I'm The Devil - Chapter 179
Chapter 179: Training
As Celeste gazed up at the darkening sky, a sense of foreboding washed over her. She had sensed Cain’s dark energy at work, weaving his dark magic and carrying out his sinister plans. It was a feeling she knew all too well—a feeling of dread and apprehension that had haunted her since the moment she had first encountered the enigmatic vampire.
“He has done it,” Celeste murmured to herself, her voice barely above a whisper. “He has made more like him.”
The realization sent a chill down her spine, for she knew all too well the dangers of allowing Cain to create more creatures like himself. His insatiable thirst for power and control knew no bounds, and she feared what havoc he might wreak upon the mortal realm with his newfound army of vampires.
But as Celeste pondered the implications of Cain’s actions, she also felt a pang of regret. Regret for her role in enabling him, for her failure to stop him before it was too late. She had underestimated the extent of Cain’s cunning and deceit, and now, she found herself grappling with the consequences of her inaction.
She was powerless to stop him. All she could do was watch and wait, hoping against hope that someone would rise to challenge him and put an end to his reign of terror once and for all.
As the darkness enveloped her, Celeste closed her eyes and uttered a silent prayer for the fate of the mortal realm. For she knew that the coming days would bring nothing but chaos and destruction and that only the bravest and most courageous souls would have any hope of surviving the impending storm.
Elsewhere
Cain led Mabel through the dimly lit streets of the city, the shadows seeming to dance around them as they walked. Mabel’s senses were heightened, her newfound vampire instincts alert and attuned to her surroundings. She could hear the faintest rustle of leaves in the breeze, smell the distant scent of blood in the air, and feel the pulse of life throbbing beneath her skin.
“Welcome to my world, Mabel,” Cain said, his voice low and melodic. “As a vampire, you possess abilities far beyond those of mortal men. Your senses are sharper, and your strength and speed are enhanced. You are no longer bound by the limitations of the human body.”
Mabel nodded, taking in everything Cain said with a mixture of awe and trepidation. She had always been fascinated by the supernatural, but she never imagined she would become a part of it herself.
Cain continued to guide her through the city, showing her the hidden corners and secret passages known only to him. He taught her how to move silently through the shadows, how to blend in with the night and remain unseen by mortal eyes.
“As a vampire, you must learn to feed,” Cain said, his voice taking on a more serious tone. “Blood is the source of our power, our life force. Without it, we cannot survive.”
Mabel shuddered at the thought of feeding on another living being, but she knew it was a necessity of her new existence. Cain assured her that there were ways to feed without causing harm to others, ways to take only what they needed to sustain themselves.
Mabel felt a sense of excitement and liberation coursing through her veins. She was no longer bound by the constraints of mortal life, no longer confined to the limitations of the human experience. She was a vampire now, and the world was hers to explore. And with Cain by her side as her mentor and guide, she knew she had nothing to fear.
Under the cloak of night, Mabel prowled the deserted streets, her senses attuned to the slightest movement and sound. She could hear the rhythmic beat of a mortal’s heart, smell the tantalizing scent of their blood pulsing through their veins. Hunger gnawed at her insides, driving her onward in search of sustenance.
It wasn’t long before Mabel spotted her prey, a lone figure walking home from a late night shift, oblivious to the danger lurking in the shadows. With a predatory grace, Mabel stalked closer, her footsteps silent against the pavement.
As she drew nearer, Mabel could feel the adrenaline coursing through her veins, her fangs elongating in anticipation of the feast to come. She could almost taste the sweet, metallic tang of blood on her tongue.
With a sudden burst of speed, Mabel lunged at her prey, pinning them to the ground before they could even cry out for help. The mortal struggled against her grip, but Mabel’s strength was far greater than theirs. With a swift movement, she sank her fangs into their neck, the warm rush of blood flooding her mouth and filling her with a intoxicating euphoria.
For a moment, Mabel lost herself in the ecstasy of the feed, her senses overwhelmed by the primal urge to consume. But as the mortal’s life force began to wake , she pulled away, leaving them lying on the ground, weak and disoriented.
As she wiped the blood from her lips, Mabel felt a mixture of guilt and satisfaction coursing through her. She knew that feeding on humans was a necessary evil of her new existence, but she couldn’t shake the feeling of remorse for the life she had taken.
But as the hunger subsided and her strength returned, Mabel knew that she would do whatever it took to survive in this unforgiving world. She was a vampire now, and not the old weak bar owner Mabel she was. She is now a predator and a creature of the night.
As Mabel finished feeding and wiped the remnants of blood from her lips, she sensed a presence behind her. Turning, she found Cain standing there, his eyes gleaming with approval.
“Well done, Mabel,” he said, his voice low and velvety. “you’re a natural.”
Mabel felt a rush of pride at his words, grateful for his guidance in this new world.
