- Chapter 81 - 81 You Underestimated Him
81: You Underestimated Him 81: You Underestimated Him Lilith leaned slightly against the window frame, her arms folded across her chest.
Her eyes weren’t sharp like they usually were-they were thoughtful.
Focused.
Seraphina had stepped back a little, her stance more relaxed now that the truth was out.
She looked toward Ethan, then back at the twins, as if trying to measure how much was too much to tell.
Even Liliana and Isabella, who could usually joke about anything, were quiet.
And Elowen… Elowen stayed standing near her daughters, watching and making sure that they were okay after learning about who they were.
The girls hadn’t said anything for a few minutes now.
It wasn’t fear in their eyes.
It wasn’t even confusion anymore.
It was wonder.
Like the pieces of a story they never knew they were part of were finally falling into place.
Lilith started gently.
“Your awakening wasn’t a coincidence.
Most humans awaken with talents.
Abilities.
But bloodline awakenings?
That’s different.
Rare.
You don’t just get solar and lunar manipulation unless your blood is so pure that it is able to revert to the ancestral bloodline.” Evelyn nodded slowly.
“It… it makes sense.
Kind of.
I mean, I always knew I wasn’t like the others at school.
But I thought that was just… personality.” “It’s more than that,” Elowen said.
“You’re part of a lineage that hasn’t walked this world openly in a very long time.” “And now that your superpower has awakened,” Liliana added, “you’re going to grow even faster.” Isabella gave a small shrug.
“Honestly, we thought you’d awaken something average.
Maybe elemental control, speed, aura-based stuff-something decent, but normal.” Seraphina nodded.
“Exactly.
Everyone awakens something when the time comes.
That part was expected.” She paused, then added more carefully, “But what wasn’t expected… was what you awakened.” Evelyn tilted her head slightly.

“You mean the Sun and Moon powers?” Liliana leaned forward, her tone quiet but steady.
“Those aren’t just rare.
They’re old.
Ancient bloodline powers are usually tied to noble Elven families.
The kind that haven’t shown up in generations.” Evelyn tilted her head.
“So… what about Ethan?” That single question shifted the room again.
Everyone turned to look at him.
He hadn’t spoken since the reveals started.
He’d been sitting back, calm, listening.
His hands rested in his lap.
His eyes didn’t dart around nervously.
They didn’t look overwhelmed.
He just waited.
Quiet.
Steady.
Lilith watched him for a moment, then gently asked, “Do you have anything you want to say?” Ethan glanced around the room.
Then he looked at the twins beside him.
He gave them a soft smile-one that said “you’re doing great” without needing words.
When he finally spoke, his tone was low, but clear.
“I’m not surprised,” he said.
“Not really.” That made a few eyebrows raise.
“You’re… not?” Evelyn asked.
Ethan shook his head a little.
“Honestly?
I’ve been wondering about all of you for years.” The room blinked at him in unison.
Lilith straightened slightly.
“Explain.” He chuckled once, just under his breath.
“I don’t mean I knew exactly what you were.
I didn’t know about succubi, or elves, or crests, or anything like that.
But something was always off.
Not in a bad way… just different.” He leaned forward slightly.
“You’re all too beautiful.
Too perfect.
Too composed.
I mean, there are supermodels with less poise than you have just walking around the house.” Isabella smirked.
“Well, we do try.” Ethan smiled briefly, then went on.
“But it wasn’t just looks.
It was how you acted.
How people treated you.” He turned his gaze to Lilith.
“You’ve had suitors-politicians, celebrities, CEOs.
I’ve seen the gifts they sent.
I’ve seen the way they talk to you.” His eyes drifted to Seraphina.
“Same with you.
Most of those investors and billionaires would move mountains to be near you.
But they never press.
They never step over the line.” “Same with Liliana,” he said.
“And Isabella.
You’ve all had the attention of some of the most dangerous men in the world… and none of them ever dared push you.” He sat back slightly.
“That’s not normal.
Not unless they knew, on some deep level, not to mess with you.” The silence in the room deepened again.
“I used to think it was your job,” Ethan added.
“That you were just that powerful or had blackmail on everyone.
But over time, that stopped making sense.
There were too many little things that didn’t line up.
Too many quiet moments where I could feel something deeper was going on.” He looked toward Seraphina.
“Then last night happened.
And this morning, when I saw the mark, I just… knew.
Even before you said anything.” Seraphina’s gaze softened.
Lilith blinked once.
“You figured all that out… from how people reacted to us?” Ethan shrugged a little.
“I didn’t have proof.
But the clues were there.” Everly stared at him.
“Why didn’t you say anything?” He looked at her with a small smile.
“Because it didn’t matter.” That answer took the wind out of the room again.
He turned toward Lilith this time.
“I didn’t care what you were.
Succubus.
Elf.
Something else.
You raised me.
Protected me.
Loved me.
Why would I question that?” Lilith opened her mouth.
Then, she closed it again.
He wasn’t done.
“I’ve always trusted you,” he said.
“Even if there were secrets.
I knew you had your reasons.
And I wasn’t going to dig into something that didn’t need to be forced.” He leaned back, hands still resting in his lap.
“I figured, when the time came, you’d tell me.” Lilith gave a slow exhale.
“We didn’t think you’d ever piece it together like that.” “You underestimated him,” Elowen said, a little amused.
“Not surprising.
He’s quieter than most.” “He’s observant,” Seraphina added.
“Too observant, apparently.” Ethan chuckled.
“I didn’t mean to ruin the surprise.” Liliana smirked.
“Not ruined.
Just… moved ahead of schedule.” Evelyn reached for Ethan’s arm and held onto it lightly.
“You’re really okay with all of this?” she asked softly.
He looked at her and nodded.
“Of course I am.
I meant what I said.
None of this changes how I feel about any of you.” CREATORS’ THOUGHTS Anime_timez24 Your gift is the motivation for my creation.
