I'm The Devil - Chapter 161
Chapter 161: Hera’s Wrath
“Please, whoever that is above the gods, please help me, just enough to bring my children into this world”
Leto’s body contorted with pain as she lay sprawled on the cold, hard ground, her swollen belly aching with each agonizing contraction. The weight of her unborn children pressed heavily against her, their presence a constant reminder of the perilous situation in which she found herself.
Despite her overwhelming agony, Leto refused to succumb to despair, clinging to a flicker of hope that somehow, someway, she would find deliverance from her dire predicament. With each labored breath, she whispered fervent prayers to the higher beings above, beseeching them for aid in her time of need.
The sky above remained ominously silent, offering no solace or reprieve from Leto’s suffering. The cold indifference of the heavens weighed heavily upon her, casting doubt upon the efficacy of her pleas for divine intervention. Yet, Leto refused to abandon hope, clinging to the belief that some benevolent force would heed her cries and come to her aid.
As the pangs of labor intensified, Leto’s strength waned, her body wracked with pain as she struggled to endure the onslaught of contractions. Each wave of agony threatened to overwhelm her, testing the limits of her endurance and resolve. Yet, through sheer force of will, Leto persevered, drawing upon the last reserves of her strength to weather the storm raging within her.
With each passing moment, Leto’s prayers grew more desperate, her pleas for assistance echoing into the vast expanse of the heavens above. She prayed not only for her own salvation but for the safety and well-being of her unborn children, their tiny lives hanging in the balance as she fought against the encroaching darkness.
In the midst of her torment, Leto clung to a fragile thread of hope, praying that her cries for help would not fall upon deaf ears. For in the depths of her despair, she knew that only divine intervention could save her from the brink of oblivion, and she refused to relinquish her faith in the possibility of miracles.
“Wow, Zeus really forsook you and he is currently thinking of what I just told him, what a disgrace to men,” said a man radiating with light while his wings fluttered behind him making him appear as if he was some kind of a benevolent person who was here to save her.
If Leto did not know any better, she would have thought of him as those beings regarded as Angels who came to assist them when some gods went mad and tried to destroy everything in their sight.
“Lucifer, thank the heavens you are here, please help me, Hera sent her people to hunt me immediately after I left the presence of Zeus, she has completely gone mad, there is no stopping her,” said Leto glad that Lucifer was the one who came to her aid.
“Ah, Leto, my dear, what trouble have you stumbled into now?” Lucifer’s voice carried a playful lilt as he approached her, his steps light and confident.
Lucifer asked her playfully as if he had no idea why Hera was going out of her way to make sure Leto was dead together with her children.
Crouching beside her with a dramatic flair, Lucifer offered her a charming smile. “Seems like Hera’s out for blood today, but never fear, for I, Lucifer Morningstar, am here to rescue you from the clutches of chaos!”
With a flourish of his hand, he gestured for Leto to rise, his eyes sparkling with mischief. “You know, dealing with Hera’s temper tantrums is just another day in the life of yours truly. But fear not, my dear, for I thrive on a bit of chaos.”
Lucifer said and with a snap of his finger, a wave of energy left his body and spread out in the entire forest taking the lives of Leto’s pursuers in the process.
After he was done with that, he stretched his hands and grabbed Leto’s and together they both teleported out of there.
Hera’s Palace
“What’s the news Leto and do not give me excuses, I want good news from you,” said Hera who sitting on her throne looking at her servant who walked in.
The servant looked at Hera and began to sweat because she knew that there was no way, Hera was going to take this news lightly.
“Well, we don’t have all day, I still have things to take care of,” said Hera with a smile as she looked at her servant waiting for the good news, “you know, a queen’s work is never done”
The servant hesitated for a moment under Hera’s scrutinizing gaze before mustering the courage to speak. “My apologies, my lady, but there is no good news to report,” she began, her voice trembling slightly.
Hera’s smile faltered, replaced by a look of impatience. “What do you mean, no good news? Speak quickly, girl, and do not waste my time with your excuses.”
Taking a deep breath, the servant continued, “None of the people we sent to pursue Leto have returned. It’s as if they vanished into thin air. And as for Leto herself, she has disappeared without a trace. We’ve searched every corner of the kingdom, but there’s no sign of her anywhere.”
Hera’s expression darkened at the news, her anger simmering just beneath the surface. “Vanished without a trace, you say?” she muttered, her voice dangerously low. “And you expect me to believe that? This is incompetence of the highest order! How dare you come to me with such pitiful excuses!”
The servant bowed her head, trembling with fear as Hera’s rage washed over her. “I-I’m sorry, my lady. We did everything we could, but Leto seems to have evaded capture. Please forgive me for failing you.”
Hera’s lips curled into a sneer as she regarded the cowering servant before her. “Forgive you? There will be no forgiveness for this failure,” she spat. “You have proven yourself unworthy of serving me. Leave my sight at once, and do not show your face before me again until you have rectified this mistake.”
With a trembling nod, the servant hastily retreated from the throne room, leaving Hera alone with her simmering rage and her thoughts of revenge against Leto.
“How dare she defy me? Leto will rue the day she crossed me!” Hera bellowed, her fists clenched in rage. “No one escapes my wrath, not even a goddess like her!”
Her attendants cowered in fear, shrinking back against the walls as Hera’s fury raged unchecked. The air crackled with tension, and the very ground seemed to tremble beneath her feet.

“She thinks she can outwit me? She will learn the consequences of her folly,” Hera seethed, her eyes blazing with a dangerous light. “Send out word to every corner of the Realm. Leto must be found, and she must be brought to my feet!”
With a wave of her hand, Hera summoned her most trusted advisors and captains, commanding them to scour the land in search of Leto. Her voice echoed with the weight of her authority, and none dared to defy her command.
As her minions hurried to carry out her orders, Hera’s lips curled into a cruel smile. Leto may have eluded her for now, but soon she would be brought to heel, and Hera would revel in her downfall.
