Chapter 437: Chapter437-The Journey Home
After John had finally killed the High Priest, he let out a long, relieved breath.
Truth be told, he had been full of doubt and fear at the start, knowing how dangerous this mission was.
But he had never imagined that a single sneak attack would succeed so easily.
It seemed that the High Priest had been overconfident, never considering that he might be ambushed—or that such an ambush would be successful.
In that moment, it all came crashing down.
John and the others now understood what needed to be done next.
“Damn, that scared the hell out of me. I really thought we were done for, but we actually made it out alive. You’re incredible, John! You planned everything so perfectly,” Silver Tear said, still shaken by the ordeal.
He wasn’t sure what to do next; his face had gone numb when he unleashed that last skill.
It had been terrifying—utterly terrifying.
“Alright, enough about that. We need to figure out what to do with these people,” someone else said, gesturing toward the surviving villagers.
The expressions on their faces were a mix of terror and despair, some of them crying uncontrollably.
They had just witnessed their High Priest and chieftain being killed—something they had never imagined could happen.
The shock and fear were almost too much to bear.
“It’s fine. These people will find their own way. There’s no need for us to worry about them any further. They’ll take care of their own business,” Vincent said, letting out a sigh of relief.
They all knew what needed to be done but lacked the power to intervene.
Getting involved would only make things more dangerous for them.
“Alright then, what’s our next step? How do we get out of here?”
All eyes turned to John.
They knew he was the only one who could give them an answer, as he had been the one who had guided them through the mission so far.
John looked around at his companions and then at the native villagers.
He couldn’t help but sigh.
“Honestly, it’s pretty simple. We’ve had a plan in place all along. As long as we leave, these people will find a better path for themselves.”
“But we should really be thinking about what comes next. After all, we’re still floating in space, aren’t we?”
They were still within the secret realm, protected by its aura.
But once their consciousnesses left the realm, everything would change.
“I don’t have an escape pod. If any of you do, now would be the time to bring it out. But keep in mind, each pod can only hold three people, so with the number of us here, we’ll need at least two pods.”
The group exchanged glances and sighed.
None of them had escape pods.
“Ahem…”
Vincent cleared his throat, drawing everyone’s attention.

They all looked at him curiously, wondering what was going on.
“Well, I actually do have a small escape pod. The only problem is that it’s a bit tricky to use. We’ll have to be quick. Once I bring it out, we’ll need to get inside as fast as possible,” Vincent explained, somewhat sheepishly.
The others were stunned.
None of them had expected this.
It added an extra layer of danger to an already perilous situation.
“Damn, you really know how to make things difficult,” someone grumbled.
Their reaction times weren’t the issue, but this added twist was definitely going to complicate things.
“There’s no other way. If we don’t work together, this won’t end well for any of us,” Vincent said, looking around at his companions.
They sighed again, but at least they had a plan.
It was a small comfort in an otherwise dire situation.
“Alright, let’s give it a try. If something goes wrong, we’ll deal with it then,” one of them said.
They exchanged glances, silently agreeing.
Vincent then stood up and slowly closed his eyes.
A deep rumble filled the air, and they all felt a strange vibration in the atmosphere.
At the same time, a painful, tearing sensation spread through their bodies.
In the next moment, a massive black hole appeared in the air, as if devouring everything around it.
“Quick! We have to get out before this black hole consumes everything!” John shouted.
Without hesitation, they all jumped into the black hole.
As soon as they entered, they were engulfed by a searing pain, as though their bodies were being torn apart.
It was as if their very essence was being ripped from their physical forms.
They could feel their souls being drawn upward, away from the secret realm.
At that moment, John felt his assimilation reach 100%.
Without wasting a second, John led the group out of the realm.
If they delayed any longer, everyone here would die.
He couldn’t allow that to happen.
Just as they felt their souls being completely separated from their bodies, they lost consciousness from the pain.
But before they blacked out, they managed to secure themselves in the escape pod.
John only had time to activate a few protective shields before he, too, passed out.
He wasn’t even sure what state he was in when he lost consciousness.
But when he slowly came to, he found himself inside the escape pod, breathing a sigh of relief.
“Is everyone alright? Is everyone okay?”
John asked through the communication device.
He was in the pod with Vincent and Silver Tear, while Victor and Dark Fox were in the other pod.
When everyone confirmed that they were okay, John finally relaxed.
“Good. At least we made it. Now, we can finally head home. But the hard part is just beginning,” John said, half-joking.
The others couldn’t help but laugh, too.
The two small escape pods were filled with laughter.
They all knew that after everything they had been through, they had earned this moment of relief.
“Let’s go. You’ve earned yourself another medal for this, John. Taking out all those monsters and Space Pirates—when we get back, you’ll be recognized for sure,” Vincent said with a grin.
John laughed it off, not taking it too seriously.
“Come on, let’s just focus on getting home. If the principal finds out we’re still out here, we’ll never hear the end of it,” he joked, making the others laugh again.
The escape pods were filled with joy as they slowly made their way back to the capital.
The future was full of challenges, but for now, they could revel in the bright path that lay ahead.
