Chapter 415: Chapter415-Fear Solves Nothing
Upon hearing that voice, the team leader involuntarily shuddered.
He could distinctly feel his hands trembling, a deep-seated fear gripping him.
“One of our scout teams hasn’t returned yet, and even the magical beasts are missing…”
He couldn’t finish his sentence.
The last words hung in the air as he suddenly felt an invisible force constricting his throat.
His eyes bulged, nearly popping out, but he couldn’t control them.
He found himself clutching at his neck as if it would somehow ease his discomfort.
But his face was turning a shade of bluish-purple, and in the next second, he felt as though he would stop breathing entirely.
It felt as if a giant hand had grabbed his heart, ready to crush it the next moment, turning him into one of the lifeless bodies lying nearby.
Just when he thought he was certainly going to die, he was suddenly thrown to the ground.
Thud!
He hit the floor hard, his back screaming in pain, but at that moment, he could hardly care about the pain; he felt as though he had narrowly escaped death.
For the first time, he felt death was so close, and it was their own chieftain inflicting this terror.
Why? Why had their chieftain become this way? This was not the leader they remembered.
Even if his mind was full of questions, he dared not voice them now, forced to suppress his fears and doubts.
“When did this happen?”
A faint voice filled the air.
The young chieftain, gasping for breath, finally managed to say, “I don’t know, but it must have been just now, because the people who were supposed to go for the shift change haven’t gone yet, but they also haven’t come back to switch.”
Having been choked earlier, the team leader’s voice was uncontrollable as he spoke these words.
His voice was raspy, as if it had been scraped with sandpaper, and he could taste a hint of iron in his mouth, likely because his throat was damaged.
Yet, he dared not show any expression.
“Notify everyone to prepare for battle.”
The team leader’s body involuntarily shivered, then he nodded in understanding.
“Yes, I’ll arrange it right away.”
After the team leader had left, the owner of the voice slowly emerged.
This person now inhabited the body of a native, but if John and his group were here, they would surely recognize that this person’s gaze was identical to Vulture’s.
This person was indeed Vulture.
Vulture had thought he was doomed on the airship, but unexpectedly, he found himself in this secret realm.
What was most fatal was that it seemed his consciousness had transferred into this body, which belonged to the tribe’s chieftain.
That was somewhat of a relief; at least he wasn’t suffering any indignity.

However, his strength had been suppressed to only about the supreme-tier level, even though he used some power to break through, and the body he inhabited inherently possessed strong abilities.
Otherwise, he might only have the capabilities of a gold-tier.
This suppression was overwhelming at first, and he struggled to accept it.
But soon, he realized that if he was suppressed, others must be experiencing the same.
Moreover, according to the memories of this body, their tribe was the only one among the three tribes that could control magical beasts, making them the strongest presence.
This realization gave Vulture a different perspective.
He knew that the only way to leave this place was to defeat the other tribes.
Only by unifying all three tribes could they truly leave.
His essence was still out there, and he certainly wouldn’t linger in this place any longer than necessary.
Moreover, Vulture had not forgotten the humiliation John had inflicted upon him; he had stored every detail in his heart.
He was determined to make them pay.
As long as he could survive and leave this secret realm, or perhaps eliminate these people within it, things would be different.
He could then leverage more chips to threaten Benjamin into providing some answers.
The fact that the Zebra Tribe had launched an early attack meant there definitely were people on their side.
He just didn’t know who exactly.
But no matter who it was, they were his enemies, and he would ensure they met a graveless end.
With these thoughts, a slight smile curled at Vulture’s lips as he slowly stepped out of the wooden hut.
The people outside shuddered involuntarily upon seeing Vulture and respectfully moved aside, bowing deeply.
“Good day, Chieftain.”
He relished the sensation of being respected wherever he went.
He knew these people only feared his power and cared for nothing else, but that didn’t matter to him.
Anyone who did not listen to him deserved to die, to keep company with the King of Hell!
Feeling uplifted by this thought, Vulture looked at the sunlight and unconsciously clenched his fist.
The body he inhabited actually had a companion magical beast, a very large snow leopard.
However, he had killed that snow leopard on his first day there.
Because of this, many in the tribe looked at Vulture in disbelief.
After all, for them, a magical beast was like another family member, and they had just witnessed their chieftain killing one of their own.
But shortly after they raised their questions, they too met a graveless end.
Since then, no one dared to utter another word.
The main reason Vulture killed the snow leopard was that it seemed to sense he was not its original master.
It was unwilling to cooperate with him, snarling and showing threatening expressions whenever he approached.
Vulture never liked creatures that couldn’t be fully tamed.
If so, it was better to kill and eat the beast!
Later, Vulture forcefully subdued another magical beast.
“Is everyone ready?”
Vulture asked coolly, and the team leader involuntarily shuddered before lowering his head.
“Everything is ready.”
Vulture nodded in satisfaction, a slight smile curving the corners of his mouth.
He pulled out three potions from his storage pocket.
Although the people were very afraid of Vulture, their eyes involuntarily lit up at the sight of the three potions, as if they were very much looking forward to them.
“Want them?”
Vulture said softly.
The others responded with excited shouts.
“Want!”
Desire shone in everyone’s eyes.
How could they not want it?
This was something that could clearly enhance their strength!
While they had indeed been very afraid of the chieftain, they also saw in Vulture powers that did not belong to them.
In their eyes, the chieftain spoke of powers obtained from a deity.
The little bottles contained what they called divine water, which could quickly restore their physical strength and more, once consumed.
Even if their inscriptions had been used up in a short time, they had no worries.
They wouldn’t even need to reapply their inscription enchantments.
And if they sustained wounds, just drinking one of these potions, or applying it directly to their injuries, would ensure rapid healing, far faster than any of their herbs.
This was nothing short of divine power!
A warrior who drank one of these potions could see their strength doubled, a feat that would normally take years of sacrifice to achieve.
But now, it only took one potion.
These potions represented power! Who wouldn’t be tempted?
