I'm The Devil - Chapter 261
Chapter 261: Welcoming Medusa
As Aphrodite made her way through the grand halls of Devil’s Peak, she noticed a stranger who did not look like a worker. Approaching her, Aphrodite’s curiosity piqued.
“Who are you?” Aphrodite asked, her tone polite but firm.
The woman turned to face her, eyes wide with a mixture of respect and nervousness. “I am Medusa,” she replied. “Lucifer brought me here. He saved me from Poseidon and has allowed me to stay.”
Aphrodite’s frown deepened slightly, though her eyes remained kind. “Medusa, you say? And how did you come to be here, in Devil’s Peak?”
Medusa explained her situation briefly, recounting her confrontation with Poseidon and how Lucifer had intervened, offering her a new path and a place to stay. “He has been kind enough to let me stay and learn from him,” Medusa concluded.
Aphrodite turned her gaze to Medusa, her expression softening. “It’s just like Lucifer to extend a helping hand,” she said with a small smile. “Well, Medusa, you are welcome here. Any friend of Lucifer’s is a friend of mine. I trust you will find your place among us.”
Medusa bowed her head in gratitude. “Thank you, Lady Aphrodite. I am honored to be here and will do my best to learn and contribute.”
Aphrodite nodded, satisfied. “Good. Follow me, and I’ll show you around. There’s much to learn about this place, and you’ll need to get accustomed to it.”
As Aphrodite led Medusa through the fortress, she explained the history and significance of Devil’s Peak, sharing stories of its past and the powerful beings who resided there. Medusa listened intently, absorbing every detail.
As they walked, they heard a distant roar echo through the halls, causing Medusa to jump slightly. Aphrodite chuckled, sensing her unease.
“Don’t worry,” Aphrodite reassured her. “That sound means the Dragon King has returned. He often visits, and it seems Sun Wukong is with him. They’re both allies and friends of Lucifer.”
Medusa nodded, her curiosity piqued. “I see. This place is full of wonders and powerful beings. I hope I can find my place here.”
Aphrodite smiled warmly. “You will, Medusa. Lucifer saw something in you, and that means you have great potential. Embrace it, and you’ll find your path.”
As they continued their tour, Medusa felt a growing sense of belonging. Despite the challenges ahead, she was determined to prove herself and make a new life in this extraordinary place.
Aphrodite and Medusa continued their tour of Devil’s Peak, the grand halls echoing with their footsteps. As they walked, Aphrodite shared more about the intricacies of the fortress and the roles of those who lived there.
“This is the Hall of Reflections,” Aphrodite said, gesturing to a large chamber filled with mirrors that seemed to shimmer with an otherworldly light. “It’s a place for contemplation and self-discovery. Many who come here find clarity about their paths.”
Medusa looked around, fascinated. “It’s beautiful,” she said softly. “I’ve never seen anything like it.”
Aphrodite smiled. “It has a certain charm, doesn’t it? Lucifer designed it to help those seeking answers. He believes that true strength comes from understanding oneself.”
They continued walking, and Aphrodite pointed out various other significant locations within the fortress: the Library of Shadows, filled with ancient tomes and magical texts; the Garden of Night, a tranquil place where rare, nocturnal plants flourished under the light of enchanted moonstones; and the Forge of Eternity, where powerful weapons and artifacts were crafted.
As they walked, Aphrodite and Medusa engaged in small talk, finding common ground in their past experiences and mutual respect for Lucifer.
“Tell me, Medusa,” Aphrodite said as they strolled through the garden. “What was it like facing Poseidon? He is not one to be trifled with.”
Medusa’s expression grew somber. “It was terrifying,” she admitted. “But when Lucifer intervened, it was like a lifeline. He gave me a chance to fight back and reclaim my life.”
Aphrodite nodded thoughtfully. “Lucifer has a way of seeing potential in people, even when they can’t see it themselves. It’s one of his greatest strengths.”
Medusa glanced at Aphrodite, her admiration clear. “You speak highly of him. It’s obvious you care for him deeply.”
Aphrodite’s eyes softened. “We all do. He has saved us in more ways than one, and we are stronger for it.”
They reached a balcony overlooking the vast expanse of the Pangu Realm. The view was breathtaking, with the sun casting a golden hue over the mountains and valleys.
Aphrodite leaned on the railing, her gaze distant. “Medusa, I believe you have the strength to find your place here. It won’t be easy, and there will be challenges, but you have already shown great courage.”
Medusa joined her at the railing, feeling a sense of peace. “Thank you, Aphrodite. Your words mean a lot to me.”
Aphrodite placed a hand on Medusa’s shoulder. “Remember, you are not alone. We are all here to help each other. And with Lucifer’s guidance, there is no limit to what you can achieve.”

Medusa nodded, feeling a renewed sense of determination. As they stood together, the future seemed a little less daunting, and the path ahead a little clearer.
As Aphrodite and Medusa stood on the balcony, enjoying the view, the grand doors of the palace swung open, revealing Lucifer, the Dragon King, and Sun Wukong. The trio walked out, their conversation filled with laughter and camaraderie.
Sun Wukong’s sharp eyes quickly spotted the two women on the balcony. With a mischievous grin, he nudged the Dragon King and whispered something that made the dragon rumble with amusement.
“Ah, there you are, Aphrodite!” Sun Wukong called out, his voice carrying a playful tone. “Making new friends, I see?”
Aphrodite turned, her expression warm as she acknowledged their presence. “Sun Wukong, Dragon King, welcome. Yes, this is Medusa. She’s new here and getting acquainted with Devil’s Peak.”
Sun Wukong’s eyes twinkled with mischief as he approached. “Medusa, is it? Well, any friend of Lucifer’s is a friend of mine!” He gave a mock bow, his antics causing Medusa to giggle.
Lucifer smiled at the scene, his gaze softening as he saw how well Medusa was fitting in. “It’s good to see you both getting along,” he said, addressing Aphrodite and Medusa.
Sun Wukong, never one to miss an opportunity for fun, suddenly leaped up, pretending to slip and aiming to grab onto Aphrodite for support. “Oh no! Aphrodite, save me!” he cried dramatically.
Aphrodite, having seen through his ploy, stepped aside gracefully, causing Sun Wukong to land harmlessly on the ground. “Nice try, Wukong,” she said with a smirk. “You’ll have to do better than that.”
The Dragon King let out a deep, rumbling laugh. “You should know by now, Wukong, that Aphrodite is not so easily fooled.”
Sun Wukong picked himself up, brushing off imaginary dust. “Ah, I thought I had her this time,” he said with a grin. “But I suppose I’ll have to keep trying.”
Medusa watched the playful interaction with wide eyes, feeling a warmth spread through her. Despite their power and status, these beings had a familial bond and a sense of humor that made them approachable.
Lucifer walked over to Medusa, placing a reassuring hand on her shoulder. “You see, Medusa? Even among the mightiest, there’s room for laughter and friendship. You’ll find your place here.”
Medusa nodded, her determination renewed. “Thank you, Lucifer. I already feel like I’m part of something special.”
Aphrodite smiled at Medusa. “And you are. We’re all here to support each other. Now, how about we head inside? There’s much more to see and many more stories to share.”
With that, the group moved back into the palace, the halls of Devil’s Peak filled with the sounds of their laughter and conversation. Medusa’s journey had only just begun, but with friends like these, she knew she was on the right path.
