I'm The Devil - Chapter 166
Chapter 166: Zeus Vs The Watchers 2
“Aren’t you the ones who are trying to manipulate and control them?”
“You cannot face the two of us with your present condition, so I will advise you to take a step back and let us do what we want, after all, you are also not welcome here,” said Semjaza trying to prevent any confrontation with Zeus.
Zeus scoffed as he heard that, “Even if I am currently not in my peak condition, it will take more than the likes of you to defeat me”
Zeus said this as he released his full power causing the nearby spectators who were watching from quite a distance to shriek back in fear.
Azazel frowned as he did not expect Zeus to still have this much strength despite his earlier fights.
He now knew that Zeus was not to be underestimated but he also believed that there was no way that he could take both him and Semjaza together with his current strength.
Azazel and Semjaza looked at each other and they both understood each other.
Without wasting any more time, the two of them engaged Zeus in battle.
With a surge of celestial power, they unleashed a barrage of divine energy, their combined forces converging in a dazzling display of light and sound.
Despite his weariness from the earlier battle, Zeus summoned the last reserves of his strength, his lightning bolts crackling with raw power as he clashed with his adversaries. With each thunderous blow, the ground trembled beneath their feet, echoing the ferocity of their struggle.
Semjaza and Azazel fought with a relentless determination, their celestial powers pushing Zeus to his limits. Yet, even as he faltered under their onslaught, the king of the gods refused to yield, his resolve unwavering in the face of adversity.
With a mighty roar, Zeus unleashed a final surge of divine energy, the force of his attack driving back his opponents with a deafening roar. As Semjaza and Azazel staggered under the impact, Zeus seized the opportunity to make his escape, his form engulfed in a blinding flash of light as he vanished from sight.
In the aftermath of the battle, Semjaza and Azazel surveyed the battlefield with a mixture of frustration and resignation. Though they had managed to drive off their adversary, they knew that Zeus would not be defeated so easily. With a solemn nod, they acknowledged the gravity of the situation, knowing that their conflict with the king of the gods was far from over.
As the dust settled from their recent confrontation with Zeus, the Watchers convened a solemn meeting to discuss the implications of their encounter and strategize for the future. Gathered in a secluded chamber hidden from mortal eyes, they exchanged grave looks, their expressions reflecting the gravity of the situation.
Semjaza, the leader of the Watchers, spoke first, his voice resonating with authority as he addressed his comrades. “Today’s events have made one thing abundantly clear: there are other beings out there and we do not know who they are or what they are but from the man whom we fought earlier, he calls himself a god and not just a god but the king of gods, which makes us believe that there are more of them, we cannot let them continue to intervene in our affairs. We must be prepared to defend against future incursions, lest our world fall victim to their whims.”
Azazel, his eyes ablaze with determination, nodded in agreement. “Agreed, but how do we proceed? We cannot hope to match these gods in direct confrontation. We must devise a strategy that will allow us to hold our ground while minimizing casualties among the mortals.”
Several other Watchers murmured in assent, their minds already racing with potential solutions to the dilemma at hand. Baraqiel, known for his tactical prowess, suggested fortifying their positions and establishing a network of defensive wards to repel any hostile forces that might threaten their realm.
Others proposed recruiting mortal champions to aid in their defense whom they will train in the mystical arts (magic), individuals gifted with exceptional abilities and unwavering loyalty to the cause. With their help, they reasoned, they could stand against even the mightiest of gods and emerge victorious.
Semjaza listened carefully to each suggestion, weighing the merits of their various proposals before rendering his decision. “We will implement a multi-faceted approach,” he declared, his voice firm with resolve. “We will fortify our defenses, train the mortal in the mystical arts, and train our own armies to withstand any threat that may arise. Together, we will ensure the safety and security of our realm, no matter the cost.”
With their plan in place, the Watchers set about their preparations, knowing that the road ahead would be fraught with peril. Yet, united in purpose and determination, they faced the challenges that lay before them with unwavering resolve, ready to defend their world against all who would seek to do it harm.
In the desolate wasteland, Cain, the Primordial Vampire, wandered aimlessly, his eternal existence marked by solitude and regret. Lost in the vast expanse of the barren landscape, he moved with the grace of a predator, his senses attuned to the subtle rhythms of the world around him.
As he traversed the desolate terrain, Cain noticed a sudden burst of blinding light that illuminated the bleak landscape, casting stark shadows across the barren earth. Intrigued by the unexpected phenomenon, he approached cautiously, his instincts alert for any sign of danger.
Drawing closer, Cain saw the figure of a man standing amidst the swirling mists, his form obscured by the lingering haze of light. Curiosity piqued, Cain approached the stranger, his gaze narrowing as he studied the newcomer with a mixture of wariness and intrigue.
“Who are you, stranger?” Cain asked, his voice echoing through the desolate landscape.
The man turned to face him, his features obscured by the brightness of the light. “I am Zeus, king of the gods,” he replied, his voice carrying the weight of ages.
