I'm The Devil - Chapter 181
Chapter 181: Getting Allies
Celeste took a deep breath, steeling herself for the encounter ahead. She had never spoken to Seth before, but she knew that he was a key player in the battle against Cain, and she needed his help if they were to have any hope of stopping him.
Approaching Seth’s dwelling, Celeste hesitated for a moment before knocking on the door. She could hear the sounds of movement from inside, and she braced herself for whatever reaction she might receive.
The door opened slowly, revealing Seth standing on the other side, his expression unreadable. Celeste could sense the tension in the air as she met his gaze, and she knew that she would have to tread carefully if she wanted to gain his cooperation.
“Seth,” Celeste began, her voice steady. “I hope I’m not intruding, but I need to speak with you.”
Seth regarded Celeste warily, his gaze searching her face for any sign of deception. This was his first time seeing someone like her which made him wonder how she knew his name when they hadn’t met before.
“Who are you and how did you know my name?” Seth asked, his tone guarded.
“I have a proposition for you,” Celeste replied, choosing her words carefully. “I know that we haven’t always seen eye to eye, but we both want the same thing – to stop Cain and protect our realm. I believe that together, we can accomplish that goal.”
Seth listened intently, his skepticism slowly giving way to curiosity. He knew that he couldn’t defeat Cain alone, and if Celeste had a plan, it was worth hearing her out.
“Go on,” Seth said hearing the name of his hateful brother, gesturing for Celeste to continue.
“I have information that could help us defeat Cain,” Celeste explained. “But I can’t do it alone. I need your help, Seth. Will you join forces with me to stop Cain once and for all?”
Seth considered Celeste’s words carefully, weighing the risks and rewards of working with her. He knew that he couldn’t trust her completely, but if she had information that could help them defeat Cain, it was worth the risk.
“Fine,” Seth said, his voice resigned. “But don’t think for a second that I trust you. I’m only helping you in your endeavors because my brother is involved, so if you think even for a second of betraying me, I will not mean joining my brother to kill you lots.”
Celeste nodded, understanding the gravity of Seth’s warning. She knew that she had to prove herself if she wanted to earn his trust.
“Agreed,” Celeste replied. “Now, let me tell you my plan…”
A few hours later
Celeste led Seth through the grand halls of the Celestial Council’s chambers, the weight of their footsteps echoing against the polished marble floors. Seth couldn’t help but feel a sense of awe as he gazed around at the opulent surroundings, the walls adorned with intricate tapestries depicting scenes of celestial beings and their mortal counterparts.
As they approached the council chambers, Celeste turned to Seth with a reassuring smile. “Remember, Seth, you’re here as my guest,” she said softly. “Just follow my lead, and everything will be fine.”
Seth nodded, steeling himself for the encounter ahead. He knew that he would be meeting some of the most powerful beings in this world, and he couldn’t afford to make a misstep.
The doors to the council chambers swung open, revealing a vast chamber filled with high-ranking members of the Celestial Council. Celeste led Seth inside, her presence commanding the attention of everyone in the room.
“My fellow council members,” Celeste announced, her voice ringing out with authority. “I present to you Seth, a brother of Cain and a powerful ally in our fight against him. He has agreed to join forces with us in our quest to stop him once and for all.”
The council members regarded Seth with a mixture of curiosity and skepticism, their eyes scanning him from head to toe. Seth stood tall under their scrutiny, his gaze steady as he met their stares with unwavering resolve.
“I know that some of you may have doubts about Seth’s intentions,” Celeste continued her voice firm. “But I assure you, he is committed to our cause. With his help, I believe that we can finally put an end to Cain’s reign of terror.”
A murmur of approval rippled through the council chambers, the members nodding in agreement with Celeste’s words. They knew that they needed all the help they could get if they were to stand a chance against Cain, and Seth’s presence was a welcome addition to their ranks.
As Seth stood among the members of the Celestial Council, he couldn’t help but feel a sense of curiosity about each one of them. With his keen observational skills honed over years of navigating the mortal realm, he found himself silently assessing the council members, studying their demeanor and character.
His gaze swept across the room, taking in the varied expressions and attitudes of those gathered before him. Some exuded an air of authority, their confident demeanor marking them as seasoned leaders within the celestial hierarchy. Seth noted the way they held themselves with poise and dignity, their every movement calculated and purposeful.
Then others seemed more reserved, their features masked by a veil of inscrutability. Seth could sense an undercurrent of power emanating from them, a silent strength that belied their outward appearance. He made a mental note to tread carefully around these individuals, recognizing that their true intentions may not be immediately apparent.
As his eyes roamed the room, Seth’s attention was drawn to Celeste, who stood at the forefront of the council chambers, her presence commanding the attention of all who were present. He watched her closely, noting the determination etched into her features and the unwavering resolve in her gaze.
“Now that we are all ready, it is time to look for the weapon that can kill Cain. Like Celeste said no weapon she used could killed him as they proved ineffective against him, all they did was only weaken him”
“Celeste could help us with that”
