I'm The Devil - Chapter 184
Chapter 184: Lucifer Meets Cain
“Easy there, believe me, you don’t want to go down that route”
They heard a voice sound from the portal and a man of Celestial beauty emerged from the portal as he looked at them with a smile on his face.
“The name’s Lucifer”
Cain’s grip on his weapon tightened as he sized up the stranger who had suddenly appeared before them. Mabel, standing beside him, mirrored his caution, her expression guarded as she watched the newcomer warily.
“Who are you?” Cain demanded, his voice sharp with suspicion.
The stranger, who bore an otherworldly aura of power and authority, offered them a charming smile. “Like I said before, I am Lucifer,” he replied smoothly, his voice carrying an air of confidence.
Cain’s eyes narrowed as he assessed the situation. He had never heard of a being named Lucifer, and the name alone sent a shiver down his spine. Beside him, Mabel tensed, her hand drifting toward her weapon.
“We don’t need any trouble here,” Cain said, his tone firm. “Just tell us what you want and be on your way.”
Lucifer’s smile widened, though there was a hint of mischief in his eyes. “No need to be so hostile, my friends,” he said, his voice smooth as silk. “I come in peace, I assure you.”
Cain remained skeptical, his instincts warning him to tread carefully. “We have no business with you, Lucifer,” he replied, his voice steely. “Leave us be.”
Lucifer’s smile faltered slightly at Cain’s refusal to engage with him, but he quickly regained his composure. “I’m afraid that would not be possible,” he said with a shrug. “You see, I came here to take a look at the situation in the mortal realm, and I intend to do so before I leave your Realm. And you both are in no position to tell me whether to leave or stay.”
Cain exchanged a wary glance with Mabel, both of them unsure of what to make of this unexpected visitor. They had never encountered anyone like Lucifer before, and his presence filled them with a sense of unease.
“Look, we don’t want any trouble,” Mabel interjected, her voice tense. “We’re just trying to mind our own business here. Whatever you’re looking for, I suggest you look elsewhere.”
Lucifer chuckled softly, his gaze shifting between Cain and Mabel. “Oh, I’m sure you don’t want trouble,” he said, his tone dripping with sarcasm. “But unfortunately for you, trouble has a way of finding us all, whether we like it or not.”
Cain’s hand tightened on his weapon, his patience wearing thin. He didn’t trust Lucifer, and he didn’t appreciate the thinly veiled threats. But before he could respond, the sound of approaching footsteps caught their attention.
A group of celestial beings emerged from the shadows, their expressions wary as they took in the scene before them. Cain recognized them as members of the Celestial Council, and he braced himself for whatever was about to unfold.
As the council members approached, Lucifer’s smile widened, his eyes gleaming with amusement. “Ah, it seems we have some guests,” he said, his voice tinged with satisfaction. “And from the looks of it, I supposed they are not friends of yours, so why don’t you come with me, I can help you with this one”
Cain exchanged a wary glance with Mabel, both of them unsure of what to make of this sudden turn of events, “I don’t want your help, for all I know, you might be one of them, the timing couldn’t be any more right” said Cain as his fangs elongated and he grew claws while his eyes turned to a darker shade of red, “we are capable on our own”
Mabel also transformed and stood beside Cain while letting out a low growl.
As Cain and Mabel transformed before his eyes, Lucifer’s surprise was evident, though it quickly morphed into amusement. “Well, well, well,” he muttered under his breath, his eyes gleaming with fascination. “A vampire, how fascinating.”
Cain’s eyes narrowed as he regarded Lucifer warily, his senses on high alert. He didn’t trust this newcomer, especially not after the appearance of the celestial council members. Something about the situation didn’t sit right with him, and he couldn’t shake the feeling that they were being manipulated.
“We don’t need your help,” Cain growled, his voice low and dangerous. “We’ll handle this on our own.”
Lucifer’s smile widened at Cain’s defiance, his expression bordering on amusement. “Oh, but you misunderstand me, my friend,” he said, his voice smooth as silk. “I have no intention of interfering with your affairs. Quite the opposite, in fact. I merely offer my assistance as a gesture of goodwill.”
Cain’s grip on his weapon tightened as he regarded Lucifer with suspicion. He didn’t trust the fallen angel’s intentions, and he certainly wasn’t about to accept help from someone he barely knew.
“We don’t need your goodwill,” Cain replied, his voice dripping with disdain. “We’ll handle the situation ourselves, just like we always have.”
Lucifer’s smile faltered slightly at Cain’s rejection, though his eyes continued to gleam with amusement. “Very well,” he said with a shrug. “But should you ever find yourselves in need of assistance, you can contact me using this, Cain, son of Adam”
Cain’s eyes widened in surprise as Lucifer addressed him by name, a cold shiver running down his spine. How did this stranger know his name? And more importantly, how did he know about his lineage, about his connection to Adam, the father of humanity?
“How do you know my name?” Cain demanded, his voice tinged with suspicion. “And how do you know about my father?”
Lucifer merely smiled, his eyes glinting with amusement. “I know many things, Cain,” he replied cryptically. “Things that would surprise you. But as for your father, well, let’s just say that he and I have a long history.”

Before Cain could press the matter further, Lucifer raised a hand in a casual gesture of farewell. “Until we meet again, Cain,” he said with a smirk, before disappearing into the shadows.
