I'm The Devil - Chapter 190
Chapter 190: Arcane Builders
The Guildhall of the Arcane Builders buzzed with an unprecedented level of activity as Master Eamon gathered the finest artisans, engineers, and magicians of the guild. The task ahead was monumental, and the urgency imparted by the Celestial Council weighed heavily on everyone’s minds. Yet, with this weight came a sense of purpose and excitement that galvanized the team into action.
Eamon stood at the center of the grand chamber, his presence a calm anchor amidst the bustling energy. The intricately carved wooden discs provided by the council lay before him, each one imbued with celestial energy that radiated a soft, ethereal glow. These would be the heart of their construction, the core around which everything would be built.
“Attention, everyone,” Eamon’s voice echoed through the hall, drawing the focus of the gathered builders. “We have been entrusted with a project of unparalleled importance. Our task is to construct a tower, one that can harness and amplify celestial energy. The specifics of its purpose are known only to me, but rest assured, this endeavor is crucial for the balance of our realms.”
The builders, a diverse group of skilled men and women, nodded in unison. They were no strangers to challenging tasks, but this project was unlike any they had undertaken before. Eamon continued, “We will utilize our unique mind link to streamline our efforts. This link, as you know, allows us to communicate instantly and share thoughts, ideas, and plans without the need for words. It will be our greatest asset in completing this tower swiftly and efficiently.”
He closed his eyes briefly, focusing his mind. Within moments, a subtle mental hum resonated through the minds of the builders, signaling the activation of the mind link. Instantly, a flood of thoughts and images filled their consciousness, creating a shared vision of the tower they were to build.
The tower’s design began to take shape in their minds: a majestic structure rising high above the city, its spire reaching for the heavens. Each level of the tower would serve a specific function, meticulously crafted to channel and amplify the celestial energy. The base would be fortified with enchanted stones, while the upper levels would house intricate arrays of runes and symbols, each contributing to the tower’s overall purpose.
Eamon transmitted detailed schematics through the mind link, highlighting specific tasks for each team member. The masons received instructions on carving the enchanted stones, the engineers visualized the mechanisms required to control the energy flow, and the magicians saw the complex patterns of runes they needed to inscribe.
“Begin with the foundation,” Eamon instructed. “We must ensure that the base is strong and stable. Use the enchanted stones provided by the council. They are infused with celestial energy and will form the cornerstone of our structure.”
The masons moved to the designated area, their tools ready. They worked in perfect harmony, their actions synchronized through the mind link. Each strike of the hammer and each cut of the chisel was coordinated, creating a seamless and efficient workflow. Within hours, the foundation of the tower began to take shape, its stones glowing faintly with the celestial energy they contained.
Next, the engineers set to work on the tower’s framework. They visualized the intricate gears and mechanisms that would control the energy flow, and their designs transmitted instantly through the mind link. Every bolt and beam was placed with precision, forming a skeletal structure that would support the tower’s upper levels.
As the framework rose higher, the magicians took their place. They inscribed complex runes and symbols onto the walls, each one a piece of the larger puzzle. The runes glowed with a soft, blue light as they were activated, resonating with the celestial energy and forming a network of interconnected power.
Eamon moved between the groups, offering guidance and ensuring that every aspect of the construction was aligned with the council’s specifications. His mind remained a focal point in the link, a beacon of knowledge and direction that kept the builders focused and united in their purpose.
Days turned into weeks as the tower grew, its spire piercing the sky above Lorian. The builders worked tirelessly, their efforts never faltering. The mind link allowed them to function as a single, cohesive unit, their thoughts and actions perfectly synchronized. Each completed section of the tower brought a sense of accomplishment and renewed determination.
Unbeknownst to them, Lucifer stood on the balcony of an inn, observing the construction with a mix of curiosity and amusement. He swirled the wine in his goblet, the dark liquid catching the light of the setting sun. The scene before him was a hive of activity, a testament to the Arcane Builders’ renowned skill and dedication.
“So this is the famous Tower of Babel,” he murmured, taking a sip of his wine. His eyes gleamed with a knowing glint, recognizing the scale of the endeavor and the secrets it undoubtedly held. He leaned against the balcony railing, his posture relaxed but his mind alert.
Lucifer watched with keen interest, noting the meticulous care and the almost reverent dedication of the builders. He could sense the power emanating from the structure, a testament to the fusion of human ingenuity and magical talent. He took another sip of his wine, savoring the moment.
“Fools,” he muttered to himself, his lips curling into a sardonic smile. “They have no idea what they are truly creating. Their ambition will be their downfall.”
Lucifer’s eyes narrowed as he observed the ethereal glow that began to emanate from the tower. The conduits were being activated, channeling energy in ways that defied the understanding of even the most learned scholars. He could feel the power building, a subtle hum that resonated in the air.
“Interesting,” he mused, his gaze fixed on the structure. “Very interesting.”
Despite his outwardly relaxed demeanor, Lucifer was acutely aware of the implications of the tower’s completion. He knew the Celestial Council was behind this endeavor, and he could sense the desperation driving them. The tower was not just a monument to human and arcane achievement; it was a weapon, one designed to tip the scales in a conflict that had raged for centuries.
Lucifer drained the last of his wine and set the goblet down on the balcony railing. He straightened, his gaze never leaving the tower. “Let them build,” he said softly, a hint of menace in his voice. “In the end, it will all come crashing down.”
As Lucifer observed the construction of the Tower of Babel, he couldn’t help but chuckle at the irony of mortal ambition. Unlike the unsuspecting builders, Lucifer was well aware of the true purpose behind the tower—a gateway to other realms. It was a bold and audacious endeavor, one that intrigued and amused him simultaneously.
With his keen insight and knowledge of the arcane, Lucifer discerned the intricate design and the magical components woven into the structure. While the builders toiled away, oblivious to the tower’s ultimate function, Lucifer saw beyond the physical realm, envisioning the vast potential and possibilities that awaited those who dared to unlock the secrets of the tower.
With a wry smile, Lucifer contemplated the consequences of mortal curiosity and ambition. The Tower of Babel was a testament to humanity’s ceaseless pursuit of power and knowledge, yet it also symbolized their inherent limitations and folly. As the tower reached ever higher into the heavens, Lucifer knew that it was only a matter of time before his Father would take action.

“How far is your pursuit of Cain and his group of Vampire army”
“He is one hell of a snake, he is very good at evading us. One minute we are close to him and the other, he is gone like he never existed” said Celeste to Lord Aurelius who asked her the question.
“But we also found out something about the new vampires that are being created by the progenies. They have weaknesses, they burn under the sunlight, which makes them unable to walk under the sun, I don’t know how Cain or his progeny can walk under the sun unscathed but I am figuring it out” said Celeste.
“That’s good, but we should not be complacent, if we can’t figure out a way to destroy Cain and his progenies, we will just have to get rid of the small fries,” said Lord Aurelius while turning his attention to Seraphina, “how is the tower coming along”

Seraphina came forward and looked at Celeste and nodded before turning to Lord Aurelius, “the tower is taking shape, it is only a matter of time before it will be completed and be put to use” she said.
“Good, everything is turning up good, just make sure Cain nor Seth becomes aware of our plans, so you all must keep them busy, continue chasing Cain and also implore the help of Seth in dealing with our rogue kindreds, they are also becoming a thorn on our side” said Lord Aurelius while thinking of use to make sure everything works out well.
