- Chapter 101 - 101 The Silent Crescent Legion
101: The Silent Crescent Legion 101: The Silent Crescent Legion Velmora’s jaw flexed slightly.
“Because saying his name might still trigger something.” Lilith nodded.
“The old texts say he reached a level of power where speaking his name could let him hear it.
Could let him peer across time.” “Not just superstition?” Velmora asked, though her tone already suggested she knew the answer.
“No,” Elowen spoke up quietly from the side.
“The ancients feared him.
Not because he ruled, but because he watched.” Velmora took another breath.
“So the Vault wasn’t just asleep.
It was dormant.
Waiting for a signal.” “And Ethan was the signal,” Lilith said.
Velmora looked at the others, then back at Lilith.
“Then the threat isn’t just what Ethan can do…” Lilith finished for her, “It’s who might come once they know it’s awakened.” Velmora’s face hardened.
“The cults, and the other powerful beings who have been sleeping.” “They still exist,” Elowen said.
“The ones that worship the Restarter or want to become him.
Some say he was a god, others… something worse.” “If they even catch a hint that his bloodline has resurfaced,” Lilith said, “they’ll come.
Fast.
And violent.” “They won’t want to kill him,” Seraphina added.
“They’ll want to use him.” “Or turn him into what they think he should become,” Isabella said softly.
Velmora’s expression didn’t shift, but her hand flexed slightly at her side.
“Then we don’t wait,” she said.
Lilith nodded.
“No.
We move first.” “We set the protections,” Elowen said.
“We layer them in ways no one will notice but can’t get through.” “Every major entrance,” Liliana added.
“Every channel of information.” Velmora’s voice was calm.
“He needs to be watched without knowing he’s being watched.” Lilith’s tone matched hers.
“He’s not the threat.” Velmora gave a small nod.
“But everyone else will be.” They stood quiet for a moment.
No one filled the silence.
There was nothing left to say-only things to do.

Then Lilith stepped back from the window.
“Let’s begin.” But before they could say anything else, Velmora turned slightly.
“Where is he now?” The others glanced toward the hallway.
There was a moment of pause.
Isabella frowned and looked at the time.
“They should’ve come down by now…” Seraphina blinked.
“Yeah.
I told them not to take too long.” Liliana raised an eyebrow.
“It’s been a while.
Too long, honestly.” Lilith’s voice was calm.
“They’re still upstairs?” “I’ll go check,” Isabella said, already heading toward the stairs.
“If they got distracted, I’m dragging all three of them down here myself.” Elowen called after her softly.
“Be gentle.” Isabella didn’t answer, but her pace was already quick.
Once she was gone, the room shifted again-quieter, heavier.
Velmora turned back to Lilith.
“You’re thinking about sending someone after them, aren’t you?” Lilith’s gaze remained steady.
“Not someone.” Velmora understood before the words were spoken.
“The legion.” Liliana’s head snapped toward her.
“Wait.
What legion?” Lilith’s voice was calm.
“The Silent Crescent.” A hush fell over the room.
Seraphina straightened.
“You’re serious.” “I am.” Elowen furrowed her brow.
“That… might be excessive.” Liliana frowned.
“Bringing them here would mean making contact with the Superpower Association.
They’ll notice if a unit like that enters Earth.” “I wasn’t planning to inform them,” Lilith said flatly.
Elowen narrowed her eyes slightly.
“If you bypass the Association, they’ll think it’s an invasion.
Even if you don’t mean it that way.” “That’s why I didn’t say the royal army,” Lilith said.
“I said the Silent Crescent.” Velmora folded her arms.
“They move differently.
Quiet.
Hidden.
Not even satellites can trace them.” Liliana crossed her arms.
“Still.
You know how powerful they are.
A single captain can conquer a continent on their own.
What if they’re noticed?” “They won’t be,” Lilith said calmly.
“Their methods are built for this.
And every one of them is loyal.
They don’t report to the Association.
They report to me.” Seraphina shifted her weight slightly.
“That group hasn’t moved in centuries.
Not openly.” “They’ll move now,” Lilith said.
“Because I will call them.” Elowen’s voice softened slightly.
“Isn’t that dangerous for them, too?” “No,” Lilith said.
“They were born for this.
Their whole purpose was to protect the bloodlines tied to the throne.
Ethan is now part of that.” Velmora added, “Each legion has over ten million operatives.
The assassin series is their top unit.
Most of them don’t even leave a trace after missions.
But for this problem, only a few hundred thousand should be enough, as they should be able to infiltrate almost all of the cults that are nearby, so that they can get the information firsthand.” Seraphina looked at her mother.
“I feel like both of you are making this a big deal.
I mean, who would bring so many top assassins to this world?
But if we call them, that means you’ve already decided.” Lilith didn’t deny it.
“I’ve already sent the request.” Liliana’s voice tightened.
“And you didn’t tell us?” “There wasn’t enough time.
And I knew you’d object.” Elowen gave a slow sigh.
“This changes things.
It escalates everything.” “It’s already escalated,” Lilith said quietly.
“We’re just reacting late.” Velmora nodded.
“The cults won’t wait.
They’ll send spies first.
Then envoys.
Then warships.
If Ethan is tied to the Restarter, they’ll treat him as a key.” “Or a beacon,” Elowen muttered.
“A way to bring back what was lost.” Liliana shook her head.
“We’ve handled threats before.
But this… this feels like it’s going to attract everything we’ve avoided for centuries.” “That’s why we’re using the assassins,” Lilith said.
“Not the guards.
Not the public squads.
These ones don’t speak.
They don’t leave trails.
They handle problems before they start.” Velmora’s voice was firm.
“And if the Association does notice?” “Then we frame it as a rogue unit,” Lilith replied.
“And erase their memory of it.” No one argued after that.
Because the truth was-she was right.
This wasn’t something they could gamble on.
Not with Ethan.
Not with what was coming.
Just then, faint footsteps echoed from upstairs.
Everyone turned.
A few moments later, Isabella returned alone, but she had a weird expression the whole time.
Seeing this, Lilith and the other ladies looked at her curiously, and Lilith asked, “Where are they?” “Um, Ethan said he will be down in a few minutes, but for some reason, I cannot find the twins,” Isabella said with a confused look.
