- Chapter 84 - 84 The Treasure Vault Of Knowledge
84: The Treasure Vault Of Knowledge 84: The Treasure Vault Of Knowledge The glowing screen hovered in place, the symbols continuing to shift softly and smoothly, but the air around it made it feel ancient.
The atmosphere still had that same quiet rhythm, like the entire room was waiting for the book to do something.
Then, without warning, the light changed.
A soft ripple moved across the screen, and a spiral began to form at its center.
It started as a faint shadow-barely visible-but it grew with each second.
Slowly, dark tendrils of energy curled outward like ink in water, twisting and forming a spiral pattern that looked far deeper than the flat space it appeared on.
The spiral spun once… then again… until it opened.
Not just like a drawing or an image, but like a door.
A soft suction pulled at the edges of the room.
A breeze rolled forward from the spiral like a breath being exhaled from somewhere on the other side.
It didn’t feel cold or hot.
It felt… timeless.
Ethan stepped slightly closer without meaning to.
His instincts didn’t scream danger.
But they did say this wasn’t something normal.
Elowen’s eyes widened.
Her lips parted, but it wasn’t surprise on her face-it was recognition.
“This… this is the Vault,” she whispered.
Liliana turned.
“Vault?” Elowen’s voice lowered.
“The Treasure Vault of Knowledge.” The others blinked.
Seraphina glanced at her.
“What is that?” “It’s a place which no one can control,” Elowen said.
“It’s older than any single race.
Older than this universe’s known history.
Every ruler-every race-has legends about it.
A space that holds every truth the universe has ever known.” She looked at the spiral with deep respect.
“It doesn’t belong to any one species.
It just… exists.
The creator of this universe left it behind before any of us were born.

And only the recognized rulers of each race are given a single key, one use, once every ten years.” Isabella’s jaw dropped slightly.
“And you’re saying Lilith just opened it?” Before anyone could respond- Lilith stepped forward.
Without hesitating, she moved toward the spiral and walked right into it.
There was no flash of light.
No dramatic wind.
Her body didn’t vanish in a blur-it simply passed through the portal like water slipping into deeper water.
Gone.
Just like that.
Everyone stared at the spot where she’d disappeared.
Isabella blinked.
“Did she… seriously just go in?” Evelyn grabbed Everly’s arm.
“Wait, what is this place again?” Elowen was still staring at the portal, her expression more serious than they had ever seen.
“It’s a living vault of knowledge.
It doesn’t appear unless called by a key-a royal seal or artifact linked to a race’s true heir.” She swallowed.
“Inside is… everything.
Magic, bloodlines, history, weapon blueprints, ancient techniques, sealed events, secrets lost to time-everything.” Liliana tilted her head.
“Then why doesn’t everyone just go there all the time?” “Because you can’t,” Elowen said, her tone firmer now.
“Only rulers can access it.
And even they can only go once every ten years.
It doesn’t respond to greed.
If someone enters with the wrong intent… the Vault destroys them.
Not just them-sometimes even their bloodline.” Isabella stiffened.
“Seriously?” “I’ve only read fragments,” Elowen admitted.
“But the Vault is protected by a being known only as the Librarian.
A creature… person… something so strong that no one dares challenge it.
But apparently, the librarian is more of a shut-in than a tyrant.” Ethan raised an eyebrow.
“What kind of shut-in?” “One that’s said to be obsessed with books, tea, and strange humor,” Elowen replied.
“He never leaves the Vault.
Doesn’t care about war or politics.
But if someone comes in with bad intentions… It’s said he can erase your existence and shorten your relatives’ lifespan just for the insult.” The room went still again.
Everly looked at the spiral, then back at Elowen.
“But Lilith… she didn’t even pause.
Does she know all of that?” Elowen gave a slow nod.
“She does.” “Then why…?” Seraphina began.
“Because to her, none of that matters,” Elowen finished.
“Ethan does.” They all turned toward him.
Ethan didn’t look shaken.
But his brows were knit slightly, his gaze fixed on where Lilith had vanished.
“She went in there for me?” he asked.
“Of course,” Elowen said gently.
“You spoke the name of a bloodline that no one could recognize.
And you said you were the only one who could carry it.
To Lilith… that meant one thing.
That you might be in danger from something none of us understands.
She didn’t wait because she didn’t need to.” Ethan exhaled slowly.
“I didn’t ask her to do that.” “You didn’t need to,” Elowen said.
“She’s your adoptive mother, and she is willing to burn this world down if you ask for it to happen.” Hearing this surprised Ethan, but no one refuted it.
Not Seraphina.
Not Liliana.
Not Isabella.
Not even the twins.
They all knew it was true.
Seraphina stepped forward.
“So… what now?” Elowen looked at the spiral.
“Now we wait.
Or… we follow.” That caught everyone off guard.
“You mean we can just… go in?” Isabella asked.
“No,” Elowen said.
“We shouldn’t.
Not unless we have to.
If you go in without being ready, the Vault can reject you.
Or worse.
But…” She looked around the room.
“I’m going.” That stunned them again.
“You’ve been there before?” Seraphina asked.
“No,” Elowen said.
“But I’ve read more about it than most.
I’ve prepared for this possibility.” She glanced at Ethan one more time, and her expression softened.
“And I trust her judgment.
If she went in for him… then I’m going too.” She stepped toward the spiral.
Her feet didn’t hesitate.
The air around her shimmered once, then swallowed her form.
Gone.
Evelyn stared.
“She really followed her.” Everly whispered, “What should we do?” Everyone turned to Ethan.
He didn’t move at first.
Then he stepped forward.
“I don’t think she wants us left behind,” he said.
Isabella looked at the others, then nodded.
“Let’s not split up.” Liliana sighed once.
“Of course, this turns into a vault adventure.” Seraphina gave a faint smile.
“You wouldn’t miss it.” And one by one, they stepped forward.
The spiral accepted each of them without resistance.
Ethan was the last to go.
He looked once more at the room behind him-the shelves, the glow, the broken seal that had opened this whole path.
Then he stepped in.
And the room fell quiet again.
