.
Without John’s aid and the help of his beasts, they would never have conquered the Eagle Tribe so easily.
“Divine Envoy, what should we do next? Should we also gather our warriors?” asked the Zebra Tribe chief.
John nodded.
“We must be fully prepared. The Panther Tribe has the ability to control beasts, which naturally gives them an advantage over us.”
Although controlling beasts might weaken the Panther Tribe’s inscription abilities in some ways, it still made them formidable opponents.
John and the Zebra Tribe chief quickly devised a battle plan together.
When the Zebra Tribe chief learned that he would be leading a group to launch a surprise attack from behind, his face tightened with concern.
“The Panther Tribe is behind the cliffs. If we have to climb over them, it will be extremely dangerous. I might be able to do it, but I can’t say the same for the others.”
Crossing the cliffs quickly without alerting the Panther Tribe’s beasts was nearly impossible.
The Panther Tribe’s greatest strength lay in their many vigilant beasts, which served as both their eyes and their combat force.
If anyone entered the beasts’ range, it would immediately raise an alarm.
John smiled.
“Don’t worry, I’ll have someone accompany you. You’ll be safe, and those beasts will be thoroughly overwhelmed.”
When the members of the Zebra Tribe heard John’s words, their eyes lit up with excitement, but they quickly hesitated, casting a wary glance at the Eagle Tribe members.
After all, with them present, if anything were leaked, it could mean doom for everyone.
The Eagle Tribe chief noticed the exchange and let out a cold laugh.
“Since we’ve decided to cooperate, I won’t stoop to being a backstabbing informant. My warriors are valuable to me, and I won’t lead them into a hopeless situation.”
As he spoke, the Eagle Tribe chief sneered, clearly reflecting on something before looking back at the Zebra Tribe chief.
“I just can’t be certain of some people. They claim to want to cooperate with us, but if their true intention is to sell us out, I won’t stand for it.”
The Zebra Tribe chief understood that this was directed at him but remained silent, simply watching John.
After all, this entire plan was John’s doing, and he felt he had no place to speak in this matter.
“Alright, leave the rest to me. You can go about your tasks,” John said as he lightly waved his staff, sending a pale white orb of light into the Eagle Tribe chief’s body.
At first, the Eagle Tribe chief didn’t feel anything, and his suspicion only deepened.
But in the next moment, he sensed something different coursing through him.
He looked down at his hand, feeling a surge of new power within.
“This…”
The Eagle Tribe chief stared at John in astonishment, his eyes filled with disbelief.
He had expected that whatever power entered his body might harm him in some way.
But to his surprise, it didn’t harm him at all.
Instead, it enhanced him, far beyond what he had ever imagined.
