Chapter 185: Warding Off The Celestial Council
As Lucifer vanished into the shadows, Cain turned to Mabel, his expression troubled. “Did you hear what he said?” he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
Mabel nodded, her eyes reflecting the same unease that gnawed at Cain’s insides. “Yes,” she replied, her voice tinged with uncertainty. “It’s… unsettling, to say the least.”
“We need to find out more about him,” Cain said, his tone resolute. “We can’t afford to ignore this.”
Mabel nodded in agreement, her gaze unwavering. “Agreed,” she said. “But how do we proceed? We don’t even know where to start.”
Cain’s brow furrowed as he pondered their next move. They would need to gather information, to uncover the truth behind Lucifer’s words and his connection to their family. But with so many unknowns and dangers lurking in the shadows, it would not be an easy task.
“We’ll seek guidance from the Watchers,” Cain suggested, his voice firm. “They are ancient beings, wise beyond measure. If anyone can shed light on Lucifer’s intentions, it’s them.”
Mabel nodded in agreement, her expression grim. “And how are we going to do that, last time that I checked, you are a target of their descendants, so they are likely going to refuse to help us if by chance we do manage to get to them?” she asked, her voice barely a whisper.
Cain’s jaw tightened, his resolve hardening. “Then we’ll find another way,” he replied, his tone unwavering. “We won’t let Lucifer’s words go unanswered.”
Cain said but right now he has to get rid of this Celestial Council member on his back today before he could think of what to do about Lucifer’s situation.
Cain turned his attention back to the Celestial Council member who had been tailing him, his eyes narrowing with suspicion. He could sense the tension in the air, the unspoken threat that hung between them like a dark cloud.
“What do you want?” Cain demanded, his voice cold and commanding.
The council member, a figure cloaked in robes of shimmering light, regarded Cain with a mixture of curiosity and disdain. “I am here on behalf of the Celestial Council,” they replied, their voice echoing with an otherworldly resonance. “We have been monitoring your actions closely, Cain, and we have reason to believe that you may pose a threat to the balance of power within the mortal realm.”
Cain’s lips twisted into a sardonic smirk. “And what if I do?” he retorted, his tone laced with defiance. “What business is it of yours?”
The council member’s eyes flashed with indignation, their expression hardening. “It is our duty to uphold the laws of the celestial realm and maintain order,” they replied, their voice tinged with authority. “If you insist on defying us, we will be forced to take action.”
Cain bristled at the council member’s words, his temper flaring. He had never been one to bow to authority, especially when it came from beings as self-righteous as the members of the Celestial Council.
“Take your threats elsewhere,” Cain spat, his voice dripping with contempt. “I have no interest in your petty power struggles even now more than ever. Now leave me be, or suffer the consequences.”
With that, Cain turned on his heel and stalked away, his mind ablaze with thoughts of revenge and defiance. He would not be cowed by the Celestial Council or anyone else who sought to control him. He was a creature of darkness and chaos, and he would let nothing stand in his way.
As Cain and Mabel stood their ground, surrounded by the members of the Celestial Council, they prepared themselves for battle. The air crackled with tension as both sides sized each other up, each aware of the stakes of the impending conflict.
“Then you leave me no choice,” said the cloaked figure who raised his hands, and other cloaked figures also appeared one after the other.
With a fierce battle cry, Cain lunged forward, his movements fluid and precise as he engaged the nearest council member in combat. His claws glinted in the dim light as he struck out with deadly accuracy, his fangs bared in a snarl of aggression.
Beside him, Mabel fought with equal ferocity, her movements a blur of speed and agility as she dodged attacks and countered with her own strikes. Her eyes blazed with determination as she unleashed her full strength against their adversaries, her loyalty to Cain lending her strength and resolve.
The members of the Celestial Council fought back with all the power at their disposal, their magic crackling through the air as they unleashed spells and incantations against their foes. But Cain and Mabel were undaunted, their resolve unshakeable as they pushed forward against the onslaught.
With each passing moment, the battle grew more intense, the clash of weapons and the roar of magic filling the air with chaos and fury. But Cain and Mabel fought on, their determination unwavering as they faced down their enemies with courage and defiance.
As the dust settled and the echoes of battle faded, Cain and Mabel emerged victorious, their adversaries lying defeated at their feet. With a weary sigh, they surveyed the aftermath of the conflict, their hearts heavy with the knowledge that more challenges lay ahead.
As the dust settled and the echoes of battle faded, Cain and Mabel exchanged a weary glance, their breaths heavy with exhaustion. Despite their victory, they knew that their enemies would not stay defeated for long, and they needed to retreat before reinforcements arrived.
“We need to go,” Cain said, his voice grim as he scanned the battlefield for any signs of movement. “There will be more of them coming, and we can’t afford to stay here.”
Mabel nodded in agreement, her eyes darting warily to the fallen members of the Celestial Council. With a determined expression, she tightened her grip on her weapon and prepared to leave.
Together, Cain and Mabel made their way through the carnage, their footsteps echoing in the silence of the aftermath.
“We’ll find a way to deal with them,” Cain said, his voice resolute. “But for now, we need to find the watchers, Lucifer has just gotten my full attention.”

With that, they turned and disappeared into the shadows, leaving behind the chaos and destruction of the battlefield.
Meanwhile, one of the members of the Celestial Council, battered and bruised but still alive, staggered to his feet and limped away from the scene. His heart raced with fear as he realized the magnitude of their defeat, and he knew that he had to report back to his superiors with haste.
With every step, he cursed his luck and vowed revenge against Cain and Mabel for their audacity in challenging the might of the Celestial Council.
