I'm The Devil - Chapter 197
Chapter 197: Enoch And Lucifer
In the soft glow of candlelight, Enoch sat at a sturdy wooden desk, his quill poised over a piece of parchment. His brow furrowed in concentration as he carefully crafted each letter, his hand moving with steady precision across the page.
The room was quiet, save for the occasional scratch of the quill and the gentle crackle of the fire in the hearth. Enoch’s thoughts were focused solely on the task at hand, his mind fully immersed in the act of writing.
With each stroke of the quill, Enoch’s words took shape, forming sentences that flowed seamlessly from his mind to the page. There was a sense of purpose in his movements, a determination to capture the essence of his thoughts in ink.
As he wrote, Enoch’s expression softened, a faint smile playing at the corners of his lips. There was a sense of satisfaction in the act of writing, a feeling of fulfillment that came from expressing oneself through the written word.
Finally, with a sense of completion, Enoch set down his quill, the last words of his composition now laid out before him.
The parchment, now filled with Enoch’s elegant script, seemed to pulse with quiet energy, each word a testament to the depth of his thoughts and the clarity of his vision. With a sense of reverence, Enoch carefully folded the parchment and placed it in a small wooden box, where it would remain until its message was ready to be shared with the world.
As he extinguished the candle and prepared to retire for the evening, Enoch felt a sense of peace settle over him.
As Enoch extinguished the candle and prepared to retire for the evening, a sense of peace settled over him. The quiet room seemed to embrace him, the shadows lengthening as the fire in the hearth crackled softly.
Suddenly, the door to his chamber burst open, and a midwife rushed in, her face flushed with excitement and urgency. “Master Enoch,” she gasped, barely able to contain her excitement. “Your wife has given birth to a healthy baby boy!”
Enoch’s eyes widened, and he quickly rose from his chair, his heart pounding with a mixture of joy and relief. “A boy?” he repeated, the words filling him with a profound sense of wonder.
The midwife nodded eagerly. “Yes, a beautiful baby boy. Both he and your wife are doing well. You must come and see them.”
Without a moment’s hesitation, Enoch followed the midwife through the dimly lit corridors of their home, his mind racing with anticipation. As they reached the chamber where his wife lay, he paused at the door, taking a deep breath to steady himself.
Inside, the room was filled with a warm, golden light, the flickering flames of several candles casting a gentle glow over the scene. Enoch’s wife, Sarah, lay resting on the bed, a tired but radiant smile on her face. In her arms, wrapped in a soft blanket, was their newborn son.
Enoch approached slowly, his heart swelling with love as he took in the sight of his child for the first time. The baby, with a tuft of dark hair and tiny, delicate features, was sleeping peacefully, oblivious to the world around him.
“He’s beautiful,” Enoch whispered, his voice filled with awe.
Sarah looked up at him, her eyes shining with tears of happiness. “He is,” she agreed softly. “Would you like to hold him?”
Nodding, Enoch gently took the baby into his arms, cradling him with a tenderness that came naturally. As he gazed down at his son, a wave of emotion washed over him—love, hope, and a deep sense of responsibility.
“Welcome to the world, little one,” Enoch murmured, his voice barely above a whisper. “You are a blessing beyond measure.”
Boom!!!
The ground shook violently, and the walls of the chamber trembled as a deafening explosion echoed through the house. Dust and debris rained down from the ceiling, and Enoch instinctively shielded his wife and newborn son with his body. Panic surged through him as he realized the source of the disturbance.
Giants. Their immense forms loomed in the doorway, eyes filled with a malevolent gleam. They tore through the walls with brutal strength, their intentions clear and deadly. Enoch’s heart pounded in his chest as he stood, helpless, before the towering intruders. He had no means to defend his family from such overwhelming force.
One of the giants reached forward, a cruel grin on its face, ready to strike. Enoch clutched his son tighter, his mind racing for a way out, but it seemed hopeless. The giant’s massive hand descended, and Enoch braced himself for the impact.
Suddenly, the room was bathed in an eerie light, and a figure appeared in the doorway, shrouded in shadows and power. Black flames danced in his palm, flickering with a dark intensity that seemed to absorb the very light around them.
“Enough,” the figure commanded, his voice carrying an authority that made the giants hesitate. He stepped forward, the flames in his hand growing larger, more menacing.
The giants, sensing the danger, turned their attention to the newcomer, but it was already too late. With a flick of his wrist, the man sent the black flames roaring toward them, engulfing their immense forms in an instant. The giants roared in pain and fury, but the dark fire consumed them swiftly, leaving nothing but ashes in its wake.
Enoch watched in stunned silence, his heart still racing, as the man approached. The stranger’s presence was both terrifying and awe-inspiring, his eyes glowing with an otherworldly light.
The man turned to Enoch, his expression softening slightly. “I thought I warned your parents about keeping you in check but they did not listen, well too bad for you lots are going to be my scapegoats?” With that, he turned to look at Enoch, “are you okay down there boy?” he asked, his voice now gentle but still carrying that undeniable power.
Enoch nodded slowly, still cradling his son. “Yes, thanks to you. Who… who are you?”
The man offered a faint, enigmatic smile, the black flames in his palm extinguishing. “The name is Lucifer,” he said simply, the name hanging heavy in the air.
