I'm The Devil - Chapter 255
Chapter 255: Apollo And Artemis
Lucifer navigated the vibrant energies of the God Plane with ease, making his way toward the Pangu Realm where his palace stood. The Pangu Realm, a majestic and serene domain, was renowned for its towering golden spires, lush gardens, and flowing rivers of pure light. It was a place of both tranquility and power, reflecting the dual nature of its master.
As he approached his palace, Lucifer observed a lively scene unfolding in one of the expansive courtyards. There, amidst the verdant greenery and ornate fountains, Apollo and Artemis were engaged in a spirited archery competition.
Apollo, the god of the sun and music, was a striking figure. His golden hair glowed as brightly as the sun he commanded, cascading down to his shoulders. His chiseled features were accentuated by a confident, almost regal expression. He wore a white tunic embroidered with golden threads, and a lyre was slung across his back, a testament to his dual talents. With each draw of his bow, a radiant light seemed to emanate from him, and his arrows flew with perfect precision.
Artemis, the goddess of the hunt and the moon, was equally impressive. Her silver hair shimmered like moonlight, tied back in a practical yet elegant braid. Her eyes, a deep, piercing blue, were filled with fierce determination. She wore a simple yet finely crafted tunic of forest green, blending seamlessly with her surroundings. Her movements were fluid and graceful, every shot a testament to her unmatched skill as a huntress. Beside her, a loyal stag stood watch, a silent testament to her command over the wilderness.
Neither god noticed Lucifer’s arrival, so engrossed were they in their competition. The targets set up in the courtyard were punctured with numerous arrows, each representing the impressive skill of the two deities.
As Apollo released another arrow, which struck the bullseye with a resounding thud, he turned to his sister with a triumphant smile. “It seems the sun shines brighter today, Artemis,” he teased, his voice carrying a melodic lilt.
Artemis narrowed her eyes playfully. “The moon will rise soon enough, brother,” she retorted, nocking an arrow and releasing it in a single, fluid motion. Her arrow split Apollo’s in two, embedding itself in the exact center of the target. “And when it does, the hunt will prevail.”
Lucifer watched the exchange with mild amusement, his presence still unnoticed. He could see the same competitive spirit in them that he had once seen in their parents. Finally, he decided to make his presence known.
“An impressive display,” Lucifer said, his voice carrying the weight of authority and ancient power.
Apollo and Artemis spun around, bows at the ready. Their eyes widened in surprise and confusion as they beheld the tall, imposing figure of Lucifer. His dark, flowing hair and piercing eyes, combined with the aura of immense power that surrounded him, made it clear he was no ordinary observer.
“And who might you be, to intrude upon our contest?” Apollo asked, his tone wary but respectful.
Lucifer’s lips curled into a slight smile. “I am Lucifer Morningstar, the Lightbringer and ruler of this palace. You may not remember me, but I knew you both when you were just toddlers.”
Artemis lowered her bow slightly, her eyes narrowing as she tried to recall. “Lucifer… I have heard tales of you, but it has been many years.”
Lucifer nodded. “Indeed. I left the God Plane when you were very young. But now I have returned, and it is good to see how much you have grown and how skilled you have become.”
Apollo relaxed his stance, curiosity replacing his initial wariness. “It is an honor to meet you, Lucifer. Your reputation precedes you. But tell us, why have you returned?”
Lucifer’s eyes flickered with a hint of amusement at Apollo’s question, but he chose not to answer directly. Instead, he redirected the conversation. “I see you both have honed your skills impressively. But tell me, why have you not yet returned to Mount Olympus? Surely, your presence is missed there.”
Artemis exchanged a quick glance with Apollo before responding. “There is no need for us to return to Mount Olympus,” she said, her tone confident. “We are perfectly fine here. The Pangu Realm offers us peace and the opportunity to perfect our abilities.”
Apollo nodded in agreement. “Mount Olympus is filled with its own intrigues and distractions. Here, we can focus on what truly matters without the constant demands of the other gods.”
Before Lucifer could say anything more, a soft voice interrupted. “Lucifer? Is that really you?”
Lucifer turned to see Leto, the mother of Apollo and Artemis, walking gracefully towards them. Her long, flowing robes seemed to shimmer with an ethereal light, and her eyes were filled with warmth and joy. “It has been too long,” she said, her voice filled with genuine happiness. “How have you been all this time?”
Lucifer’s stern demeanor softened at the sight of Leto. “Leto,” he greeted warmly, inclining his head slightly. “It is good to see you again. I have been… occupied, as always. There are many responsibilities that come with my role.”
Leto smiled, a touch of nostalgia in her eyes. “You have always been dedicated, Lucifer. It brings me joy to see you here now, after so many years.”
Lucifer nodded. “Indeed, but it is heartening to see that your children have grown into formidable deities. You must be proud.”
Leto glanced at Apollo and Artemis, her expression one of maternal pride. “I am. They have made me proud every day. And it is comforting to know that they have found peace and purpose here.”
Lucifer’s expression grew more serious as he regarded Leto. “While it is admirable that Apollo and Artemis have found peace here, their destiny lies on Mount Olympus. The balance of power among the gods requires their presence.”
Leto’s smile faded slightly, replaced by a thoughtful look. “I understand your concern, Lucifer. However, the tranquility of the Pangu Realm has allowed them to grow and perfect their skills without the distractions and conflicts that often arise on Olympus.”
“But be as it may, they are gods of the Greco Realm, children of the Godking of the Greco Realm, they are not welcome here”
