With a hardened will, Cassius spent the next period of time taste-testing everything the black-haired beauty pointed out. The whole time, she seemed happy as could be, utterly oblivious to how he died a little with each further bite he took.

And this wasn’t even an exaggeration…

He quite literally died every time he ate something that Bella pointed out. Sometimes, he even died, only to then immediately die again in the very next moment!

Bella may not have intentionally poisoned the so-called “dishes,” but they were sure as hell lethal.

Even with his S+ Rank resistances to just about everything in this “Trial Gate Area,” Cassius still insta-died the moment he touched Bella’s food. This meant that it wasn’t an exaggeration to state that each spoonful of her cooking could kill hundreds of thousands of grown men.

She could start entire genocides by herself… and all with just her cooking…

With tears of blood, Cassius devoured everything that Bella prepared for him. In total, he died 30 times, marking his highest number of deaths in one day. Moreover, he lost his appetite for probably the next million years or so. And most notable of all, he lost his ability to ever put his faith in Bella’s cooking again.

In fact, after finishing off the food under her ecstatic eyes, he secretly destroyed all evidence of anything that went down here.

It all had to be erased!

And with that done and out of the way, Cassius and Bella could finally get on with their days. Today, more so than most others, was a day in which several important things would happen.

First off, Bella would undoubtedly attempt to kidnap her “husband” with the help of her father.

Secondly, Cassius had to not… get kidnapped. Preferably.

Thirdly, he needed to try to avoid the System’s attempts at eternally trapping him in whatever the “Nightmarescape” actually was.

So, all in all, yeah, it was just going to be a very hectic day filled with Cassius doing his utmost to preserve his life and freedom. Though, to be fair, it was honestly just a normal day for him but with a few more Big Boss figures at play.

As Cassius unknowingly spent quality time with the girl who would be orchestrating his future kidnapping, a silver-haired, goddess-like woman with horns and a tail looked around in confusion.

All around Yimin were funny-looking creatures. There were koalas, panda bears, tigers, lions, and even the hippopotamuses. She seemed all too interested in these animals not too long ago, but all that interest just now vanished from her moist eyes.

She missed her Master…

“Why did the Master abandon Yimin…?? Yimin just wants to fuck-fuck with the Master…”

He didn’t abandon her. She ran off.

“Hey, Momma, what is that funny-looking animal supposed to be?”

A child’s curious voice echoed, attracting the attention of an older woman holding onto the child’s small hand. She turned to look where her son was pointing, yet saw… nothing.

“What is it, Teddy? Are you talking about the tiger exhibit?”

“…No… That other—” the child looked again, rubbed his eyes, then looked once more.

The funny-looking creature had disappeared…

—Meanwhile, just outside the Steele Family mansion, a few seconds after Cassius and the girls went whichever way they were going for the day—

Sasha had decided to go out shopping while they went to school. Grace left in the same manner as the day before, and Hellion did what she usually did—stayed at home and read books. When not observing him, she stuck to reading literature; it helped her pass the time that plagued all morsels under the Heavens.

However, on their way to school, Cassius and the others were suddenly stopped by a group of three people wearing black suits. Two were men, and the last was a woman. Every single one of them had an aura of at least B- Rank, but the leading man, with a cool, suave way about him, was of the B+ Rank.

Clearly, they were not from around here.

“Cassius Steele, our Guild invites you,” said the leading man, his tone respectful.

But if one paid close enough attention, they would notice a certain amount of prideful disdain in the man’s voice.

“Your Guild?”

“Yes, our Guild… The Voidling Guild! We have heard much about you from reliable sources.”

Cassius’s eyes narrowed. “Reliable sources?”

“You needn’t worry,” the leading man reassured. “No one ratted you out. We simply checked the exclusive records of the Hoshito Branch Hunter’s Association out of curiosity and found your unusual feats stated in the secret pages.”

Cassius was becoming even more suspicious.

“You were allowed to do that…?” he asked.

Cassius was unaware of this if that were the case. Was he not cautious enough?

The leading man chuckled. “Of course not under normal circumstances, but with the unfortunate death of the Branch Master of this City, restricted data was made temporarily available.”

Shit…

Cassius realized right then and there that his impaired state of mind since learning of the Branch Master’s sudden death caused him to be careless. And in that carelessness, a few problems were formed.

For a moment, he contemplated the act of simply ignoring this invitation. But then again, it wasn’t like the invitation was necessarily given out with ill intentions. Moreover, he had heard of this Voidling Guild before. It was of the S-Rank and was led by an expert of the Void and Space Element.

Her name… What was her name again…?

‘Ahh… yes… it was Viola… Viola Voidweaver.’

From the rumors, this woman of incredible skill was not only ridiculously beautiful and talented but also came from a family of high renown. In fact, her parents were the heads of the Japanese Commerce Association, which was the number one business corporation in Japan. The company dipped its hands into various avenues and had a wide channel of influence that extended all over the world.
