94: Then We Burn Down Whatever’s Left 94: Then We Burn Down Whatever’s Left The study was quiet.

But it wasn’t the heavy, crushing silence from before.

This time, it was lighter, a tired kind of calm.

Everyone was still processing everything-the Vault, the bloodline, the truth about the Restarter, but at least now, it wasn’t terrifying anymore.

It was just… a lot.

Ethan let out a long breath, rubbing the back of his neck.

“I’m gonna go clean up,” he said casually.

“Feels like my brain’s been dragged through a battlefield.” Seraphina smirked lightly.

“You look like it, too.” Ethan shot her a mock glare before turning toward the hall.

The twins exchanged a quick glance.

“Us too,” Everly said quickly, grabbing Evelyn’s hand.

Evelyn just nodded, quiet as usual, but following along without hesitation.

The others stayed where they were-Lilith, Elowen, Isabella, Liliana, and Seraphina-all still standing among the library’s bookshelves.

They watched as Ethan and the twins slipped out of the room.

The moment the door clicked shut behind them, the lingering easy mood faded just a little.

Lilith’s smile thinned.

She reached into her pocket and pulled out a small holo-phone, tapping it once.

A secure line blinked to life.

“Velmora,” Lilith said simply.

The other end picked up almost immediately.

“Here.” Lilith’s voice stayed calm, but there was an edge to it.

“Come to the mansion.

We need to talk.

It’s urgent.” There was no hesitation from Velmora.

“On my way.” The call ended.

Lilith tucked the device away, leaning back slightly against one of the ancient shelves.

The others hadn’t missed it.

Seraphina crossed her arms.

“We’re not wasting time, huh?” Lilith glanced at her.

“We can’t afford to.” Elowen nodded slowly, folding her arms as she leaned against a pillar.

“If even a whisper gets out that the bloodline’s resurfaced…” “We’ll have every cult, every hidden faction, and every lunatic that worship, crave, or hate the restarted chasing after Ethan,” Isabella finished grimly.

Liliana shook her head.

“Not only that, they will also catch him to use him.” Seraphina leaned against the wall, her eyes sharp.

“Or worse.” The weight of it all pressed down again.

But this time, they weren’t as overwhelmed or confused, even though everyone still had many questions.

Lilith’s expression didn’t change, but her voice lowered just enough for them to lean in slightly.

“Listen,” she said.

“If Ethan ever has to use any abilities related to that bloodline in public, things are going to happen fast.

We might not be able to hide it.” The others nodded.

Lilith continued, “If it comes to that, don’t hesitate.

Don’t worry about politics.

Don’t worry about backlash.

Protect him first.

We’ll clean up the mess later.” Elowen’s voice was soft but steady.

“And if it’s too big of a mess?” Lilith’s golden eyes narrowed slightly.

“Then we burn down whatever’s left.” There was no bravado in her words.

No drama.

Just cold, simple truth.

They all understood.

No one argued.

No one flinched.

They had accepted this long before they discovered this bloodline, and now it just reaffirms it.

They left the library quietly, the weight of everything that had happened still hanging in the air.

No one said much.

They just followed Lilith, moving through the wide marble halls until they reached the main living room of the mansion.

It was a big, warm, and open space with soft couches, tall windows, and golden light pouring in from above.

They settled in without needing instructions.

Some sat, some stood, but all of them stayed close, waiting.

Minutes passed.

The air shifted, just enough to raise the hairs on their arms.

Outside, a faint ripple of energy brushed across the mansion grounds, steady and strong.

Lilith turned her head slightly, sensing it first.

“She’s here,” she said calmly.

The others straightened without being told, their bodies loose but ready.

They didn’t need orders.

They knew what was coming.

Meanwhile…

Ethan didn’t know about any of it.

He was already halfway to his bedroom, yawning as he pushed open the door and stepped inside.

The twins stayed a few steps behind him, pretending to be casual.

Very badly.

Ethan tossed his jacket onto the bed and tugged his shirt up over his head, too tired to notice how Everly was sneaking little glances at him, or how Evelyn kept twirling a strand of hair around her finger while watching him out of the corner of her eye.

He moved toward the bathroom.

The sound of running water soon filled the air.

The twins shared a look.

And without a word, they tiptoed quietly inside, slipping through the cracked-open door behind him like two mischievous cats.

They closed the door almost silently.

Inside the bedroom, the soft light made everything feel warm, almost golden.

And somewhere between the soft scent of clean sheets and the quiet sound of Ethan humming under his breath while washing up- The twins smiled.

Because today had been full of impossible truths, powerful strangers, and the heavy weight of lost bloodlines.

But right now?

It was just him.

Just Ethan.

And they weren’t planning on letting him take a shower alone.

Meanwhile, in the living room… The heavy doors leading to the entrance swung open with a low, steady creak.

Velmora Nyx stepped inside.

Her sharp black uniform stood out against the golden light pouring through the windows.

Her dark hair was tied neatly back, her boots silent on the marble floor.

Her gaze swept the room once, calm but heavy, before landing on Lilith.

Without hesitation, she crossed the room.

She bowed-not deeply, but with the smooth, crisp motion of one queen greeting another.

Lilith returned the nod, cool and steady.

“Thank you for coming,” Lilith said quietly.

Velmora straightened.

“What’s the situation?” Lilith’s expression cooled even further.

She glanced at the others before answering.

“The bloodline…

It’s something much more powerful than we had expected.” She paused, letting the words settle.

“It’s something that could bring in a lot of trouble, which is why we need to set up precautions before anything happens.” Velmora’s brows drew slightly together.

“Which bloodline?” “The Mythical Incubus Bloodline,” Lilith replied.
