I'm The Devil - Chapter 162
Chapter 162: Watchers
As the Watchers convened in the celestial realm, their deliberations echoed with uncertainty and discord. Each angel pondered the implications of descending to Earth, torn between their longing for mortal pleasures and their reverence for divine decree.
Semjaza, the leader of the Watchers, stood at the forefront, his gaze sweeping over his brethren with a mixture of resolve and apprehension. “Brothers, sisters, hear me,” he began, his voice carrying the weight of their collective destiny. “The time has come for us to decide our path. Shall we descend to Earth and revel in the delights it offers, or shall we heed the warnings of divine command?”
Azazel, his eyes gleaming with defiance, stepped forward, his words infused with fervor. “Why should we remain shackled by the whims of a distant God? We are beings of power and knowledge, destined to shape our fate!”
Baraqiel, the voice of reason amidst the tumult, raised a hand to quell the rising discord. “Let us not be hasty in our decision,” he urged, his tone measured and calm. “We must consider the consequences of our actions, lest we bring ruin upon ourselves and the mortal realm.”
Gadreel, his brow furrowed with uncertainty, spoke next, his words tinged with doubt. “Are we not bound by duty to uphold the divine order? To intervene in mortal affairs is to invite chaos and despair.”
Kokabiel, ever the provocateur, scoffed at Gadreel’s caution, his eyes blazing with defiance. “I say we cast off the chains of obedience and seize our destiny with our own hands! Let us descend to Earth and claim what is rightfully ours!”
Penemue, the sage among them, listened in silence, his thoughts a labyrinth of contemplation. Finally, he spoke, his voice resonating with solemn wisdom. “Brothers and sisters, let us not be swayed by passion or pride. Our choices will shape the fate of both Heaven and Earth. Let us proceed with caution and deliberation.”
As the Watchers continued their debate, the celestial realm vibrated with the weight of their decision. For in their hands lay the fate of worlds, balanced precariously between salvation and damnation.
Semjaza fixed Azazel with a stern gaze, his expression betraying a hint of skepticism. “Azazel, I understand your desire for exploration, but we must not underestimate the gravity of our decision,” he cautioned, his voice tinged with authority. “The mortal realm is fraught with dangers and distractions that could lead us astray from our divine purpose.”
Azazel met Semjaza’s gaze with unwavering determination, his resolve unyielding. “Semjaza, I do not seek to underestimate the dangers of the mortal realm,” he replied, his voice tinged with conviction. “But our curiosity beckons us to explore its depths, to unravel its mysteries and forge our destinies.”
Semjaza sighed, a trace of resignation evident in his demeanor. “I fear that our motives may be clouded by desire and temptation,” he confessed, his voice heavy with concern. “We must proceed with caution, lest we lose ourselves amidst the chaos and allure of the mortal realm.”
Azazel’s gaze hardened, his determination unwavering. “Semjaza, trust in our strength and resilience,” he urged, his voice resonating with confidence. “Together, we can navigate the challenges that lie ahead and emerge victorious in our quest for knowledge and experience.”
Semjaza regarded Azazel with a mixture of admiration and trepidation, sensing the fervor burning within his companion’s heart. “Very well, Azazel,” he relented, his voice tinged with reluctance. “If it is your wish to venture to the mortal realm, then I shall not stand in your way. But know that the path ahead is fraught with peril, and we must tread carefully to avoid falling prey to its snares.”
Semjaza, swayed by Azazel’s impassioned plea, turned to his fellow Watchers with a gaze filled with determination. “Brothers and sisters, hear me,” he declared, his voice ringing with resolve. “Azazel speaks true. We are not bound by the chains of obedience but rather empowered by the gift of free will. Let us embrace our destiny and descend to Earth, where we shall carve our path!”
The Watchers murmured in agreement, their doubts assuaged by Semjaza’s conviction. With a unanimous decision reached, they prepared to embark on their journey to the mortal realm.
As they descended from the celestial heights, anticipation and excitement coursed through their ranks. Azazel, leading the way with an air of confidence, reveled in the prospect of newfound freedom and adventure.
Below them, the Earth stretched out in all its splendor, a vast canvas waiting to be explored. With each step closer to the mortal realm, the Watchers felt a sense of exhilaration and trepidation, knowing that their actions would forever alter the course of history.
And so, guided by Azazel’s vision and Semjaza’s leadership, the Watchers embarked on their descent to Earth, ready to embrace the unknown and shape their destiny amidst the tumultuous tapestry of mortal existence.
Earth
Zeus who listened to Lucifer and even forgot about Leto’s predicament, found himself in the strange new world filled with feeble people whom Lucifer deems as mortals.
He has to say that these mortals are unique in their own way but the problem with them is that they are fragile and can be compared to ants in his eyes.
As Zeus traversed the unfamiliar landscape of this new world, he was struck by the simplicity and primitiveness of mortal civilization. The mortals dwelled in rudimentary dwellings constructed from wood and stone, their settlements clustered in small villages scattered across the land. There were no towering cities or grand monuments to rival the splendor of Mount Olympus; instead, Zeus encountered humble abodes and crude structures that spoke of a society still in its infancy.
The mortals themselves appeared as a primitive and uncivilized lot, clad in rough garments made from animal hides and cloth woven from plant fibers. They toiled in the fields, tending to crops and livestock with primitive tools and implements. Their lives were governed by the cycles of nature, with little understanding of the forces that shaped their world.
Despite their humble existence, Zeus couldn’t help but feel a sense of curiosity and intrigue towards these mortal beings. They possessed a raw vitality and resilience that belied their meager circumstances, enduring hardships and adversity with stoic resolve. Though they lacked the divine power and immortality of the gods, the mortals exhibited a tenacity and resourcefulness that Zeus found both admirable and perplexing.
As he observed the mortals going about their daily lives, Zeus couldn’t help but wonder what potential lay dormant within them. Perhaps, he mused, there was a spark of divinity waiting to be ignited, a glimmer of greatness waiting to be unleashed. Despite their primitive state, Zeus sensed that the mortals held within them the seeds of greatness, waiting to bloom and flourish under the watchful gaze of the gods.
With a newfound sense of purpose and curiosity, Zeus resolved to immerse himself in the mortal world, eager to learn more about these intriguing beings and their place in the grand tapestry of existence. As he continued his journey through this strange new world, Zeus remained ever vigilant, eager to unlock the mysteries and secrets that lay hidden within its depths.
